Oh God, oh God, I don't understand Are you tired? I wonder God, are you there? Cause I'm not seeing you Lord, where are you? All my tears and prayers Desires and myths are now defining you And it's appearing true Just because you didn't do it like I wanted Just because you did not show up like I thought you would Just because it didn't turn out like I prayed But that doesn't change you That doesn't save you It doesn't change who you are You're still God We appreciate you Lord Jesus We appreciate you mighty Father For you are still God in our lives Despite the situations, despite the conditions We appreciate you for there is none like you We give you the glory Lord Jesus Thank you mighty Father In Jesus mighty name we are praying Father we thank you for you are God And forever you remain God No matter the situation around No matter the circumstances that surround us Thank you Father for you are God And nothing will change that We give you the glory in the name of Jesus Thank you for what you are doing in our lives For the strength, for the encouragement That you are giving to us day in day out Thank you Father for keep us going in this Christian race You did not allow us to fall by the wayside We appreciate you Lord in the name of Jesus That as we go into your word, to look into your word That you may speak to us That we pray Lord that you speak expressly to our hearts in the name of Jesus And let our hearts receive your word with joy And let it transform us in the mighty name of Jesus As many that will hear and listen to this word That it will pray Lord that the word will be a blessing to them in the name of Jesus Thank you Father because you have answered In Jesus mighty name we are praying Praise the Lord I welcome everyone of us to today's service The second Sunday in the month of February 2024 The Lord has been so good to each and every one of us In the course of the week I shared it with my people The Lord gave me a vision and gave some instructions Through the vision and I know the instruction is also Should be delivered to us because we are part of the people That the instruction was focused upon We know what is happening in the nation at this present time And the instruction was that we should focus on Jesus That only those who focus on Jesus will be spared at this time So that is the instruction The second is that the glooming days are short So in a short moment from this time The Lord is going to restore all things back to normal And I pray that we will not be left out in the name of Jesus And lastly when we are choosing our leaders We should choose leaders that have the scriptures, the word of God in them In situations like this if we have the type of leader that can Command the word of God upon Nigeria Things should be different The Israel never had a better king than King David The reason is that he was a king that feared the Lord And that knows the Lord intimately So during this time Israel was so prosperous And they covered the largest boundary of the promised land that the Lord gave to them And his blessings overflowed into the life of Solomon And we know the story I pray that the Lord will also remember us today And remember this nation Nigeria And help us to select the good leaders in the mighty name of Jesus Therefore the topic of today's sermon I will be drifting a little bit from the series that we have been following Though it has a way it connects But based on the instruction I received during the week The topic we will be looking at is looking unto Jesus Looking unto Jesus If the instruction came to us that we should focus on Jesus Then how are we able to focus on the Lord Jesus? We need to know what it means to look unto Jesus To focus on him in times like this We are in a day when all striving and all slings and both slings Does not satisfy the appetite of an average man An average eater The present economy of our nation has become so mean That the so called minimum wage can barely sustain a family for one week People are no more suffering and smiling They are now agitated Feeling overwhelming fear and worry with questions like What will become of me tomorrow? Praise the Lord I was in a place where I wanted to get a charger for a speaker And as I was speaking with the man selling The wife was sitting beside him And another customer walked in And was complaining about some of the products he purchased And it was the discussion that drifted into the economy of the nation The man said that the only thing that is cheap and free in Nigeria now is the air we breathe That every other thing is expensive And they were even praying for the previous former government to return That was how terrible it is And when I listened to the comment and the lamentation of that man I realized that there are so many people in the nation That are going through so great difficulties And it is a time like this that we need to know the right thing to do Man needs to know the right step to take in situations like this Situations like this have happened several or many times in the history of the world The bible recorded few of them Famine in the days of Abraham Famine in the days of Isaac We have a lot of people that Even in the days of Naomi The son of the scripture typos are here Naomi The bible says that her husband left Jerusalem They left the city of the Lord And went to Moab When things became hard for them So things like this have been happening But what were the expectations of God concerning his people? So those are the things we will be looking at today But before we look at those areas