This podcast, "Finding Hope Through Food," explores how food can rebuild ourselves, our communities, and our identities. In the first episode, Jason shares his experience as a first-generation college student, where he lacked access to safe and healthy food. He discusses how his perception of himself and his future changed when he gained a better relationship with food. Food, it's what brings us together, lifts up communities, and gives us solid ground. But what happens when food becomes the enemy, shifts your identity upside down? How can we use food to build us back up? On this podcast, we explore rebuilding ourselves, our communities, and our personalities through food. I'm your host, Jenny Jackson, and this is Finding Hope Through Food. In this first episode, we talk to Jason about his experience being a first-generation college student. His identity was defined by a lack of access to safe, healthy, and sustainable food and nutrition. In this episode, he walks us through what it was like to go from extreme food insecurity to extreme food security. Jason walks us through how his perception of himself, his life, his abilities, and his future looked like as soon as he gained a better relationship with food.
