The hosts of the Broken Clipboard podcast discuss potential early preseason MVP candidates in the NFL, including Joe Burrow, Patrick Mahomes, Josh Allen, and Jalen Hurts. They also talk about the difficulty of defensive players winning the MVP award. The hosts then discuss the Philadelphia Eagles and Kansas City Chiefs and debate which team has an easier path to the Super Bowl. They mention the tough competition in both the AFC and NFC, including teams like the Buffalo Bills, Cincinnati Bengals, Seattle Seahawks, and Detroit Lions. The hosts agree that the Eagles have a slightly easier path. They also discuss the rarity of repeat matchups in the Super Bowl. Hey y'all, this is the Broken Clipboard with Nolan and Ashby, we're going to cover some interesting topics today, we got all sorts of stuff, we got football, we got basketball, we got NHL, we got MLB, we got some rodeo, and we got Formula One. We're going to hit it, we're going to hit it hard, let's get it going, Ashby let's go. So first things first, let's talk a little NFL, there's a lot going on right now, but I want to know, Nolan, early preseason MVP candidates, who you got right now? Well, right now, I think we would be remiss, or we would be wrong to say that Patrick Holmes isn't a candidate, but if I had to pick right now, I'm saying Joe Burrow. I think Joe Burrow is in for a standout year, big time year this year, they beefed up their offense a line, and obviously they have that receiver core that they have, I mean outside of that, you got your other guys like Josh Allen, Jalen Hurts, and yeah, I'm going to throw it to you, I think we know my pick is Joe Burrow, let's hear who you are. I know amidst all the Bills controversy right now, with Stephon Diggs and everything that's going on there, I like Josh Allen this year, but I'm trying to like you were saying, can't count out Patrick Holmes, can't count out Joe Burrow. Another guy that you just, I know it's a new team, new system, everything like that, but you can't count out Aaron Rodgers. I mean, the Jets did a lot this year, they went out and got quite a few guys in free agency, which we'll go ahead and touch on a little bit later, but ultimately Aaron Rodgers has to be in that conversation. Yeah, I agree, I agree, 100%. Nothing against any defensive players, but outside of Aaron Donald, I don't see anybody personally sparking enough interest to be like, heck yeah, those guys are MVPs. Yeah, I totally agree with you on that, like when a couple years ago when there was a push for Aaron Donald to be the MVP, and he was the defensive player of the year, like he would have just out of this world, like you know, one of the greatest seasons we've seen as a defensive lineman, I mean that's what it takes for even a defensive player in general to even get considered. You have to have a season that's just out of this world insane, like, I mean, because you have all these quarterbacks and receivers that are just insanely putting up these numbers, like if you're not getting like 20 sacks and you know, being, you know, taking on triple teams and still making plays, I mean, or leading the league interceptions and all this, like you're not going to get it as a defensive player, like there's a lot of great defensive players out there, I love defensive players. I mean, you gotta go back to the old saying, and as cliche as it is, defense wins championships, but it's not just one defensive player wins a championship, it's a whole defensive team. And I totally agree, you gotta be putting up that 20 plus sacks, you gotta be fighting through triple teams and then, I don't care if it's stopping the run, play after play, or making sure that you're disrupting the pass if you can't get a sack, it's kind of hard for one player to kind of be the everything guy on that defensive side of the ball, especially when you got, like you were saying, your offensive side of the ball, you got guys that are putting numbers like crazy, so, and I mean, you think about it, quarterbacks, they're touching the ball every play, so, I mean, it's kind of, the offenses literally run through them, it doesn't matter if it's a run or a pass, they're touching the ball first. 100 percent, it's definitely 100 percent, it's no shade to those guys, but it's kind of what it is. Anybody else that's kind of on your radar, maybe, not quite there? Did you mention the two really good LSU receivers that are now in the NSO that we both have a love for, because they both play for our respective teams, did you mention those guys? I didn't mention them, but, I mean, we're talking about two guys that are really good guys that, two guys, and Justin Jefferson and Jamar Chase, that, I mean, you can't overlook them, they're making plays that are insane. Yeah, I think that they, again, kind of like, they're kind of like in the middle a little bit, because, yes, they're on offense, yes, they can put up some insane numbers, but for me, a receiver is like in the middle between the quarterbacks and the defensive players, because you're going to do well, but as a receiver, if you do well, you're going to be fine, but the problem is that everything that you do, the quarterback gets also some credit for, so like, in all reality, it kind of all, like, zeroes itself out, so I find it hard to see a receiver winning it, but those two players are insanely good. So, if you had to say, pre-season, you have one guy alone, who is your MVP for the 23-24 season? 