that the Lord wants us to look at I just want to briefly move upon the responses of people The general responses that you see around us today Number one is fear and worry When we see situations changes and things like this happens When it is becoming so difficult for people The standard of living has so much got dropped That it is very difficult for an average man to even eat rice per meal The thing, the result you see is fear People become worried That what will become of me tomorrow? What will I even eat tomorrow? What will I, how will I The job that you are doing, not that you are lazy I wonder how a lazy man would be living at this time Not that you are lazy but your earnings is even not sufficient I remember when a man, one of his Sunday school teachers At Ocean Parish was saying in one of our weekly service That even the salary cannot take you to the end of the month But this thing is not even happening alone in Nigeria I was speaking with a man from Portugal And he was, if the money that they hand The minimum wage there is far higher than that which we hand in Nigeria But he was still lamenting He said the money that they hand That cannot take them till the middle of the month That after the middle of the month Everybody is now struggling to even get to the end of the month That means this thing is not in a way global Looking into the news during the week I saw that the countries like Germany Have increased their minimum wage Hungary was planning to increase South Africa are also planning to increase A lot of countries are planning to increase And I now begin to look at it That is this thing happening globally But I cannot speak for other nations But I can speak for Nigeria The responses of people in Nigeria is fear You see it in the face of many people Then the people begin to seek help from another fellow human being They begin to remember their uncle or their auntie Their brother that is living overseas Somebody sent a message to me yesterday morning I woke up to see the message He was asking me to pray for him I believe him, yes He said he has two friends in Canada And he has been discussing with them To help him to get a visa And take him out of Nigeria to Canada So he was requesting for a prayer That his friends will remember him And get the visa for him And also help him to raise money For him to leave this nation And I realized that People begin, are now looking out of themselves Looking to other people Especially people who are not in the nation Then another thing that we see Response of the people that we see is Increased workload People now get to do more work than they usually do You see people who is now doing 3, 4, 5 jobs together They usually do 1 or 2 before But now they are just doing everything Just money must come in that my family must survive There is much more pressure upon them So these are the things that we are seeing around us Another response of the people Which is the example of Naomi That I gave during the introduction Is that people are trying to escape The economy of this nation And trying to go into the country With a fairer economy There are nations that their economy is better Than that which we have in Nigeria And people are doing everything to go And I even saw a quote He said even people want to leave Nigeria But now they cannot afford it Because everything has even become so high in price The cost of tickets to get a plane out of this nation Has doubled So somebody is looking for 1 million Naira or 2 million Naira before Now should be looking for 4 million Naira So it has become so difficult You cannot live in this nation And you cannot even run out of the nation I pray the Lord we are blessed in the name of Jesus Then lastly Many people are falling into the state of despondency That is into the state of dejection and depression Many people are just giving up on themselves They are giving up on life And they don't know what to do again And this message is exactly for people like this So we are going into the message What is the response of the believers in situations like this? Because in periods like this we come at least once in a man's lifetime At least It might happen 1 or 2 or 3 times But at least once in a man's lifetime How does God expect us to respond? I can tell you that everything happening in this nation right now Is orchestrated by God Praise the Lord I have not said that the Lord told me this But I deduce from the facts I deduce this from the experiences that I have gotten in my work with God And also from the relevant and related occurrences in the scriptures Hardship like this Farming like this Oppressions Are ways that God deals with His people Praise the Lord So it won't be surprising If you get to realize That God's hand is in what is happening in Nigeria The situation of the nation The situation of things in this country Has the hand of God in it Praise the Lord And whenever the Lord permits such as this to happen His desire is always to get His people to learn some lessons When the Lord allows situations to change and become so hard like this The Lord wants His people to learn some lessons In the days of Abraham He made Abraham to learn some lessons In the days of Isaac He made Isaac to learn some lessons Even in the days of Nahum He made him to learn some lessons And in our days He wants us to learn the same lessons And what is the lesson that He wants us to learn? One of the lessons that the Lord wants us to learn At this time Is to learn how to depend on Him He wants us to learn to focus on Him One of the things that comfort brings