Nothing to say, yet
The speaker discusses the concept of the authentic self versus the ego, emphasizing how the ego is never satisfied. Examples are given, such as Donald Trump's desire for more towers and Adolf Hitler's ambition to take over the world. The speaker also mentions personal experiences, like seeking out sex in relationships, but finding it unsatisfying. Living an authentic life is advocated as a way to avoid the never-ending desires of the ego. I just want to do a very quick chat here about this concept which I think really hit home and that's again getting back to the whole theme of the authentic self versus the ego and how we choose to live our lives and our decisions and daily habits and thoughts. The thing about the ego is it is never satisfied. We see that in other people. We see that in Donald Trump with his 60 towers, in Robert Mugabe with his power. We see that in Adolf Hitler wanting to take over the world, but we see it in all our lives. That's why people, if you base your life around satisfying the ego, you're going to keep feeding it and keep feeding it and keep feeding it and you'll never be satisfied and that relates to all those things, money, sex. In my own relationships I've continued to seek out sex and it doesn't lead anywhere. The ego will never be satisfied and that's ultimately one of the reasons why we want to live an authentic life because the ego is just a bottomless pit.
