The speaker emphasizes the importance of prioritizing what truly matters and not wasting time on unproductive activities or people. Hey, hey, hey. We're back. COP episode 6, 2024. How are we doing out there, world? Hey, guys. We're here. Yep. Back at it. Another wonderful week. It's a beautiful day above ground. Yes. I just want to say thank you guys for joining us here today. We really do appreciate you guys and grateful. We're grateful. It's Black History Month. February 2024. Yeah, it's a short month, but what I always say is Black History Month, I mean, it's every day for me. I'm black every day. I don't really need a month to celebrate. I celebrate my ancestors every day, the ones that paved the way for me. That's a lot. Yeah, it's every day for me. I'm black every day. We're not going to relegate our history, our successes, our challenges, you know, to one week. That's unfair to any group of people, you know what I mean? We were here when this country started, and we're going to be here when it's all said and done, when their judgment comes. But in keeping with the program, we're going to celebrate our ancestors, our history, our strengths, our trials, tribulations, all of the trailblazers that paved the way for us. And, you know, we're going to keep the legacy alive and carry that torch high. Yes, I like that. I really, really do. A lot of what I have been focusing on for February, the month of February and January, is mainly making my ancestors proud. Like, I'm really, really big on that, if you really know me. Like, I am in the habit of making my children proud of me, people around me proud of me. I go hard for a lot of people, and the reason being is because the state that our world is in today, just not speaking about black history and all that stuff, just what we're dealing with today as a whole, as all Americans in the United States of America, I must say is very, very frightening. And I know I spoke about this on the last show, episode five, I think it was. I spoke about this, where our country is headed, it terrifies me. With that being said, January, February, every month of the year, I'm striving to push my family forward. We will never be left behind again. Yeah, we need to get out and vote too. We need to get registered, if you don't know how to register, reach out to your elders, to your OGs, look up your local voter registration information, and get registered. And be prepared, let your voices be heard, let your vote be heard, because it's going to be important that we come out and we represent and advocate for what we're looking to achieve in this election. Yeah, I think this is going to be a tough run. I think, I always speak on this about us all pulling together and working together, but what I'm coming to realize is that that's not always easy. It's a tough task, and I just feel like I'm not really focusing on that anymore, I'm focusing on right here and right now. And that's my family. Yeah, that's where we got to start, you know, we got to start at home, we got to start individually, you know, and then you work out, you work outwardly. Yeah, I was just talking with my friend at the winery tonight. And a lot of things that we talked about really, really hit home for me, and I felt like, damn, girl, you have really, really been outdoing yourself. Like, just explaining to people, like, who I am and what I do and my movement and what I try to accomplish by, you know, just pushing the culture forward, helping and, you know, just who I am as a person. It really hit home for me tonight, because she's like, girl, sometimes you just got to stop. You just got to stop and take care of you. And that's where I'm at tonight. I came home, I really was in a different place, I was in a different mood, I was in a different space, but I didn't want to really do the podcast tonight, but I felt like I will be letting you guys down. The people who do look forward to my show, who I am helping, the people who are receptive of the help. And that motivated me today to say, hey, no matter what's going on around you, there's someone out there that always needs your help. That's powerful. I took heed to my friend tonight, but I also felt a way of like, yeah, it's time you start taking care of you. So I'm telling you guys that tonight, because I got a lot of go-getters on my team. I have a lot of strong women, men. I have a lot of people that, you know, that don't take this life for granted and that really, really want to do better and move forward. I'm not going to let you guys down. I'm going to keep rocking for you guys. Let's get it. With taking care of myself in the process. Yeah. Yeah, you got to take care of yourself. That's what I took from the conversation. Like, hey, you have to take care of yourself sometime. And I felt that in my spirit. That's my new spirit. Yeah, if you're not good, you can't do for others. You know what I mean? Yeah. You can't drink from an empty glass. You know, you got to be full. You got to be full of life. You know, you got to be prepared mentally, physically, emotionally, spiritually. And then, you know, project that energy outwardly. Yeah. I just think with me, I don't know when I've run my course. Like, I want to keep on, keep on, keep on. And sometimes people drop off like, well, I'm done. Yeah. So that's kind of me. I mean, like Black History, we were talking about