to man Is that comfort makes you to forget about God Comfort will make you to depend so much upon yourself Your achievements, you will believe that you got them by your hard work And once in a while The Lord will bring hardship He will make situations to change So much that you will realize that Everything that you do is failing Or whatever, no matter what you do It does not measure up to standards And God will now force people And make people to turn their gaze away from themselves To turn their gaze away from the government To turn their gaze away from their environment And turn it unto Him And this is one of the several lessons That the Lord wants people to learn When things become difficult like this Praise the Lord It doesn't remain like this forever It's just for a period of time We remember the COVID The COVID came The Lord's hand was in the COVID It wasn't the works of the devil It was God that was dealing with the heart The God was telling the heart That I am in control As I always say You know the scripture says that The God of this world referring to the devil By referring to the devil as the God of this world The Bible is not ascribing the control of this world And saying that the devil is in charge What the scripture is saying By referring to the devil as the God of this world Is that the devil is the God of the world system The system happening in governing the world The activities of man The events that is happening in the world The responses, the behaviors and the characters of man Is under the control of the devil In Ephesians chapter 2 verse 2 It talks about the prince that is ruling in the heart of the sons of disobedience Which is still referring to the devil The devil is the one ruling the life of unregenerated men And the world is full of unregenerated men Therefore he is the God of the world But there is a kingdom that is in the world that does not belong to the devil And that is the kingdom of God The devil is not in charge Praise the Lord And the governance of the world I mean the earth And everything that happens in the earth Is not in the hand of the devil It is in the hand of God The devil can rule the heart of the people that belongs to him But he does not dictate what happens in the world as in general God is the God of the universe And he will make this He will confirm this to the heart of every man that wants to listen and hear That the scientists are not in charge of this world The governments of the world are not in charge God can invent nuclear weapons and mass destructive weapons And yet he does not make the world to submit to them I was listening to a man of God He said they have invented weapons That in a split of second it can destroy the entire world And wipe every living thing out of this world Then the man concluded that statement Even if the Lord allows them to release that weapon It will still preserve its own Its own will still be preserved Why? The reason is that man can go this far But God can go beyond what man can do He can stop the power of the weapon of man And limit it to destroy only those he wants to destroy The COVID, the law concluded Despite the medical situation of Africa COVID was not so rampant in Africa like it was in the developed countries God was the one orchestrating this And now coming to what is happening in our nation The law says focus on me If you want to achieve the achievements And you do not want the lions of this time to eat you up It says focus on me Now I ask the question here I said how do you focus on Jesus? How do we focus on Jesus? Let's open our Bible to Hebrews chapter 12 verse 2 We look at the commission where it is written That looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith Hebrews chapter 12 verse 2 It says looking unto Jesus the author and the finisher of our faith Who for the joy that was said before him endured the cross Despising the shame and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God If you will look unto Jesus If you will focus unto Jesus You must have faith That is one thing that is emphasized in that passage It says looking unto Jesus the author and the finisher of our faith That means with faith you can look unto him Now that statement the author and the finisher of our faith In the Greek literally means the source and the perfecter of our faith That is our faith The source of our faith is in Christ If you want to be full of faith You must be full of Christ You cannot have faith without Christ There are natural faiths Natural faith all man have natural faith We are sitting on this chair believing that this chair is able to hold our weight That is a natural faith But there is a supernatural faith That not any man has it except those who have the spirit of God in them And it is only by that supernatural faith that we were saved Our salvation was earned by that supernatural faith And this supernatural faith is the faith that we are referring to in this passage Referring saying that looking unto Jesus the source and the perfecter of our faith Without Jesus we cannot have faith Praise the Lord And without faith we cannot succeed and overcome the difficulties of this time How do we look unto Jesus? Number 2 We are going to consider the context of that Hebrews chapter 12 verse 2 We are going to consider the context Before we look at the context I want us to know the condition of the people that the book of Hebrews were written to The book of Hebrews was written to the believing Jews in the days of the apostle In those days Jesus has died and ascended to heaven And some people had