Appreciations and Criticisms of the Works of Charles Dickens

G. K. ChestertonG. K. Chesterton

"Appreciations and Criticisms of the Works of Charles Dickens" is a collection of essays written by G.K. Chesterton. Originally published as prefaces to Dickens' separate books, these essays were meant to be taken with the grandeur of Dickens' stories. Chesterton's own theories were a mere dry biscuit to be enjoyed with the tawny port of English comedy. Although most readers didn't take notice of Chesterton's theories, the essays themselves were not meant to be harmless. They offer insightful critiques of Dickens' works and a deeper understanding of his literary genius.
