Last Destiny Volume 1 Chapter 14

In the final battle, the group passes through different regions and witnesses the destruction caused by Ryu. They gather allies and launch a united attack against Ryu, but he proves difficult to defeat. Eventually, with the help of powerful summoners and a dragon-like entity named Manamana, they manage to severely weaken Ryu. Kahira delivers the final blow by slashing Ryu's throat, causing him to lose concentration and stumble. The remaining magic users prepare for a final attack to prevent Ryu from reforming. Chapter 14, The Final Battle They pass through the Payo region, an area they hadn't passed before. It is full of valleys and numerous villages all about. Many are out and about staring at the Kuza as it passes. For the group, they understand this is what they are fighting for, to protect their world's peace. As they reach the Tex region, they are amazed at all they see. Separatists, gnomes, centaurs, ninjas, trolls, elves, druids, fairies, witches, gorillas, rajahkans, riyakasos, all move together. They realize this is what it has all been about and what it has been coming to, and they have a fighting chance. Some of the units see the Kuzas, though, and are mystified by it. The group lands near where they met Sebastian, as that is where he planned Ryu would come. They are thrilled when they find little Hagen alive and well there. Hagen runs to the Kuza from among trees. She is overjoyed to see them. She says, I have waited and waited for you all here. I knew you all would come. I left my people once you all left. I saw my demise among them if I stayed. As she walks before K'Haira, Sulu says, can you see what is coming? Hagen says, no, dear friend. He has blocked everyone from glancing into the future. I did not think such a thing was possible, but it was revealed the Ren sources had been doing the same thing. K'Haira says, child, why did you come? Hagen turns back to K'Haira and says, to die by the warrior's side. K'Haira turns his head and says, you know deep down I can't have that. Leave here, little one. At best, you can stay aboard the Kuza until it is all over. Hagen looks up to him and says, yes, sir. She bows her head and runs to the Kuza. The others look to him in amazement. K'Haira says, I fear too many will fall. We should have assaulted the kingdom. K'Haira says, as much as I want to agree, my friend, I think that would have been suicide. Hagen says, yes, with my friends gone, I think this affords our best option. Hagen's voice sounds as if all the energy has been drained of him. The others want to ask him not to come. They know he won't listen. Bayou is set to arrive early in the morning. Most everyone rests then. Before even daybreak, explosions are heard, which awaken everyone. Bayou live. It started in the north, in the Paiute region. It unleashed flame from its mouth-sewing teeth. It caused upheaval, which tore deep in the planet's core. Devastation like this had not been seen before by anyone living. The damage stretches for miles in straight lines from Paiute to the Tex region. All life caught in the crossfire is snuffed out. Entire villages in the Paiute region are carved through and demolished. It ravages the Tex region in the same manner. This awakens the units, who do their best to form some form of a strike. Loads of all the gathered defenses begin attacking Ryu at once, as best they can as he completes an aerial strike. They are bewildered and it is fully in its nature tearing through them. Not even some of these spirits can stand against him. Kahira and others, for the most part, are overwhelmed. This is about how Kahira figured all of this would go, but he did not have any desire to see it happen. He realizes that for what it is worth, they are the most experienced in what is transpiring, and for that reason, they have to take over. Several drinks to every crystal energy exist as one would a potion. He then concentrates as never before. Ayoya, who has been working on her magic casting, begins casting a lightning spell to draw Ryu to them. Kahira and Cayenne ride sphinxes in order to strike Ryu directly with their swords. Unlike Kahira's sword, Cayenne's courses with an energy. They fly up to Ryu, thanking the sphinxes who each blast Ryu with all their might to no avail. Then they swing in closer to Ryu, allowing Kahira and Cayenne to strike with their swords. Each are taken aback when they see it causes no damage. Ryu strikes a look toward them and unleashes a blast of magical energy. Kahira beckons his sphinxes to toss him towards the blast. The sphinx does so and Kahira is startled. When the blast connects, Kahira swings at it in a cutting stroke with all of his body. Cayenne is amazed as it becomes apparent Kahira is covered in a form of energy field and his sword splits through the energy. Ryu is actually startled by this while the sphinx swings in and rescues the fallen Kahira. Kahira looks at his blade, smoking in astonishment. As Cayenne and Kahira fly from Ryu, Kahira though, begins rallying her to those gathered units as he flies along. A mass of flying Eurekians swoop in and cast a wave of lightning spells blinding. It responds by burning them to shreds. Below, Saru is ready. He smiles intensely as he crackles with energy. Mayoya notices he is fully conscious this time. Edgar and Vanity step away from him. Saru opens then closes his eyes as energy generates from them. He looks up and says, things are about to get interesting. Above the skies darken and a storm forms. Four literal tears in reality occur revealing spaces outside the known realm. From these spaces step forth four demonic-like horned