believed The Bible says that Peter preached and 3,000 were saved 3,000 souls And in another time 5,000 souls were saved These souls a majority of them a large number of them were the Jews And one of the doctrines of Jesus is that now that you are in Christ Now that you are a child of God you must not continue in the ordinances of Moses So the tabernacle, the temple, the worship and everything that they do in the temple Does not bind on a child of God That is the dispensation of the law And Jesus has fulfilled the law and put an end to the law Therefore the law is no more binding on us but grace And grace is Jesus So the ways of the believers is totally different from the ways of the normal Jews Therefore they were called out of Judaism And now they are no more going to the temple to offer animals because Jesus Christ has died This brought persecution upon these believing Jews The other Jews they were now seen them as apostates That these people have left the religion of their fathers And now we know the story of Saul of Tharsus How he was killing the believers, how he was throwing them into prison They were confiscating their properties Many of them lost their farms, many of them lost their buildings Many of them lost their possessions and the persecution was so much at And now Paul was writing to them This is the background of this book of Hebrews So the whole book of Hebrews was a letter written to the suffering Jews The suffering believers in Christ that are Jews And one of the exhortations of Paul to them was this Look unto Jesus, despite the persecution and tribulations that you are going through Focus your gaze on Jesus, only that can save you So let's look at Hebrews chapter 12 verse 1 Hebrews chapter 12 verse 1 It says therefore we also since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses Let us lay aside every weight and the sin which so easily ensnares us And let us run with endurance the race that is set before us Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith Who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross Despising the shame and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God For consider him, that is consider Jesus Who endured such hostility from sinners against himself Lest you become weary and discouraged in your soul The situation in the nation of Israel in that time Was so discouraging and to weary the people down And Paul wrote to them And let us look at the point he gave to them number 1 He said there is a cloud of witnesses that is washing There are people that has gone through difficulties that we are going through now I gave example of Abraham, of Isaac, of Nahum and many other people And the bible in Hebrews chapter 11 listed many giants of faith That through faith they overcame And these people formed the cloud of witnesses They are looking at us right now How we are going to behave ourselves in this period How we are going to compose ourselves in this period They have gone through the same experiences And now they are watching, not just like you watching a football match Or watching a drama on your TV They are watching us, they are sharing us up And they are encouraging us that we have been there This is how it has always been like But if you will look unto Jesus, if you will focus your gaze on Jesus He will see you through So there is a cloud of witnesses that is washing Number 2, he told them that they must lay aside every weight and sin For you to be able to look unto Jesus You must put away every weight of sin You must put away every burden You must not allow the situations or the things you are going through to weigh you down When you begin to look at your situations And begin to consider the predicament that you are in Begin to consider how you are struggling to make ends meet You should take your gaze away from Jesus These are weights, you must let them go So if you are going to look at Jesus successfully You must let go of every weight and sin 10, run with endurance Run with endurance I remember some years ago, I was praying fervently to God concerning some matters And that night, I prayed almost 4 hours And then the Lord spoke to me and said, learn endurance God wants us to endure God will allow us to go through situations that will cause us to endure Because the endurance will work patience in us Patience is one of the grace of a believer Jesus Christ is a patient Savior God the Father is a patient God If God had not been patient enough, He would have destroyed us long ago But He was patient with us, waiting for that day that we would realize and acknowledge Him And come to Him And now that we have come to Him, He will also teach us Because we are the image of God here on earth And He is conforming us to the image of Christ And one of the attributes and character of Christ is patience He will bring situations that will work out patience in us So He encourages us to endure In this time, endurance is the key Learn to endure the hardship, praise the Lord Now, when we are enduring, it does not mean that we are giving up on the situation It does not mean that you are not trying to make ends meet It does not mean that you are not trying to make sure that your family lives well But what endurance means is that Do not allow it to get into your heart, into your soul To the point that it brings detection and depression upon you Because no matter how the things that you are going through, it is capable The devil is able to use it to make you to begin to see the wrong side of God He will begin to tell you that if God actually loves you