Black History Month and our ancestors. And that's my focus right there. Every day for me is Black History Month because I'm continuously striving to push us forward. Yeah, I attribute that motivation, that drive, at least from my perspective, to the military. You know, the military kind of built that in us to go, go, go. You know, always have your eyes, you know, eyes and ears set down range. You know, and you got a task in front of you. You knock it out. You complete it to the best of your ability. And then, all right, it's on to the next. You know what I mean? You know, you got your basic training. You got your vocational training. Then you get assigned to a military base. Boom, you're at that base for a particular length of time. You know there's something next, right? So you're there three, four, however many long years. And then, all right, we got to go somewhere else. So we pack up. You know, you get all your paperwork in order. You get your family in order. You get your mind right. It's off to the next. And then the cycle continues. And it's like, you know, as we phase out of the military in a, you know, a limited capacity and kind of ramp up life in the private sector, in the corporate sector, in the business sector, civilian sector, we carry over, or at least I've carried over, that approach to life. You know, like Letitia alluded to, like, you can get caught up. You can get caught up in that cyclical grind. And you can lose sight of yourself. And what's really important. Yeah. So you have to always identify, you know, what's important. Because a job, everything is, will expire. Temporary. Yeah, everything is temporary. But you always got to keep your priorities in check. And a job is temporary. A job is definitely temporary. You know, you can always get another job, you know, contrary to popular belief. That's not everything, you know. But your health, your mental, physical health, your family. Yeah. And then, you know, your personal interests, hobbies. You know, what makes you happy is priority. And then everything else is ancillary. Yeah. You know what I mean? I think we kind of, you were mentioning about the military and, you know, what that did and how you had to conform and that type of thing. And that played a big part in our family. I'm like that, too. We both are like that as a couple. We just go, go, go, go, go. And we expect everybody to be on that same pace. And it really don't work that way. It's just our thing. And you want to see people get there and get to that point and grind that way. But what I've learned here, not just in California, Chicago, too. It's Chicago everywhere. It's like the high expectations for people is like you've got to understand, like, who you're dealing with. Yeah, putting things in perspective, yeah. Yeah. I'm kind of that person. I'm dealing with that. I'm identifying that. You know, just because I'm a strong person don't mean everybody else is strong. Just what I'm trying to get at. So with Black History Month, we talked about this and took you guys through this tunnel because, for me, it's like when I don't succeed or, you know, people that I'm trying to push forward, they fall off. That's like a failure. It's like failure to me. It's like, you know, damn. I see the potential, but it's not their process, their path. That's my path. That's my family's process and path. So I just, like I said, I don't want to let my ancestors down. I have to be sure, you know, about people. I have to learn people and just make sure people are receptive of help. So however you are, you know, celebrating Black History Month, whatever you got going on, just make sure that it's something that's going to be productive. Like it's not going to be a waste of your time. It's not going to be a waste of your energy. Make sure it's actually going to be for those people and it's going to make a difference. That's what I'm getting at. Making a difference, that's what I strive to do. I have to see that my time and energy made a difference. If I don't see that, that's failure to me. Yeah, yeah, I understand. I'm the same way. Yeah, time is money. Time is precious. You know, you can't get it back once you expend it. And, yeah, I'm the type, I don't care who you are. It's like once I figure out that I'm wasting my time, I don't want to waste my time. You know, that goes for, like, simple things like conversations as well. Like if I get into a situation or experience where I feel like I'm wasting my time talking to somebody where it's like a pointless conversation, I'm not one for pointless conversation. You know, I'll shut it off quick and I'm disinterested. You know, and that goes the same for, like Letitia said, putting your energy in somebody and realizing that it's for nothing. You know, it's a letdown. But that can also be like just, you know, placing your expectations in the wrong place, you know. Yeah, you're right about that. That's very, very true. Yeah. Like you just spend this time because you want people to succeed. You want to see them win. But they don't. That mindset, I'm not saying that they don't want to win. It's just the mindset is different from yours. And I just want to, me, I just want to make my ancestors proud. I just want to make people proud. I just want, if I help one person, which I have, I've helped many. And I was just always taught this with my field of work. Like