100% Joe Burrow. You like Joe Burrow? I think Joe Burrow, I mean, you just watch what happened at the end of the year in the Chiefs game, I think that leaves a bad taste in Joe Burrow's mouth, and I think that he comes back and just torches the league. They have a tough schedule this year, but I still think that he'll torch the league. That's completely fair. If it's not Joe Burrow, for me, it's going to be, I think it's going to be Josh Allen, and, I mean, you know me personally, I love Joe Burrow, and I think he's, I mean, definitely a top five guy in anybody's eyes, really, but I think that, overall, I think that Buffalo, they've got a real shot this year, based off their strength of schedule, but even with everything that's going on with Stephon Diggs and the rest of the Bills, I don't think that's going to hold them back, and I think Josh Allen can really put up the numbers to be the true MVP candidate this year. Yeah, I totally agree. So, I guess onto our next topic, NFL-wise, like, if the two teams have made it to the Super Bowl between the Eagles and the Chiefs, which, if they both met back in the Super Bowl again this year, who has the easiest path? If it were the two teams out of Philly and Kansas City, I think Philly has an easier path. It might be controversial for me to say that. I don't see their division being that tough. I mean, yeah, Dallas is pretty good. I mean, they're going to be in that playoff contention, as they always are, but a key factor there is, like, Dallas has gone away from Zeke, so you've got to have Tony Pollard putting up numbers, at least out of the Bay. We don't know if he will, because he got hurt at the end of the year last year, so he might be coming back from injury. So, and then, I mean, I don't see the Giants doing really anything, and that would be the only other team that I truly can talk about there, because the Giants, they didn't look bad last year, but they weren't good. And I know Kansas City, the AFC, I don't care, I don't care, the AFC is tough, and when you have, like, to go through the playoffs, you have to go through Buffalo. You have to go through Cincinnati. Those are two teams that, in all reality, all three of those teams could just show up out of nowhere and be in the Super Bowl. All three of those guys, tough teams. NFC, you kind of, it's kind of isolated, as the Eagles are up there, Dallas is up there, Minnesota's up there, San Fran's tough, but don't count out Seattle and Detroit. Those two teams, they did a lot this offseason. They made some moves, and I'm a Vikings fan, but Detroit can be scary this year. I think Dan Campbell is one hell of a coach, and I like to see how he's built that team. It just scares me being a Vikings fan, you know? Yeah, no, I agree with you on that. The Lions are scary. I mean, there's definitely some teams that are very scary that can beat you on any given day. You don't want to let them paint around. For me, personally, yeah, I'm going to agree with you on this. It's the Eagles. Like, I just, yeah, it's the Eagles, 100%. I, when you look at Kansas City, it's hard to say that Kansas City isn't, like, the favorite to come out of the AFC, which they probably are. But, I mean, because, you know, they've been to five straight AFC Championship games. They've hosted every one of them. They've been to the, they've won the Super Bowl two in the last three years, I think. Regardless, though, there's, Josh Allen was 13 seconds away from beating them. You got, you got Cincinnati, as you alluded to. I mean, Cincinnati's got the, it's got the blueprint, per se, to beat the Chiefs. I mean, you look at the fact that there's two quarterbacks in the entire NFL, one that's currently retired now, that have a winning record and have beaten Patrick Holmes twice, or more than once, I guess. And one of them's retired, it's Tom Brady, the other's Joe Burrow. So, I mean, you can't count out Joe Burrow, but, I mean, like you said, it's the hardest, I mean, it's hard, it's loaded over there. I mean, now you got Aaron Rodgers with the Jets, and we'll talk a little bit more about the Jets when it comes free agency time. But they're a scary team, to Buffalo and the Chiefs, and everybody else in the AFC. You can't count out Baltimore in the AFC North. Like, kind of like what you were saying with the Lions and Seattle, like, the Ravens are good. Like, they're, they do a lot, usually, in the offseason. They're a pretty good team, they're