entities with purple flecks. They each take a bow and utter their individual names. I am Hynese. I am Hahagas. I am Mineowa. I am Taki. Two wear weapons, two do not. They charge toward Ryu and each take a portion of the beast. They strike with their weapons and channel energy at it. Ryu is affected and has to focus on them. The peoples notice and are amazed. Several people now rejoin and begin as separate groups concentrate. Mayoya takes some of the airy crystal now convinced it can boost magic. As Ryu is locked in battle with them, it crashes into the earth. It causes massive damage as it tosses them away. Unrelenting, they charge back at it. Even its energy glasses are not destroying them. Then the other Nari summoners gather to summon Freya, Balder, and a unicorn. They join the fold attacking Ryu as one. Several individuals strike Ryu with combined magic spells of lightning, fire, and water. Kahira swings in and strikes at Ryu with all his might. He pierces it but the beast heals the wound. Kahira has a moment of epiphany. Ryu begins to gain the upper hand crushing several of the summoning spirit types. It's not one of the several slammed into the earth. It channels all of its magical energies and assaults the beast. Then it stabs the beast in one of its eyes. All of the beast's several summons form a united attack and vanish as Ryu tries to heal itself. Vanity and Hagar are healing Saru. Saru says, there is someone who has been calling out to me. Here they come. Saru goes into a trance while still crackling with energy. Ryu manages to heal all but its eye. But it is obvious it is still greatly damaged as swarms of the gathered attack at it. Mayuri continues to focus all of her energies into one coming spell. Many of the summoners of Mayuri have come over to Saru and joined in to help his conjuring. Then a massive breach in reality occurs and from its depths a dragon and human-like energy. Almost as enormous as Ryu but feminine with scales. It roars with unending rage. Ryu in disbelief utters, what? Flying amongst another on their strengthens. Kaira says, edgy from how summonings are created. It lies. Kayan then responds, hey, what else is new? Manamana in the old tongue says, abomination. She looks about her as one new to a scenery then launches toward Ryu's neck. More summoners join Saru to help with the attack as they all teem with energy. Manamana casts an earth spell which causes a barrier of soil to form and encase Ryu. Then she delivers a lightning spell so massive it causes Ryu to holler in agony. Mayuri asks of the other magic users, are they ready? Who stand about her? It is a massive crowd. They nod. Then they all cast one massive combined attack. It is a combined attack of all forms of magic what comes thundering down. Manamana is on top of Ryu, clears out of the way. When it hits, Ryu gasps. Ryu bleeding and enraged says, such disrespect. I never for the life of me would have suffered. Oh, in my time. No, I will do as how she planned. I will snuff this rebellion out. Then I will remake this world in my image. Manamana cries out in the old tongue. Despot, I cannot allow you to persist. Saru is starting to bleed all over. So are the other summoners. Heger, Vanity, along with other white magic users do their best to heal them at once. Manamana launches a massive wave of magical energies while the magic users do as well. It all connects forcefully knocking at Ryu into an explosion. But quickly Ryu emerges choking Manamana with one hand rising her up. It summons coursing energy in its mouth and obliterates Manamana who screams out of existence. All of the summoners fall. But just as this occurs, Kahira is tossed by his spikes into Ryu's other eye. Kahira slashes the eye of the unsuspecting Ryu open. He continues slicing away at the sphinx, snatching him away and puts him back on his back. Ryu is in agony, blinded and swinging in all directions. The sphinx says, you really are a brave one or just utterly insane. Kahira says, we have to finish this now. Ryu stops and lowly says, I will end this all here and now. It begins to concentrate its energy. Ryu is greatly damaged at this point. The fight is direct and it is obvious. Kahira and the sphinx swing down to where Mayuri and company are. They all take the elixirs and Kahira explains they must be ready to prevent it from reforming. He takes off before they can act further. They begin channeling all their energies for another unified attack. The skies darken as never before. Kahira and the sphinx take him in and launch him at his neck. Holding his sword out with his hands as tightly as possible, he connects, cutting into his throat. He continues to cut away relentlessly. This is enough of a distraction to cause Ryu to break from his concentration and stumble. Before he can snatch Kahira away, all the remaining magic users unleash one final massive attack. Kahira is caught in an attack. The explosion is devastating. Mayuri is overwhelmed as she falls to her knees realizing what she has done. Everyone who remains on their feet notice Ryu does not emerge from the smoke. As the smoke starts to clear, Ryu is in two pieces. The steel can be seen twitching. The casters, minus Mayuri, deliver a final attack. As the sky clears, the sun shines forth and rain follows. Those who are still on their feet cheer as one because they know it's finally over. Tien and Mayuri hold another in tears. Hagen and Vanity hold up Seru as they walk over to them to find out the horrible news. When they reach the cruiser, Hagen already knows. They search through the wounds of where Ryu fell and are able to locate the iron sword. It isn't even damaged.