I told, I don't know if you did not hear the first episode. I am a psych major. So I deal with the brain. I deal with people, human, whatever. Right. I'm human. We all are human. But it's just, if I don't feel like I'm making a difference, it's, like I said, it's failure for me. And then I was always taught that if you save one person, you've done your job. And that's what I've been thinking about for the month of February. Even though I feel like some of my time has been wasted on different groups and things like that. I just, and Marlon, both of us, we've shared, if you've listened to past episodes, we've shared many situations that we have gone through with just this, just on this topic about helping people. Just on, hey, giving people a shot to then become the victim, not the victim. We will never be victims. That's one thing. One thing, we, much as my husband and I have gone through, we will never accept that title as victim. We will accept the lashes before victim. Okay. But what I'm trying to say is, I always say, I always say, find your tribe. Find your purpose. And make sure before you go through what we go through, people are ready and receptive because, like my husband said, time is money for us. Just sitting here doing this podcast is time and money for us. Yeah, it's energy, it's time, it's commitment. We had to adjust our schedules and everything like that to come here and not leave you guys hanging. So that's my recommendation for you guys. Before you get out here and stomp on the world, make sure that people are ready. It will save you a lot of time and energy. Yeah, and then also, like, you know, what can combat against, you know, expending energy, unnecessary energy, is placing yourself in situations, you know, where you can be challenged to grow. You know, put yourself in rooms and spaces where, you know, there's like-minded people. There's people on higher levels than you. I like that. You know, there's people and situations in play that motivate you, that challenges you. You know, don't always be the smartest one in the room. You know, put yourself in a room where you're not the smartest person in the room. You know, a situation where you have to ask questions, you're inquisitive, you don't know what's going on. That's going to challenge you. That's going to, you know, allow you to rise to the occasion. You know what I'm saying? So, that's one way to combat against expending, you know, negative or unnecessary energy this year, this month, you know, in life. I just think this generation is different. I think we touched bases on this on another episode, but this generation is different. People, some people are not teachable anymore. They look at that as hating or you're doing something wrong to them or I'm teachable. Yeah. And you guys may not know this. Some people do, like Marlon and I, we love talking to elders. Oh, yeah. When we're back home in Chicago, that's who we socialize with, elders. The reason being is because of the knowledge. I'm not talking about the fools because you got some elders out here that are damn fools. And I'm going to just call it what it is. I can give scenarios, but I won't. But what I'm saying is, like, well, I guess I'll give a scenario. You have fathers out here that I'll say like John Morant did. That's his heart. Right. He don't know. I just feel like when you're that old and you're the parent, you should know better. I just wanted to throw that out there, give that example of what type of damn fool I'm talking about. Right. Sometimes you got to put your leader hat on and lead. You got to be teachable. You got to learn. Everybody not hating on you. That's the new generation. And that's why I don't like talking to a lot of these people out here. Because should you say they not, excuse me, but no, well, I'm good. Should they say, should you say to them, it comes off as, oh, you're a hater or you're trying, you want something from me. Or, you know, it's that I just don't play that because where I'm from, the elders are going to put you in your place and they're going to lead you to be great. Yeah. The elders, you know, because they have life experience. They've been through it all. You know, the ups, the downs, the highs, the lows through life they have made. You know, they didn't have many successes. They didn't have, you know, they experienced tons of mistakes, you know, made tons of mistakes. That's just part of life. We all going to experience it all and everything in between. You know, so, and then, yeah, like you said, you got this new generation that's just different, that's entitled and, you know, they don't want to listen and they think they know it all. Trust me, I was that person. We all were that person at one point. But, yeah, this generation seems, I mean, they got it to a different level. You know, so those elders, it's just special when we can just sit down and just have a genuine conversation, man, like, you know. Yeah. Some elders, they lead from their, what can I say? They lead from their trauma. They lead from who they are. And that's not always right. I'm just talking about, like, you could go meet a veteran, somebody you don't know. Ten-minute conversation would be an hour therapy session. Those are the elders I'm talking about that has no potential gain, no agendas, just want you to learn something. And I feel like some of the, when