Chase Hollinger and his mom, Kimberly Hollinger, discuss the city of Pittsburgh on a podcast. Kimberly, who was born and raised in Pittsburgh, talks about her love for the city and its sports teams. She mentions that Pittsburgh has transformed over the years and has become a hotspot for tourism and new residents. The city offers a variety of activities, including sports events, concerts, and a revitalized downtown area. Kimberly recommends trying the pizza at a place called Fiore and exploring the University of Pittsburgh campus. She also mentions the city's diverse food scene and the zoo as must-visit attractions. The podcast concludes with gratitude for the conversation and a shout-out to the Steelers. Good afternoon. My name is Chase Hollinger and I'm here today on my podcast and I will be talking about the lovely city of Pittsburgh. I'm here today with Kimberly Hollinger, my mom, who was born and raised in Pittsburgh. Good afternoon, Mom. Hello, Chase. How are you today? I'm good. How are you? I'm good. So, how long did you live in Pittsburgh? Well, I was born in 1970 and I was there for 18 years until I went to college. Then I moved back to Pittsburgh in 1994 and I was there until 2003. That's awesome. So, when you were living there, what would you say was your favorite thing to do around the city and stuff like that? Pittsburgh has a lot to offer. I'm a huge sports fan, so I loved going to the Steelers game and they also offer the Pirates and the Penguins, which is their hockey team. The city bleeds black and gold, so anything sports related is a really great time. There's lots to do around the actual sports arenas and stadiums. The last time I was back in Pittsburgh was to see the Taylor Swift concert, which was really amazing. She filled out the stadium, which I don't think has ever been done. I'm not sure, but I know it hasn't been done by a musician. So, Pittsburgh is constantly developing and it's become a hotspot for new tourists and new residents. Why would you say that is? There was a time that Pittsburgh wasn't looked upon as the best city. They call it the Steel Town because of all the steel mills, but it has changed so much in the last 30 years. It's a mecca for medical. The colleges are amazing. The tech industry is booming there. They've revitalized the downtown area. They've revitalized all around where the stadiums are and have made it easier to get to those places. Honestly, they had an issue with all the young people once they graduated high school leaving, but they're all moving back there now because there's just so much to do from when they revitalized the town. That's awesome. I personally can say that I love Pittsburgh as well. Lastly, if there's any recommendations you can give for tourists or anything listening, what would you do if you were going to Pittsburgh? The first thing I would do is what I always do. They have the best pizza in the world at this little place called Fiore. The whole area, the downtown area, I'm partial to it because my father, which is your grandfather, built a lot of the buildings down there and the architecture is just beautiful. The University of Pittsburgh, their campus is just amazing. The food scene is just wonderful. They have so many different ethnic eateries and little pockets of re-gentrification in the city. It's a great city to explore. It was a great city growing up. I have often wanted to move back there and was hoping to move back there at some point. Other than that, there's just so much to do. I'd recommend their zoo. I love their zoo. Their zoo is amazing. That's all the time we have for today. Thank you so much, Mom, for coming on and sharing your thoughts. Thank you guys for listening and have a great afternoon. Go Steelers!
