The speaker reflects on the question of what they want to be when they grow up. They never had a clear answer and felt smart enough to excel in any subject. They grew up surrounded by books and extracurricular activities, with art becoming an important part of their life. Drawing became a way for them to express their emotions and they realized that art was their true passion. It has become an integral part of their character, allowing them to express their creativity in ways they never thought possible. Now, there is a question we have all been asked countless times ever since we were small kids. What do you want to be when you grow up? Most kids would always quickly come up with an answer, a vet, astronaut, doctor, teacher, actor, singer, all options they could think of. And then there was me, with little to no idea of how to answer the question. I've never had an idea of what I really wanted to be, and so I always ended up answering just whatever came to mind. The truth being that I was always smart enough to perfect at any school subject, and maybe that was the reason I couldn't deliver my passion late. I found my school program easy, and most of my peers, boring. I grew up surrounded by books and extracurricular activities, as my parents made sure I had something to do, leaving me with a bare minimum of free time, which has been reading or doodling. I had different ideas, of course I did, but they were all my ideas. I understood that I couldn't just go and become an actress, singer, or a famous writer without proper training and lots of experience. One of the only things I've always been interested in, enough to practice and improve, was art. Ever since I was a toddler, I used to draw my family, and the things around me. It was fun, even if my drawings looked like any other kid's. Over time, I kept improving and trying again and again, no matter how disappointing I was with the results. At that, I realized that I was born to be a creative person. I wrote poems for my family's birthday and holiday presents, later on even wrote stories, and, of course, I drew. Drawing became one of the most important parts of my life, and it is one of the only ways I can express my emotions. It is an activity that changed my life, and opened so many new opportunities for me. I could create art for gifts, school events, and just for fun, and I believed that my creativity had become a key part of my character. In the end, I discovered that my passion for art was my answer to the toughest questions. Art has become an integral part of who I am, allowing me to express my emotions and creativity in ways I never thought possible.