I was back home in Chicago, I would just run into women in the grocery store, learned about my history, Arkansas, that's where my ancestors are from. Yep. Arkansas, Mississippi, all of that. I learned a lot just by stopping and talking to the elders. This generation don't even do that anymore. That's whack. No. It's weak. It's all that, but no. Find somebody to talk to. Go outside your circle. Find somebody to talk to with some real, real knowledge, and they're going to let you know. Yeah, that's interesting you say that because, you know, the elders and just our experiences with elders and our passion for connecting with them led us to this business venture that we're launching this year. We just bought into a franchise. Yep. It's a senior home care franchise. You know what I'm saying? And, you know, it'll be launching this year. Yeah, shout out to the brand. Shout out to L&M Wellness Enterprises. Yep, here we go. You know, but it gives us that opportunity to give back to the 65 and older population, which is growing exponentially, you know, as we speak, and over the next five to ten years. You know, it allows us to connect with them, to give back, to provide, you know, much needed, you know, resources and support for them, and, you know, just connect and heal, you know, heal and soothe our souls. You know what I mean? Like it has so much meaning and impact and purpose. So, you know, our desire and our interest in connecting with the elderly has led us to an opportunity of a lifetime, in my opinion. Yep. And it's going to be a movement. When I tell you a movement, it's going to be a movement, and we're bringing it here to California. Yep. It almost didn't make it here, but... For real, yeah. I'm just... We didn't consider Chicago. I know. I'm kind of... I'd be like, man, sometime I just want to get on a plane and just be like deuces. That was my... Cali was my past, put it that way. You know, I got some good people here, and I think this would be a good asset for California. The elders, they need this here. And I talk to a lot of them here. I really, really do. Yeah. And the stories... I just met one lady at physical therapy. She mentioned her husband died. She was maybe about 77, 78. Her husband died. She was moving to Vegas to be with her sister, her sister's elderly in Vegas. And she's like, yeah, there's nobody here. I can't get anybody to go to the store for me, this and that. I said, hey, give me your phone. I'll plug my number in. Anytime you need someone to go to the store for you, take you to the doctor, do any of that. Ma'am, call me. I got you. Her story... I don't want to make you guys cry right now, but her story, that's what I was doing while talking to her. Crying and learning from her. Yeah. So that's how I'm going to make a difference here in California. I bought into this franchise because it's a way to give back. I don't care if you're black, white, Hispanic. It's a way to give back to the elders. And this show aligns with, that aligns with what we're talking about, Black History Month, which is about the ancestors and the black culture. And, hey, that's what we're doing. We're trying to do real shit here. And I got to get focused. Again. We got it. We got it. You got it. You know, and then on the flip side, which, I mean, we haven't touched on it yet. We might as well go ahead and spill the beans on the last episode. And this is touching on, like, touching on, like, the generation, these kids that, you know, running rampant out here, you know, bless their hearts. As we advertised for the last episode, episode five, that was our first live broadcast, you know what I mean? And we partnered with a young brother, you know, we wanted to do business with, support black business, support the youth, you know, within the community. Noble Calls, right? You know, he shot our event for, our holiday event for one of our other businesses this past December. Did a good job, and we were like, all right, you know, in the videography, let's partner up with you to shoot our first live podcast. You know, he came out, shot it, saved it on a SD card. And for whatever reason, that SD card just magically disappeared. So, so that first episode that we shot, episode five, that was supposed to be live video. It's only audio. We did. We did. We let you guys down. We had a whole podcast, a little shindig. Yeah. We were so excited. We were ready. And Sinclair, if you're listening, don't let me catch you. It's on site. Don't let me catch you. That's all I got to say. Don't let me catch you, because you know what time it is. But take this as a lesson to be taught. Get into your craft. You got a gift. Yeah. You just lost out on some major cash, because we have so many. I can't even get it out. But we have so much going on between, you know, Marlon and I. He got some of his own stuff going on. My stuff, companies. We got businesses that's launching. And look how you represent your company. It's not good. Yeah. I'll see you, young brothers and sisters. Learn something here. People in general, you know, are becoming entrepreneurs. You know, attention to detail, discipline, you know, responsibility. Yeah. Professionalism. Life is but a joke. Those qualities, customer service, you know, those soft skills, connecting with people. They go a long way, you know what I mean? So just make sure you're all tapping in with that, in