If you are actually the son of God He should not have allowed you to go through what you are going through The devil will make use of this moment He will use this opportunity to begin to bring discouragement to your soul And begin to make you to see that if you give up in this way and this walk of life that you are in And come to the place where you can express yourself and enjoy yourself You will continue to live in this hardship The devil will make us to see the wrong side of God that does not exist But God allows this to happen Another example is Job God permitted Job to suffer God's hand was behind the sufferings of Job And God was with Job through the sufferings The devil was lamenting The devil could not get to Job directly He went through his wife and told Job Praise God and die That is what the devil wants from every believer at this time He wants you to give up on God He wants you to take your gaze away from Jesus He does not want you to focus on Jesus And Jesus also is using this period to test your faith Like he tests that of Job Will you allow the devil to take your gaze away from me? He says, run with the endurers They are looking by faith, not by sight What are we to look at? When we are looking at Jesus by faith What are we seeing? We are seeing the promises that the Lord Jesus has given to us That is what we are going through We know that Jesus will give us success He said we should be cheerful He said even though we go through tribulations and persecutions in the world He said we should be cheerful because he has overcome We are looking at that overcoming We are seeing ourselves as one of the people that we overcome with Jesus So when we are looking at Jesus with faith We are looking at the end of the situation We are seeing the end of the hardship We are seeing the end of the difficulties We are seeing Jesus victorious at the end And we are part of that victory So when we are looking at Jesus We are not just looking at a person But we are looking at the results We are looking at the end Jesus Christ said, I am the Alpha and the Omega He is the beginning and the end He has gone ahead of us to the end And he is preparing the end for us So we are seeing the glory and the crown of glory and of righteousness that he has prepared for us Therefore we cannot give up We are focused on Jesus And when our faith and our gaze is focused on Jesus We will not be able to be swept We will not be easily swept away from the race of Christ Of Christianity Praise the Lord Then Looking unto Jesus also means Letting the mind of Christ to be in you Looking unto Jesus It also means Letting the mind of Christ to be in you Philippians chapter 2 Let this mind be in you that was also in Christ Jesus How can you look to Jesus if you are having a different mindset From the mindset of Jesus The only way you can look unto Jesus Is to have the same mindset with him And what type of mind does Jesus have? A mind that does not look at the present persecutions or tribulations or situation But a mind that focuses on the joy that is set before him Let's look at Hebrews chapter 12 verse 2 That same passage It is looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith Who for the joy that was set before him endures The mind of Christ is the mind that looks at the joy that is set before us There is a joy that the Lord has promised every believer He said everyone that overcomes He will give them of the tree of life to eat There are many things Read the book of Revelation from chapter 1 to chapter 3 There are many things he promised all overcomers When you are looking unto Jesus You are not looking at the present situation But you are looking at the joy that is set before you A mind of Christ is a mind that despises shame A mind of Christ is a mind that endures hostility A mind of Christ is a mind that trusts in Jesus alone A mind that does not... What does it mean to despise shame? Despise the situation you are taking it as if it is not real It does not exist You are despising it The hunger is coming and eating your stomach You are saying hunger you are not there Because Jesus will feed me That is you are despising that hunger Maybe you are being mocked in the place of work And you are just not concerned People are saying different things about you or against you You just ignore them You are despising them That is what it means by despising You give no regards to them So that is the same type of mindset of Jesus Despite the hostility of the Pharisees Of the Sadducees Of the Erudeans Of the people of Israel He despised them He continued to do the work that the Father has given him to do He healed on the Sabbath day Even though there were a lot of criticism against that He did not stop him from doing what the Father has sent him to do So that is the mind of Christ A mind that focuses on Jesus alone A mind that calls on Jesus When the situation is overwhelming Focusing on Jesus means calling on Jesus You are not calling on your pocket You are not calling on your friends You may ask your friends for support or help But you have first gone to Jesus Calling on Jesus Jesus cannot direct you This is the step you should take So a mind of Christ is a mind that calls on Jesus And a mind of Christ is the one that is aware And appreciates the presence of God A mind that is aware and appreciates the presence of God For us to be able to look at Jesus We must be aware of his presence around us We must be aware of his presence in us For us to be able to focus our gaze on him We must know that his presence is with us Praise the Lord