In this spooky tale, a headless figure on a horse haunts an enchanted region. Some say it's the ghost of a Hansean trooper whose head was blown off in battle. The ghost rides around, searching for his head, and can be seen by people hurrying in the dark. His haunts extend to the nearby roads and a churchyard. This terrifying story was made possible with the help of Free Music Archive and Audacity. Stay tuned for more spooky stories. Good evening ghouls, goblins, and gremlins alike. I'm your host, Ethan Clark, and tonight you're in for a fright. Before we share the story of The Legend of the Sleepy Hollow and Ickathot Drain's plight, beware you're in for a scare when the horrifying Ben Fisher reads off this excerpt. Unexperienced, however, that haunts this enchanted region and seems to be commander-in-chief of all the powers of the air, is the apparition of a figure on horseback without a head. It is said by some to be a ghost of a Hansean trooper whose head had been carried away by a cannonball in some nameless battle during the Revolutionary War, and whoever it is seen by the country, folk hurrying along in the gloom of night, as if on wings of the wind. His haunts are not confined to the valley, but extend at times to the adjacent roads and especially to the vicinity of a church at no great distance. Indeed, certain of the most authentic historians of those parts, who have been careful in collecting and collating the floating facts concerning this specter, allege that the body of the trooper having been buried in the churchyard, the ghost rides forth to the scene of battle, a nightly quest of his head, and that the rushing speed with which he sometimes passes along the hollow like a midnight blast is owing to his being belated, and in a hurry to get back to the churchyard before daybreak. And that concludes our terrifying tale of the Hessian soldier who arose from the veil. Stay tuned for the next spooky story, and remember, this could not have been done without the help of Free Music Archive, which is such a dramatic originative by Inspector J, and a free sound for the new spooky intro song, Funny Darkness, by Audio Coffee. A special thank you to Audacity for the help in making this episode, and to SoundCloud for the upload.