addition to, like, you know, following your dreams and, you know, honing in on y'all's strengths, y'all's superpowers. That's important. But, I mean, you also got to be professional. You got to be consistent. You got to pay attention to detail. You got to be disciplined. You know what I'm saying? Yeah. That's going to go a long way. That's what customers are looking for. Yeah. They need good quality customer service. Because we are about business over here. If we hire you to do something, do it. That's it. You know, it's kind of that. And that's, you know, all this plays a part in what we've been talking about the last 30 minutes. Get in tune with your elders. Hey, man, how do you do this? How do I boost my portfolio? How do I get into this business? How can I be better, you know, as a businessman, businesswoman? Because that situation that happened, now I feel like I failed my people. Because so many people were waiting on that footage. Like my little sister, Akita, she reached out to me. Oh, I can't wait to see the video. This is what you guys need. You know, it's going to move the brand forward. That sort of thing. And we're not there. We're not there yet. But guess what? Like, you know, be on the lookout. Be on the lookout for that first live event because it's going to be special. You know, it just builds the suspense, you know, the anticipation. Trust me. Yeah. It just makes you want to remember. Right. Let's not lose sight of that. It puts some fire under my ass. Like, damn, you got to step your game up. So that's what it has done for me because literally the way I'm thinking now, Oh, shit. Where I could take CLP to, I could hire the best. The best of the best. Like I don't have to deal with the drama. So we just wanted to apologize for that. And we know you guys were looking forward to that, our followers and things like that. We are about to get in tune. We got something special for you guys. And, you know, we're about to get it going. Trust and believe. Trust and believe. Yep. Yep. Yeah, we had a good weekend out. I had some work to take care of with my military unit this past weekend. So that was a good experience. I usually go out there and connect with them on a monthly basis. But that just brings up some pretty, you know, unfortunate news that broke over the last, like, week. Actually, a couple incidents occurred. In Jordan last week, there were three soldiers that were killed in an attack on an outpost out there. A remotely piloted airplane crashed into some dorms out there overnight when they were in their beds, you know, asleep. And injured 30 and killed three. Really, really sad news. So I just wanted to kind of speak on that, put that out into the universe. And, you know, I want to give their names as well and just kind of, you know, wish them peace in their transition. So, yeah, Sergeant William Jerome Rivers, he was 46, of Carrollton, Georgia. Rest in peace. Specialist Kennedy Layden Sanders, 24, of Waycross, Georgia. Rest in peace. And Specialist Brianna Alexandria Moffett, 23, of Savannah, Georgia. Rest in peace. Yeah, so wishing you all peace, you know, in your transition and, you know, your service. And sacrifice was never going to notice. They were in vain, for sure, for sure. That was terrible. I'm glad you brought that up because that was terrible. I actually... You actually sent the information to me, like, when it broke. Yeah, I was in tears because that could have been any of our family members. And some of them were just new to service and watching their loved ones and everybody, you know, mourning and grieving. It was hard for me. It was really, really hard. Hard for the world. And the casualties and the injured, they were actually evacuated from Jordan to Baghdad Diplomatic Support Center. It's a State Department base in Iraq, Baghdad. I was actually deployed there a few years back. And, yeah, they were evacuated there, and then they were moved onward to Landstuhl, Germany, which we were stationed there years ago. So it was really, really close, close to home. Yeah, it really, really sucks as a spouse just to know somebody got that call. I don't wish that on anybody. Got that doorbell ring. I don't wish that on anybody. It had me up. I got no sleep. It had me up. So I'm glad you touched bases on that. I'm sorry, go ahead. No, I just wanted to say that I don't wish that on anybody. My husband was there. So, yeah, I'm going to let you talk. Yeah, and there was even more unfortunate news that broke. I believe this news came out yesterday. There was a Marine helicopter traveling from Vegas to San Diego where it was assigned to. It crashed, killing everybody on board, five Marines. Names haven't been disclosed yet because the next of kin haven't been notified. But, you know, life is precious. You know, life is precious, one. That's first and foremost. Two, you know, these service members, you know, they're risking their lives. They're putting their lives on the line for their reasons, for their country, for the citizens, you know, of the country and the world in most respects. So, you know, think a veteran when you see one. Yeah, and no matter. Past, present, future. Right, no matter what you feel about. No matter what you feel about them, just know this. You wouldn't be able to do what you do now in this present moment if it wasn't for a service member. Yep. So shout out