This takes us to the last point Under earth we look at Jesus And in this aspect I will be giving us some biblical examples Of people who have looked on Jesus And all of them I brought them from the New Testament Because they speak more closely to us The first example is the example of walking on water When Peter saw Jesus When the disciples saw Jesus walking on water And Jesus said to them I am the one And Peter said if it is you Bid me to come And Jesus Christ said come Let's read this Matthew 14 verse 28 And Peter answered him and said Lord if it is you Command me to come to you on the water So he said come And when Peter had come down out of the boat He walked on the water to go to Jesus But when he saw Let's take note When Peter saw the wind that was voiced through us He was afraid and beginning to sing He cried out saying Lord save me Jesus told Peter come And Peter stepped out in faith Looking at Jesus in faith These are examples Of everything I have said I am bringing them to us by using the biblical examples I said the only one key ingredient of looking on Jesus is faith And when Peter stepped out of the boat He was looking at Jesus by faith And the bible says in that verse 30 It says And when he saw the wind When his eyes were taken away from Jesus In this time the wind that is blowing If you will focus and look at that wind It can sweep you away So this time No matter what is blowing around you Don't look at what the wind is doing Keep on looking at Jesus As long as Peter was looking at Jesus He was walking on water As long as we continue to look at Jesus We will be walking on the situation We will only be hearing how the archipelago is affecting people out there But it will not get close to us Not because we are so different naturally But because there is a supernatural power that backs us up Which is Jesus Christ So as long as Peter was looking at him But when he was looking away he began to think And what did he do? Are you looking away from Jesus? Don't give up Peter cried out to the Lord In the example I said the mind of Christ Is the mind that falls on Jesus Whether you have looked away from Jesus And you are not looking at your situation And you are not sinking down into your situation Cry out to Jesus When you cry out to Jesus He will save you Say Lord save me And immediately Jesus stretched out his hand And called him And said to him O you of little faith Why did you doubt? Doubt will take your faith away from Jesus And when they are gone into the boat The wind ceases There is a lot of message in this place When you look at Jesus And you continue to look at Jesus And the Lord Jesus holds your hand into the boat The earth ceases Praise the Lord You see looking at Jesus the end result It takes away the wind There was wind when Peter was walking There was wind when he was sinking There was wind when he cried out to the Lord Save me But as soon as the Lord caught him And took him into the boat The Bible says And the wind ceased As long as Jesus You give yourself to Jesus For Jesus to lead you The wind will cease The second example We are looking at three examples The second example is the example of bailing of the water The example of bailing of the water In Matthew chapter 8 Jesus had just preached And he told the disciples Let us go to the other side of the sea And as they were going The wind came again And the storm came Matthew 8 verse 23 Matthew 8 verse 23 Now when he got into a boat His disciples followed him And suddenly a great tempest arose on the sea So that the boat was covered with the waves But he was asleep They entered into the boat And the boat began And then suddenly Suddenly a wave arose At the time Jesus was asleep Then his disciples They were trying to bail the water I don't know if you have had the experience of Being in a canoe or in a boat When the storm is pouring water into the canoe The way to save yourself Is to pour the water back into the ocean So they were trying to bail the water back into the ocean And when they realized that the more The more water that is coming They let their bailing In a short time the boat is going to sink They cried out to Jesus In verse 25 Then his disciples came to him And awoke him Saying Lord save us We are Pharisees These people learned to focus on Jesus again By calling on the Lord Jesus They said Lord save us We are Pharisees But he said to them Verse 26 Why are you fearful? O ye of little faith Then he arose and he rebuked the wind and the sea And there was a great calm So the men marveled Saying who can this be That even the wind and the sea obey him Jesus was in the boat with them But that does not stop the storm from coming Jesus is in our life with us But that does not stop us from experiencing The hardship in the nation at this time But there is a wind out Calling on Jesus They called on him and said Lord save us We are Pharisees And the Lord rebuked the storm The Lord will rebuke the situation That is affecting our life in the mighty name of Jesus Every wind that is blowing contrary to our life The Lord rebukes them now in the name of Jesus As we call unto the Lord after this message The Lord will rebuke and silence every storm in our life In the mighty name of Jesus The last example I will give is the beautiful gate experience Peter and John had gone to the beautiful gate To the temple And there was a man that was named at that gate And we know the story very well It was expecting alms from Peter But Peter told him Look on us They were a representative of Jesus They were not telling the man to look at them Because