well-coached. They have Lamar Jackson as a quarterback. Like, we'll also talk about, I'm going to talk about them a little bit, too, in free agency. But, like, for the most part, you can't count out Lamar. I mean, there's all sorts of teams, and, like, even Jacksonville. Jacksonville was in that playoff game against the Chiefs. Like, there's all sorts, and it's a tough, tough, AFC is tough. Absolutely, I mean. And I guess the next thing that, you know, the piggyback off that question is, like, if these two aren't going to make it, because most likely they're not going to, you know, how often do you see a repeat matchups in the Super Bowl? It's not very often. Which, I mean, who do you think stands as the other, like, I guess we kind of talked about this, but the other contenders that could possibly be there, and what's a potential matchup that you see coming down the road? As far as a potential matchup, it's kind of, I mean. It's really early. It's really early, it's shot in the dark. I mean, we haven't even had training camp yet. Yeah. We barely just got over. Maybe we put a pin in that one. But, I mean, if we're talking early before training camp, my, I can tell you the teams it'll probably come down to, but I can't give you a true Super Bowl look, and it'll come down to in the AFC, it'll either be Kansas City, Buffalo, Cincinnati, and this might be a hot take, but I'm going to throw New York in there. I think the Jets are really going to surprise some people this year. And like I said, we're going to touch a little bit on what they did free agency wise, but look at who their quarter, just look at who their quarterback was the past couple years. They've been through guys like Zach Wilson, Mike White, Joe Flacco. I mean, those guys, exactly who, right? And just this last year, they were kind of like, they shocked a lot of people. I mean, Coach Saleh over there, same situation as Dan Campbell, really good coach. I mean, he just didn't have all the personnel, and I think this offseason they hit it. So, I'm going to throw the Jets in there on the AFC side of things. And then as far as the NFC goes, I do like San Francisco. I do like Philly. And ultimately, the teams that are going to be on the fringe, it's going to depend on how the season turns out, but Minnesota, Seattle, Detroit, Dallas, those are all teams that could be in the mix come January. Yeah, I agree with you on all those teams. I think we're pretty on the same page there. I think since we're getting to the point on this topic where we're kind of dipping into free agency, I think we should move on to our next topic. So, NFL free agency, since we're dipping into it. I think what we're going to do, right, is we're going to just go through a list of notable acquisitions and kind of give our take, right? Is that what we're going to do? Yeah, that's what I was thinking. So, maybe go team by team here. We'll start with the Patriots. They added, in my eyes, two notable guys, Juju Smith-Schuster and Mike Gusecki. Juju Smith-Schuster is coming off of the Super Bowl. I mean, he wasn't huge for them, but I mean, he made plays to make them get to that win. Yeah, I mean, for Juju, the thing is, I mean, I'm interested to see what Juju, he played really well last season through like week 14, like week 1 to week 14, then in the Super Bowl, but he kind of dipped off through week 15 and conference championship. No, I mean, that happens. I mean, players go through a rough stretch, but it'll be interesting. He's going to bring a veteran presence into that offense. He's going to help give Matt Jones some more weapons. Same with Mike Gusecki, too, but Juju really will help with the receiving. It'll be interesting to see because when I think New England football, you like to run the ball a little bit, not the safe move kind of stuff like that, check downs and all that. It'll be interesting to see how that all works out. Juju isn't the greatest run blocker, so if you're asking him to block on the edge, you might not have a whole lot of luck with your outside run, but for the most part, he's still a great pass catcher. He knows what it takes to win a Super Bowl. He's played with great quarterbacks, but I will say one thing about him that it will be interesting to see how him and Bill Belichick mix because Juju is that, I'm going to dance on the logo kind of guy dancing in the locker room. Bill Belichick's a no-nonsense military-like guy. Like, it'll be interesting to see what, you know, they might not mix well, but I don't know. Yeah, and I think the Patriots getting Mike Gusecki, that's going to help them. They're tight ends. They really needed some help there, and I think Gusecki's going to be that guy. Yeah, Gusecki's a great player. Great pass catching tight end. Not the greatest run blocker, but he's just another weapon. I think the big thing with New England's offseason that really is beneficial to both Juju and Mike Gusecki is they brought in a new