The speaker reflects on their childhood memories of fox fur and finds it creepy. They mention the existence of fox farms around the world, including in the US and Finland. Real fox fur is becoming a trend again in the fashion industry. The speaker introduces Nicole Navarro, founder of Positive Beginnings, a fox rescue organization in Florida. The speaker shares some fox trivia, such as the names for male and female foxes, and groups of foxes. They express excitement about the upcoming episode and how it will change listeners' perspectives on fox fur. Three, two, one. Now what comes to your mind when you think of fox fur? Now for me, I think of my grandmother when I was little. She had a fox stole. You know those things with the nose and the legs and this big long tail and those creepy really fake eyes? Now she wore it around her neck like everybody else did of her generation. But now I think back on it, I think, man, that was really pretty creepy. Here's a crazy thing. Even though the fox farms still exist all around the world and their only purpose is to raise these little guys for their fur, now I'm not going to get into the horrible details and just how that works. But get this, here in the US, we still have fox farms in 10 states. The good thing is we're one of the smallest and actually Finland is the largest in the world. Now here's something really crazy. Real fox fur is again this new old trend that's been coming back in style with some of the biggest fashion brands in the world. In today's episode, Nicole Navarro, she's the founder of Positives Beginnings. It's a fox rescue organization. Now she's got this great story to tell us. So you may be sitting there thinking, rescue a fox? What do you mean? Who rescues foxes, right? Well here's something even more crazy. Positive Beginnings is in Florida. Foxes Florida? I thought it was alligators. But anyways, I'll let her tell you the story so you can understand. So here's a couple of fox trivia snippets. Males are called dogs and females are called, now wait for it, vixens. Yep, they're called vixens. Fox vixens. And a group of foxes are called a few things. They're called skulks, leash, or earth. Now I learned so much this episode. Nicole's this amazing storyteller and I know when you hear this episode, you're going to be packed full of all this new information and probably, probably think different about fox fur. So sit back and get ready. It's a really great episode. It's a really great episode.