if they were telling the man to look at them They should be able to solve the man's problem By giving him silver or gold that the man was expecting But he said Silver and gold we do not have But this is what we have The name of Jesus So they were telling the man You are lame Your condition has reduced you to this beggar But now look at us And see Jesus in us As much as the man was looking at them And as they diverted his attention to Jesus Because they told the man That in the name of Jesus So at the mentioning of the name of Jesus The man would begin to take his gaze away from them And begin to look at that Jesus Because he is still aware of the Jesus that lives Jesus just died He knows about the miracles that Jesus has done Maybe in his life he has wished That he would have an encounter with Jesus And Jesus would have made him whole But throughout the lifetime of Jesus He never had that opportunity with Jesus But these are the disciples of Jesus Standing right in front of him And they were telling him Look on us And now they mentioned that name That he has been longing to hear Jesus And when they mentioned Jesus He took away his gaze from Peter and John And focused his gaze on Jesus And Peter said In the name of Jesus Rise up and walk And by the time they grabbed him And pulled him up His feet were shrunk again What is impossible for Jesus? As long as we put our gaze and our focus on him No matter what is happening all around us It will not touch us It will not get to us It will not enter into our family I pray that our faith and our gaze is fixed And as it is fixed on Jesus We will not take it away from him in the name of Jesus And as we are looking on Jesus Every situation that is unpleasant in our life Will be removed in the mighty name of Jesus The Lord told Moses He said he made a brazen serpent And hanged it The brazen serpent is a figure of Jesus He said as many that will look at that brazen serpent Will not die of the serpent bite As many that will look on Jesus The hearty bites of this period Will not harm them So the conclusion is this Will you focus on Jesus today? Will you focus on Jesus today? We have learnt That focusing on Jesus requires faith Focusing on Jesus requires you believing in Jesus That he is able to deliver you and save you from the predicament That he is able to deliver you and save you from the hardships And only him Not Jesus and plus somebody else Not Jesus plus the technique But Jesus alone Focusing on Jesus means enduring Enduring whatever you are going through As you continue to look on Jesus Waiting for him to intervene for you It might not be the moment you begin to look on Jesus That situations will begin to turn for good The Lord Jesus may allow you to learn endurance We also said that for you to focus on Jesus You must have the mind of Christ And the mind of Christ is a mind that does not look at the present situation But a mind that is set on the joy that is set before him There is a joy that is set before us There is a victory that is set before us Our mind is set on that victory And when our mind is set on that victory It will help us to despise whatever situation that is around us And as we despise those situations and focus on Jesus Jesus will steal that storm and calm the ocean And I pray this will be our testimony in the mighty name of Jesus In a few minutes I want us to focus on Jesus I have said that we are going to worship the Lord We are going to worship the Lord for a few minutes And as we are worshipping the Lord Let us put our mind on Jesus Don't just sing the songs Don't just meditate on the songs But look at Jesus As you are worshipping the Lord Just begin to see Jesus in your situation Begin to see Jesus in your life Begin to see Jesus in your family Begin to see Jesus in your home And the Lord Jesus will begin to move in your life The Lord Jesus will move in our midst this morning in the mighty name of Jesus Let us rise up to our feet The Lord Jesus Christ said Wherever two or three are gathered in my name He said it will be in their midst We are gathered in the name of Jesus And the Lord Jesus is in our midst right now And this is a very good moment to practicalize what we have learnt Focusing on Jesus We are going to focus on Jesus this moment Let us begin to worship the Lord in our hearts Let us begin to worship Him in our hearts And call Him name Let us begin to exalt His holy name And magnify Him for who He is Our God is the God of all The creator of the heaven and earth The God of the universe He is the king of glory He is the stealer of the storm He is the calmer of the ocean Let us worship and bless His holy name As we are worshipping Him and blessing Him Let us take our gaze and our attention away from our environment Let us begin to see Jesus sitting on the throne Let us begin to see Jesus right now in our midst He is glorified and crowned in our midst Let us begin to exalt Him in our hearts Let us begin to exalt Him in our minds And begin to exalt and magnify Him Let us begin to glorify Him As a worship song we begin Let us continue to magnify Him in our hearts In the mighty name of Jesus The wrath of the Lord never ceases Mercy never comes to an end Looking unto Jesus the author and creator of our faith As we look unto Him He will walk in our favor As we look unto Him He who is seated in our midst on His throne He who is glorified in our midst right now He who dwells in the heart of every one of us He who dwells in the heart of all believers all over the world The one who has all powers The one who is able to part the red sea