to all my brothers and sisters. Past, present, future. Yeah, we love you guys and we wish you guys the best and keep going. That's it. That's all you got to do is keep going. So you can't go no more. Yeah. Yep, but back to. I know that was heavy. Yeah, military. I wish some of you guys would call up here sometime and talk to Marlon and, you know, just or come get on the show and talk about your experiences in the military. Marlon has a lot of friends that a lot of people in his circle that are veterans and everybody has a story. You may think your story is, you know, fucked up, but, you know, that's why you find your tribe and you vibe and you will understand that, yeah, your story may be hard. Their story may be hard, but you can always help each other just by talking to people. I can't stress that enough. I cannot stress that enough just by talking to folks like, hey, this is what I've been through. This is what it is. Marlon's granddad was in the service. My uncle was in the service. So it just didn't start with us. It started with our ancestors. So we got a lot of gems, free gems from their stories and their walks of life and how they overcame, you know, being in the military, you know. University, yeah. And past life. Yeah. So. I want to share that with y'all. If you think your situation hard, try being in the military back in those days. In the 60s. You know what I'm saying? Yeah. Go to the bases. Even if you can't get on base, go stand outside the base. Go to the VA. One of them veterans is going to start talking to you. They're going to talk to you. You just got to listen. You're going to learn something, I tell you, and I love it. I love it. Yeah. That's all they want to do. That's all they want to do is talk. I mean, but Air Force Base, we would go to the commissary often. And the commissary, for y'all that don't know, is like the grocery store. Which I love. Yeah. You know what I mean? Got the groceries for the low, low. I think I'm going to go Saturday. Yeah. And years back, when we would go often, it was like, you know, one veteran up there. You remember the veteran? Yeah. I forget his name. His brother, man. He knew everybody. He would talk. He knew everything. And he would talk. And resources. You know what I mean? And you can get caught up, you know, if your mind ain't in the right place. Like, man, this motherfucker talk too much. But if your mind ain't in the right place and you don't appreciate it. But then when you sit back and relax on it, like, man, I want to talk. I'm going to go up to the commissary and just chop it up. I'm in the mood to just listen. Talk the hell. You know, because you ain't going to get much word in edgewise, you know. This ain't for you to talk. This is for you to listen. Yeah. You know what I'm saying? And sometimes that's all someone needs is a listening ear. So often, you know, especially these days, everybody wants to talk about what they're doing, what they've done, you know, what they got. You know what I'm saying? But people like that, all they want to do is talk. They need you to listen. You know, you got those two ears for a reason. You know what I mean? Use them. In those situations, you can help a person. You know, it can really change a person's life. Yeah, I like that. And I just wish you, I just wish, you know, we got to do better with reaching out, too, and, you know, sending some shouts out and shouting people out, getting people set up, getting people on the calendars to call in and, you know, just shoot the shit. Yeah, we'll put that in motion. We'll put that in motion. I like that. I like that. So, yeah. I just, I'm glad we made it here today. This was a therapy session for me. I like it. I like it. I feel motivated. I feel inspired again. Yeah. Yeah. I feel like tomorrow I'm going to go out and make a difference again. That's right. Yeah. That's exciting. We got a food drive also for the homeless, February 17th, Lancaster Boulevard. I hope you guys can attend or donate a sandwich, donate a cup of coffee. But we'll put up more information about that on our CLP, Changing Lives Podcast Instagram. Definitely follow Wells Family Foundation Instagram, social media. That information will definitely be there. But that's our Black History Month. We're going to feed everybody we can. Yeah. We're going to push everybody for it. We can. We got jobs coming here with our new franchise we're about to build here. And that's our Black History. Shout out to the legends. Shout out to the ancestors. Yeah. You know what I mean? We're doing it. We're doing it for them. Yeah. And I do want to say, too, if you don't have elders that you can talk to, I got a lot of them I can refer you to. Trust me. I'll give you my Uncle Wooley number. He'll love the phone call. He'll take it at any time of the day, any time of the night, and he's going to tell you straight up, he's a straight shooter. Yeah, for real. And you will be helping him out because he loves the conversation now. So, yeah, we got a lot of resources. We're willing to help. We're here, and I'm glad I'm here today. 