In adults, signs of dissociation include feeling disconnected from oneself and emotions, experiencing severe stress in relationships or work, perceiving distortions in people and surroundings, struggling to handle emotional or work-related stress, having a blurred sense of identity, and experiencing memory loss for specific time periods, events, people, and personal information. Moving on to signs and symptoms in adults, a sense of being separated from yourself and your emotions, severe stress or problems in relationship, work, or other important areas of life, thinking that people and things around you are distorted and not real, not being able to cope well with emotional or work-related stress, a blurred sense of your own identity, and memory loss, also called amnesia, of certain time periods, events, people, and personal information.
