The speaker believes that reading is not as popular as it used to be due to the availability of other forms of entertainment, such as computer games and movies. However, the speaker personally enjoys reading adventure stories because they make life more exciting and allow for virtual travel. While many people prefer e-books over paper books for their convenience and cost, the speaker still finds reading to be a favorite pastime. I would like to tell you a few words about what I think about books and reading. To my mind, reading is not so popular nowadays. There are several reasons for this. First, teenagers now have far more ways to entertain themselves. They have an opportunity to play computer games, listen to countless number of songs and watch any films they like on the internet. As for me, I like reading very much. My favorite kind of books is adventure stories. I like adventure stories because they make my monotone life more exciting and interesting, give me an opportunity to travel around the world. Most people nowadays prefer e-books to paper ones, as paper books cost more and occupy a lot of space in your home. Some really huge paper books are too heavy to be taken with you. As for the e-books, you can take it with you wherever you go. So, in conclusion, despite the fact that reading is not so popular nowadays, it continues to remain one of my favorite pastime.