2024 COP Episode 6. We appreciate all y'all's support. You know, we're here. Yeah, we're here. We're here. We're moving forward, and nothing's going to stop us. We're going to keep on moving. So you guys do the same thing. Now we got to get into the COP Sports Toast. Yeah, I'm ready for this because I've seen something real, real interesting today. I think we will be remiss, though, and we need to get to that. We will be remiss if we don't start our COP Toast out with 2-8-24, you know, today's the date, you know, CobyGG24. You know what I mean? It's Coby Daydamnville. Go ahead. Yeah, I'm glad you brought that up because he is the one who inspired our segment today. He was on my mental with thinking about just showing up and being present, right? This dude was a lot of things, but one thing I could say about him, his legacy. Excuse me. Bless you, babe. His legacy is solid, tight. Just who he was as a person, like, it inspires you to do better. And the reason why he on my mental, because you guys don't know, but while we're sitting here taping, I'm sitting here watching the game. I'm watching his wife. I'm watching his children. I'm watching LeBron hit Murray upside the head with a ball. That was that, oh, about five minutes ago. I know. So, listen, Mamba mentality. I was not a fan of his. Actually, I could not stand him. Not a lot of people. A lot of things that he did in his younger life, I just wasn't a fan of. I just think he turned that around. Those situations he got caught in and this and that, I don't want to bring that up really, but just to give you guys an example of what I'm saying, he made his shit right. He turned out to be an upstanding, great guy. In my gym, I have a gym in my home, his picture and a quote that he lived by is, don't worry about the haters. The haters don't hate anybody good. They hate the great. So, if you got a hater, you're doing something right. That's how I view myself. That's how I view my husband, us as a couple. When you hear all the hate and you know who you are as a person, when you become the problem, that's what I look at it as, I'm doing something right. I've been thinking about him since we turned on this podcast. I was like, will he give up? Will Kobe give up? Nope, Kobe ain't giving up. You ain't going to get nowhere by giving up. I'm going to keep going. Yeah. I love the man. I got to watch that. I got to watch him grow into a great man, a man you could trust. And I love that about him. What I hate is watching his wife suffer without him. I hate that. Rest in peace to Kobe and Gigi. Kobe, Bing, Gigi, love y'all. Your legacy is going to live on. That right there, that's what people are going to remember about y'all. That's what they're going to remember about him. It ain't going to be the ball. It's going to be who he was as a person. And one thing's sure, for sure, two things for certain, he picked the right one. He definitely picked the right one because Vanessa is holding him down. Yep. She hold them kids down. She been doing it since day one. She going to make sure they got a roof over their head. She going to keep going. That's her. And I love that. I love that. Yeah. I had to step out today rocking them Mamba C's. You sure did. And I'm just noticing that today. Yeah. Mine is still packed up. I still have not unpacked my clothes from Chicago and from the other house, from the move. I have the same sweatshirt but pink and purple. And I should have had it on today. She buys most all of my fly shit. Who's your baby? You are. For sure, for sure. I got you. I told you that. I got you. I got you, baby. Yeah. Mamba C, Mamba. Kobe Bean. We love you, bro. Looking forward to seeing those, those, those, those statues that they unveiled. Oh, we go tomorrow. Tomorrow. Yeah. Lakers got it back. We'll be at the crib. I'll be. Yeah. We got a couple little, little, little parties. We got a crash. Plus our cousins are in town from Chicago. So they'll be with us. Yeah. They slid on us. Yeah. They ready. They ready. So we're going to be hitting them LA Hollywood streets tomorrow. Let's get it. Yeah. But see, this is what I was going to say. Um, after, you know, we had to pay our respects to Kobe. Yeah. We're going to do that always anyway. Um, but I seen that Patrick Beverly, they traded him again. Where do you go? You're not even going to believe this. I'm surprised you ain't, you've been working hard today. Yeah. You've been grinding. You've been, I haven't seen you since earlier and I didn't even get a kiss. I'll get you one. Okay. Okay. So listen, guess where he going to? Milwaukee bucks. What? I'm just like, at this point it's time to retire. I think, I think he going to go. He going to keep collecting his bag. I kind of would too, but I just don't like that every season they're trading. It sucks for me. Like, well just, I just wish he could have stayed, you know, in his hometown, Chicago. Yeah. He from the South side. They, they, you know, that dog in them is, is in high demand. So they bouncing him around. I just don't like that. Yeah. Yep. Collect your bag though. Yeah. Collect your bag, bro. Keep grinding until you can't grind no more. Yeah. That's how I'm looking at it. That's how I'm looking at it. So who you got for Superbowl? Yeah. Superbowl is about to, about to be upon us. We got a big event for the Superbowl. I picked the Niners weeks ago and I'm still riding with the Niners. I think it's a very close game. Yeah. It's really hard to, to bet against my homes. Yeah. Travis Kelsey and Andy Reed and that Chiefs defense. You know, they, they had a rough regular season, but they know how to turn it on during, during the postseason. That's their M.O. That's their