offensive coordinator. That offensive coordinator was the offensive coordinator when they had Tom Brady in 2007 when they were 17-0 going into the Super Bowl. So they have someone that's a play caller. They don't have Joe Judge and Matt Patricia Cullen plays like they did last year. I think you'll see progression from Matt Jones. I think Mike Gusecki and Juju Smith-Schuster are going to be pretty big parts of that. I agree. Our next team on the list is the one team that we've been touching on quite a bit here. Let's go to the Jets. The Jets. It's interesting you look at who they've brought in. We have four guys kind of listed. I mean, they've definitely brought in more than four, but the four most notable are Aaron Rodgers, Randall Cobb, Nicole Hardman, and Alan Lazard. I mean, you look at three of those four guys, they all played in Green Bay together. They've all had decent careers together. I think, obviously, we all know that Aaron Rodgers is an MVP-level player. I mean, he's going to play good football. It will be interesting to see how him and Robert Sala do right away. I think they might struggle out the gate a little bit, just with scheme and kind of getting that chemistry. But, I mean, from their passing offense, you look at what they got on the roster now. You look at what their offense has got now and what they brought in. You talk about the connection between your receivers and your quarterback. I mean, you've got two receivers that are a receiver and a tight end that both have a great connection with Aaron Rodgers. And then, obviously, you have Nicole Hardman, who, I mean, paired with, I think their other one is, is it, oh, is it Chris Olave? No, Chris Olave is in New Orleans. The other Ohio State guy. Shoot, it'll come to me. But, they have, they have, what? Garrett Wilson. Yeah, Garrett Wilson. Yeah, with Garrett Wilson and Nicole Hardman, I mean, you have two really good defense. And, I mean, we saw it when Nicole Hardman was playing in Kansas City. I mean, we didn't talk a whole lot about them because, you know, they had Tyreek Hill. But, I mean, Nicole Hardman was, like, it was faster. It was on record, combine-wise, being faster than Tyreek Hill. Like, I mean, he's fast. You throw him the ball, I mean, he's going to make, I mean, he's going to make some plays. So, but yeah, I think, I think this is a team that they're going to start slow. But I think at the end of the, like, their first four games, they're going to start slow. But I think with what they brought in this offseason, I think that by the end of the season, they're going to be challenging for the number one place in the AFC East and possibly one of those top four playoff spots. And then, I mean, for sure, possibly a playoff spot. And I think one thing that you didn't touch on, but should be brought up, is you're talking about, between Aaron Rodgers and between Randall Cobb, Nicole Hardman, think of the playoff, playoff knowledge and experience that those guys have. Bringing it into a team that, I mean, overall, they're still a pretty young team. You're going to have good veteran presence with Aaron Rodgers and Randall Cobb there. But you think, there's teams that they make it deep in the playoffs, make it to the Super Bowl, and it starts to get inside your head. I mean, you can go so far and say, hey, it's just another game. You know, we'll go out there and do everything like we did at practice, everything like that. But when it comes down to the nitty gritty, playoff time, it gets to some people. And when you have a young team like that, to have guys that have been there and done that before, I mean, you got guys, you're bringing in the right guys, I think. I mean, Aaron Rodgers, he's won Super Bowls. Nicole Hardman, he's got two under his belt. Randall Cobb has always been a part of teams that have been deep in the playoffs. And Lazard's still young enough that he's still got the experience in the league. But he has that juice still. But he's got the juice. Yeah. I mean, it's going to be interesting. The one thing that will be interesting is when it comes to playoff time, because you know Aaron Rodgers' track record in the NFC when it came to playoff time, like he kind of fizzled out except for that year when they won over Pittsburgh. So it'll be interesting to see how they do in the playoffs. I think that, like you said, they're going to be winners. I mean, it's a team full of winners now. I mean, they're going to make the playoffs. There's no doubt in my mind. Absolutely. So next on our list, we've got Odell Beckham Jr. going to the Ravens. What do you think about that? So with OBJ, he's a little bit of a question mark right now for me, because he didn't play at all last season off an ACL injury. Obviously, when he's healthy, he's been insane. Really, really good player. Still a really great player. Honestly, if the Ravens can get even a 90% of what Odell used to be, I mean, he's still going to probably, you