A man's wife chases him with a gun after catching him doing something wrong. He escapes and hides in the garage. Then, the story abruptly shifts to a dream about a medicine man who learns that everything is made of light. The transcript then transitions to a book that the reader is about to start, giving a warning that not everyone will understand it. The author discusses different ways to start a story and then talks about disillusionment in life, including finding out that dreams aren't real, equality is a myth, and careers can be disappointing. The transcript ends with a random advertisement for a vacation in Cincinnati. Hi, this is Everett Meadows, and this is my voiceover demo My wife was packing a .32 caliber pistol It was the first thing I saw it came around the corner followed by her and she came fast Yelling and I mean yelling Bobby you son of a bitch you bastard I Didn't wait around for the rest she was mad as hell I Scrambled into my pants, but all I saw was the black barrel of that gun Coming closer and closer too close. I stumbled Both my legs caught in the same trouser leg and tore ripping those canary yellow strides damn. I hopped staggered Fell was up again, and then I ran It sounded like Barbara was right on my tail That screaming was loud, but my heart was pounding louder and louder She was seriously pissed there. I heard her daughter Linda behind her she was screaming too. Don't shoot him. Don't shoot Barbara's response made me pick up the pace. I'm not gonna shoot the bastard. I'm gonna kill him oh Man, I was like Jesse Owens flying Zip out of the bedroom along the landing and down the stairs in one leap I Was out the house. I had to drop on her then I hit the driveway in my bare feet The sharp gravel sliced into my skin and I sunk to my knees Maybe I could make it to the car It was a long shot, but the only one I got I ducked into the garage slam the wooden door shut and jammed myself against it hard I Hung on to that handle like my life Depended on it. I looked around over my shoulder and there was the mercury all ready to rock and roll The key the key where was the key on the counter in the kitchen or in the ignition? By this time Barbara had caught up now she was on the other side of the door tugging and twisting at the handle Trying to rattle the thing off its hinges. I Gripped that handle real tight. I couldn't get into the car now if I wanted to Come on, you bastard. She screamed Are you gonna open up? I Didn't have time to answer because she shot me Barbara for one of those 32 caliber slugs right across my scalp 3,000 years ago there was a human Just like you and me who lived near a city surrounded by mountains The human was studying to become a medicine man To learn the knowledge of his ancestors, but he didn't completely agree with everything. He was learning in his heart He felt There must be something more One day as he slept in a cave. He dreamed that he saw his own body sleeping He came out of the cave on the night of a new moon The sky was clear and he could see millions of stars then Something happened inside of him that transformed his life forever. He looked at his hands He felt his body and he heard his own voice say I am made of light I Am made of stars He looked at the stars again and he realized that it's not the stars that create light But rather light that creates the stars Everything is made of light. He said and in the space in between Isn't empty and he knew that everything that exists is one living being and that Light is the messenger of life because it is alive and contains all information Whoever you are and Whatever your reasons clearly you made the right damn decision to sit your ass down and read the most important book of your life So since you're here, let's begin You're about to read a whole lot of shit in this book and trust me the knowledge isn't for all of you But I know for a fact that some of you will get what I'm talking about Who are those people you ask? If you have to ask then ain't you because those people know who the fuck they are Now people have different ideas on where and how to start a story Some people like to start in the middle By saying some shit that sounds weird because you don't know what the fuck came before it The problem with that is if you don't know where the fuck you've been You're gonna have a hard time figuring out where the hell you're going other more creative people like to start shit toward the end then jump to the beginning and Then wrap back around to the end again, you know what I'm talking about It's what they do in every movie about a singer Movies about people like Ray Charles James Brown and just so you don't think I only watch movies about black people Johnny Cash all of those movies Always start with the dude looking tired and old as fuck Like we're catching him a day and a half before he dies He's always sitting somewhere reflecting on his life as he stares at something like a clock or a glass of water or some shit All of a sudden everything goes black for a second and then across the screen We see the name of some tiny-ass town like Broken Foot, Alabama or chip to Tennessee and a date from years ago At this point, we know we are in a flashback What happens the first time you find out that your dreams just ain't real don't it hurt First time you find out ain't no such thing as the tooth fairy. I mean you kind of knew but you still wanted to believe Same thing with Santa Claus you kind of knew But you really wanted to believe and then there was equality You had learned that there was this Constitution Bill of Rights and oh, yeah The Declaration of Independence where all men were created equal then you found out that your ass wasn't equal You kind of knew But you really wanted to believe and then there was love and marriage You hooked up with your high school sweetheart Then you went to some porkchop-eaten Congregation screwing honest and spoiled buttermilk reverend and got yourself married only to find out That sticks and stones may break your bones But the divorce will murder your ass you kind of knew But you just didn't want to believe it and then there was your career You know the job that was supposed to reward you if you work real hard kept your nose clean and did the right thing The one that either promoted the guy you trained or had a cutback Just when you thought that you had made an impact They screwed you on general principle that dream You kind of knew but well You get the point Twinkle twinkle little star how I wonder what you are up above the world so high Like a diamond in the sky Twinkle twinkle little star how I wonder what you are when the blazing Sun is gone When he nothing shines upon Then you show your little light twinkle twinkle all the night twinkle twinkle little star How I wonder What you are?
