The speaker believes that daily physical education (PE) is important for students in the school district. They argue that physical health in America is low and having PE every day can help improve it. They also mention that regular physical activity can improve academic performance. PE helps develop social skills through teamwork and playing games. Being physically active also has a positive impact on mental health, which is important for youth who are experiencing high levels of mental health issues. The speaker's goal as a PE teacher is to teach students lifelong healthy habits and make them more physically active. They believe that having PE every day will help achieve this goal. All right, so for this audio assignment, my first one will be Audacity, I believe I'm saying that right. And since I am being a physical education teacher, I thought it'd be very interesting if we could talk about why it's important, in my opinion, to have physical education every day in the school district, from elementary school all the way to high school. So, the first point that I kind of wanted to bring up is that physical health in America right now is very, at all times, low, so we are the most obese country in the world, as well as our children overall are not doing very well, and we do not have a lot of students that are very physically able right now, or where they should be, in my opinion. So having PE every day, I think, would be a great way to kind of help get the health back. And then another point that I thought was super interesting, talking about a lot of my classes, is that if you do have PE every day or do some type of physical activity, you want to try to have like 20 minutes of intense to an hour of just mediocre physical activity a day. If you can do that for those five days a week, your academic performance will get increased. So that kind of means like, for every time that you work out or just are active during the day, for the rest of the day or the rest of the week even, you will have a boost in your academic performance. So like test taking, people are focusing, homework and stuff like that, that's a huge plus right there. Another point I thought was very cool and interesting, I think, as well, is that you develop a lot of social skills. So I think it's very important to work on teamwork and working with people, and that's what you do in PE. You play a lot of games, like basketball, kickball, a lot of stuff like that. So I think it's very unique and important that you should have and build those skills, and that's a great way you can do that through PE. As well, at least I know personally, any time that I'm physically active or I'm moving around a lot, I can totally tell I have a stronger mental health, like I'm less stressed out in general, less anxiety when I'm moving around. That's very important for kids right now because our mental health in youth right now is at an all-time high as well. In general, I think if we can work out every day or not even work out, just be physically active every day, that can really help our mental health and overall boost it so it's not so low as it should be right now. And lastly, so I think this is my goal, will be my goal as a PE teacher, so I want to try to teach kids lifelong habits that are healthy and make them physically active. And that's, if I can teach them five days a week instead of twice or even once, obviously then they'll be more, they'll want to work out more and overall be healthier in their life. And that's my goal as a PE teacher, to try to teach youth how to be healthy as well as just being an active individual in society. So these are some points why I think that PE is super important, why it should be every single day.
