George Tabak's realization that his prophet couldn't predict the future and his servants' descent into insanity by ignoring reality raise questions. Whelan establishes shelters and a food system in Kena before returning to Gale. Lee and Evans contact Howard Williams to abolish slavery, but it is vetoed. James and Lee marry and name their child Charlie. Epilogue. Would it have been enough for George Tabak to come to terms with the truth that his prophet was incapable of accurately predicting the future? Would it have been enough for his servants to realize in the process of neglecting reality for a hope they all went insane? And what of poor Charlotte and all the promise she brought? All the joy and happiness in children she never got to partake in due to her bearing the likeness of another? I guess we'll never know. The glider soars through the sky until the fuel burns out. The company, distraught, decides to settle in Gale at Lydia's old home. They build extra portions of the house for everyone. All the party become citizens of Gale. They give Charlotte and Coffee a grave in the backyard. They all take up farming to build back up the crop. While Whelan returns to Sadie to establish more shelters, he sets up food mansion in Kena, an order system. As he tries to go about giving them a law system and code of fighting, he then returns to Gale. Lee and Evans are able to get in touch with Highland noble Howard Williams, and he forms a new treaty toward abolishing slavery there. It is vetoed by King Janos III again. James and Lee marry the following year. They name their first child, Charlie.