M.O. They gonna, they gonna be skiing a little bit. Yeah. Through the, through the, through the season. Soon as playoff hits. Yeah, but it's like. They gonna be jumping heels. Man. And, and, and that dude, that dude Mahomes, he's, he's on path to be. He's great. He's gonna be. He's the greatest of all time, man. He's gonna be one of the greatest. Yeah. But I, I, I'm sticking with the Niners. I'm not changing my pick. I think I'm going with the Niners too all because I feel like I'm this girl. I'm a Bears fan. No, no, no. My team is not in, but I can root for somebody else. I feel like Mahomes has, he has three already. Two. Two championships? I thought he had three championships. Let me see. But anyway, I just feel like I would like to see somebody else win one. That's the girl I am. Let somebody else get a, get a ship, you know? Yeah. For real. And, you know, looking at, I'm looking at the, two Super Bowls. Yeah. He got two Super Bowls. Yeah, this would be his third. Okay. So, but, you know, the Niners, they, they solid, man. They got a solid defense. They got Christian McCaffrey, who's probably, who could be the MVP. You know, he in the running for MVP, MVP at least with Lamar. I think Lamar's gonna get it. You know, he got good coaching. Kyle Shanahan, he's a, he's a beast, man. He's a methodical thinker. He's a strategist. He knows how to make in-game changes. I think that's really key. I think it's gonna come down to who makes a mistake because both teams are really, really good. And then you got Brock, the young boy, you know. I want to see him win. I think he, I think he, I think he showed up. He, he's a boy. I look at him as a, as a young guy, as a, as a, you know, but I think he showed up and he handled that situation. He, he's taken them, what, two times? Two times in a row. Yeah, that's the second, second year in the season, second year in the league. And both times he's led his team, arguably led his, led his team to the big dance. And that's the big, that's the topic of conversation surrounding him. It's like, oh, is he a game manager or is he the one who's, who's doing it? Like, I mean, that's, that's up for debate. The proof is in the pudding. Two years straight, he's been the quarterback on the team that's made it to the Super Bowl. Right. You know, it is what it is. Right. And, and, and just no disrespect to, to the Ravens, to Lamar, but I don't think that he deserves MVP. Who? Lamar. No. Yeah, it is. Yeah. I don't think he deserves MVP. It's crazy because, I mean, that's a regular season award. And he had a, he had a great regular season, you know, but he just, he fell short. He's consistently fell short in the postseason. So, we'll see. I mean, they're not going to judge him for his postseason play. Yeah. I'm not sure what the qualifications are, but I just feel like, I think MVP, like back in the day, MVP for me was, you was holding the championship trophy. Yeah. And they were calling out the MVP. Like, that's what I want to get back to. I'm like, I don't think MVP should go to losers. I know he's, he's brought the Ravens a long way, but I just feel like, damn, that should be going to somebody on Chiefs or 49ers team. Like, I don't know. We'll see. We'll see. It's going to be fun. And then, yeah, this next, the next episode, we drop. Yeah. We're going to see how the chips fall. You know, we're going to be chopping it up on the results. And then we're going to get to basketball because basketball is going to start cooking up. Yeah. I'm looking forward to that tennis, you know, tennis. Oh, we got a tennis match. We got a tennis match, the BNP Paribas. Oh, I got to get a tennis outfit. Yeah, in March, that's going to be super dope. We already got the VIP passes in place, you know, looking forward to that experience. So, yeah, it's going to be, it's going to be a good time, you know, so. And Super Bowl Sunday, may the best man win. I feel like this. Even if it, in any playoffs, whether it's football, basketball, tennis, hockey, I don't care if it's my team, another team, I just always feel like this, may the best man win. That's it. Ain't no love lost. But we got Super Bowl party Sunday. I'm looking forward to that. Looking forward to your wings and we got lupia. We got some lupia coming and a lot of more stuff, so it should be fun. No stress of the Bears losing because they're not in the Super Bowl. Bad news, Bears. Bad news, Bears, I swear. But let me tell you this. Like I said, if they trade fields, I'm going with it. I'm still going to be a fan of the Bears. I'm not saying that. But I'm going to follow him because he's going to be one of the greats also. He just needs a good team. Yeah, you know, it's still, I mean, that's the word on the street, is that the Bears are going to, well, I can't really say that now. They've been talking commanders lately that they may take Caleb Williams, that's bro from USC, come projected to go number one overall. But they're still, like, speculating that they're going to trade Justin and try to, you know, they're going to get a top pick either way it go. But, yeah, we'll see. It's going to be interesting to see how it all plays out. But the Bears, they got a good future. They got a good future in play in store because of all the picks they got, you know, so it's going to take some time. But, you know, we'll see. We'll see how it plays out. Yeah, well.
