The next step is to add liquid for dilutions, commonly called broth. The liquid is added in a ratio of 1 to 10. The prepared samples are vigorously shaken. Then, the mixture is sieved onto plates. We prepare two plates for each product, which are labeled according to the assigned number in the Starlimps system. One plate is filled with a medium that serves as nourishment for bacteria, while the other plate is filled with a medium for mold and yeast. The plates are carefully moved to mix everything. The plates solidify after 15 minutes and can be placed in an incubator. After the incubation period, we read the plates. The results are recorded in a notebook and the Starlimps system. Kolejnym krokiem jest dodanie płynu do rozcieńczeń, potocznie zwanego bulionem. Płyn dodawany jest w stosunku 1 do 10. Tak przygotowane próbki energicznie wytrząsamy. Następnie przesiewamy mieszaninę na płytki. Dla każdego wyrobu przygotowujemy dwie płytki, które uprzednio podpisujemy zgodnie z numerem nadanym przy system Starlimps. Jedną z płytek zalewamy podłożem, które stanowi pożywkę dla bakterii, natomiast do drugiej dodajemy pożywkę dla pleśni i drożdży. Płytki ostrożnie poruszamy w celu wymieszania całości. Płytki zastygają po 15 minutach i tak mogą zostać umieszczone w inkubatorze. Po okresie inkubacji odczytujemy płytki. Wyniki zapisujemy w zeszycie oraz systemie Starlimps.