know, he's a veteran. He's going to be able to go in there. They have a lot of young guys right now. I think he can be a really good veteran presence. I think early on in the season, he's not going to be your number one type of guy, just because he's knocking some rust off. He hasn't played in about a year and a half now. But yeah, I think by the end of the season, he's going to be their number one guy. Him and Mark Andrews are going to be battling for their number one guy. And honestly, he's a big addition. I think it's a big season for Lamar, the fact that they went and got Odell. Because we all talk about how Lamar is, you know, a great running quarterback. And, you know, he can pass the ball. I think this really will show if Lamar is actually, you know, how, you know, can prove how well past Lamar is of having OBJ. You can't blame it on, you know, a younger core or, you know, an inexperienced quarter receivers. So it will be interesting to see what they do. But OBJ is a good addition to their receiving core. Yeah, my only thing with him is, you know, I want to see what he's like a year removed. But I also want to know how his knee is going to hold up. I mean, that injury factor is always something that's big, you know. It's something that a lot of guys, like, we don't want to focus on. But there's guys that have never been the same after an injury. Yeah, that's totally true. I mean, I will say from, you know, experience or not from experience, but from just watching, like, usually your second year after your injury is usually your big. So your is when you start to kind of come back into your own a little bit physically after an ACL injury. But I mean, it's yet to see he's had a few knee injuries. Then we got moving on, Stan and the AFC North. Your team will go to the Bengals. I like Orlando Brown coming over. That's a good pickup for you guys. Yeah, I'm excited. It kind of caused a little bit of turmoil amongst the offensive line with Jonah Williams. Jonah Williams has since pulled his trade request. So, but he's a great, you know, great tackle. He's going to anchor a somewhat decent offensive line already there. You know, obviously, the fact that the Bengals are investing in their offensive line means how committed they are to Joe Burrow and keeping him safe. They've got a two straight offseason. Orlando Brown has won two Super Bowls with the Chiefs. He's protected Patrick Mahomes. I mean, he's every year that he's been in the league. He's been graded as one of the best tackles in the league. So it's a really big get. It'll be interesting to see how they play him because they still have Lael Collins. And like I said, Jonah Williams still on the roster. Two decent tackles. I would assume that he'll play right away in the spot of Lael Collins because Lael Collins is ACL Week 18 or in the wildcard game. And so it's probably going to be Jonah Williams and him at tackles. But when Lael Collins comes back, you know, who knows? Maybe they move Orlando Brown to where Jonah Williams is. But it's going to be interesting to see. Yeah, I agree. Especially with the part, you know, those guys on the line, the guys in the trenches, they don't get enough credit. Ultimately, everybody kind of looks at all your skill players. You look at your wide receivers, your running backs. But really, your offensive line is what's going to keep your quarterbacks healthy. And honestly, the pickup of Orlando Brown is, I think, is going to be good. And exactly like what you were saying, doing it last offseason, doing it this offseason, they're putting in the real money and putting their faith in guys that they've proven it. They've proven that they can protect somebody of a high caliber. And Joe Burrow is that guy. You want to keep him safe. Yep. Yeah, 100%. Yeah, 100%. That was a great move. Honestly, you look at it from a standpoint, if you're a Chiefs fan, you probably hate it. Orlando Brown may be one of your best off at the linemen. So, I mean, there's a little brewing rivalry there. So, yeah. I mean, it's good though for the Bengals that you got another protector at Joe Burrow, though. Absolutely. Our next team on the list, we got the Broncos picking up some IJP, Ryan. I think that's a pretty good move. Honestly, don't know what to say about that other than the Broncos needed to make that move. And with Somalia P. Ryan being out there as long as he was, that was a good move for sure. Yeah. I'm sad. As you said before, I was a Bengal. As you said, I'm a Bengals fan. Sad to see Somalia go. But Somalia is a great back. He is a tremendous pass blocker. When he's not running the ball, he's a tremendous pass blocker. The Bengals used him a lot in third down spots. They took Joe Mixon off the field and used him as a, you know, their pass blocking back. They, he's also a very good in between the tackles runner, kind of a bigger guy. He holds a record in the NCAA for most rushing yards in a game at Oklahoma of over 500 yards. