Clare Smith discusses her recent experiences and the importance of resilience and connection. She emphasizes the need to adapt to new styles of working and incorporate wellbeing into one's routine. Clare also mentions her involvement in community events and building the Thrive Legal community. The episode features an interview with Molly Pearce, Head of Marketing for EMEA at Meta and an endurance athlete, who shares insights on how endurance sports have influenced her personal and professional life. Clare and Helen will reflect on the conversation and share their key takeaways. Helo, welcome to the new episode of How To Thrive with me, Clare Smith. My name is Clare Smith, and this is Clare Saunders, and this is Helen. How are you doing? How's your week been? It's been actually since we last spoke. Did the Easter Bunny come to you? Oh, I don't think my Easter Bunny got that message, but that's okay, because it's all about moderation. It's been a fun few weeks in my camp. I think I still felt a bit lost. It's been a bit weird. I posted this on LinkedIn, and people who listen to this and follow me might have seen it, but I really leant into the resilience wheel in a way that I've always thought about it, but never actually tangibly done it in that way before, but I was really feeling offbeat and lost my mojo a bit. I suppose I realised that my connection quota was down a lot, and I'm quite a sociable person and I enjoy talking to people, so I really leant into that and was really buoyed by it. Apparently, the resilience wheel does work, or at least for me, so that's good to know. Yes, but... Yes, absolutely, and throughout my working, this is the first time that I've worked for myself. This is the first time that I've not been part of a big team, that I've not gone into an office, or I've not had an office base, and I think it's just learning and adapting and realising how you can incorporate what you need for your wellbeing and performance, to be honest, into your new style of working, so it's been good. But also about leaning in and planning community events, and we're doing a lot to really build on the Thrive Legal community, lots of exciting things happening there, so plenty to be hanging on with. It's just finding the time to have those coffee stop chats with people, albeit virtually. So today, we're talking to Molly Pearce, who is Head of Marketing for EMEA at Meta, but also is an endurance athlete. That wiggly networking path that you have, I was put in contact with her as someone who might be interesting to have a conversation with, and she really was. So we chatted a lot about the learnings that she takes from being an endurance athlete and brings into business, and how it shaped her as both an individual and as a professional, I suppose. So have a listen, everybody, let us know what you think, and Helen and I will be reflecting on the conversation and what our key takeaways were at the end. So keep listening. Enjoy.
