They agree that the show is not appropriate for young viewers and recommend watching something else. welcome back to the sillies with Callum and Emily what are we talking about today Emily we're talking about the hit Netflix show Scott Pilgrim takes off I remember that show sad I can't watch anymore cuz that dumb new rule yeah about everyone having to pay for their individual Netflix accounts I know it's so stupid I was just about to watch it as well yeah I really like that show but you know what it's rated I want to let my little sister watch it I think it's rated M but I only think it should be I think it should be higher that's the topic of today oh really can you please tell me about the themes the themes are a mild in impact as they are moderate sense of threats but many require a mature outlook oh yeah due to the show being in the action genre the violence is permitted but also may require a mature outlook I think I also think a lot of offensive language has been used throughout the show what do you know about the drug use in the series the drug use in M rated movies and TV shows is normally justified by context but in Scott Pilgrim takes off there is nothing implied although there are uses of tobacco I also know that nudity in M rated movies and TV shows is also justified by context but again there is nothing implied in the show although there are a couple of scenes where it is implied and then there's some scenes where it shows it just in front of you like the scene where Scott Pilgrim goes but the first episode where Scott Pilgrim goes back to Ramona's house do you remember this scene yeah I do remember that scene do you know what happened in the scene I just need the vague recap so they're both making tea right and Ramona gets a little bit cold so she decides to go change clothes yeah I remember that now and you get a full frontal view of everything which is other things should be for that rating I think it should at least be maybe an MA yeah maybe MA so let's jump to the next couple of episodes there's this episode where they're filming a movie about Scott Pilgrim's life because spoiler alert he dies and um it's about these two characters called what is their name I think vegan powers and well what was the second one like Wallace Wells anyway Wallace Wells is Scott's best friend and plays a role in the movie and he starts having a crush on vegan powers and then do you know what happens afterwards the gig I think vegan powers and starts to have similar feelings and then it's just like after that they take it like to a whole new level like any time they want to go do something Wallace yeah Wallace goes up a big powers and awesome it's like you want to go read lines in my trailer and then it was implied that they were having sex because like the trailer was shaken and it was just like they were sweaty afterwards there's like really weird that's why I don't think you know how the rating is the rating is only like g-rated so general for that kind of thing and um it definitely doesn't seem appropriate for your little sister yeah I think I will not show my little sister because honestly I think it's more for like a mature audience so she can go watch like Teletubbies or something yeah I agree with that that's such a good show so if you need to watch it you should and that's from the sillies Calum out and who's the rest Emily's out
