In addition to krill, there are other strange organisms in the deep sea. Pink ctenophores glow and look like goo. Amphipods and glow-in-the-dark lanternfish also exist. Baby squid can change colors and shoot ink for protection. addition to krill we find many other mysterious alien-like organisms that evolved to life in the deep sea. These pink ctenophores look like simple blobs of goo but when they're alive they shine a bioluminescent light show. Crustaceans like these amphipods are abundant and look like something out of science fiction. Glow-in-the-dark lanternfish emerge from the depths in vast numbers. We even encountered tiny but intelligent baby squid which can already change colors at will. One squid looked completely gray until we discovered that it was actually filled with ink which it shot out as a defense mechanism.
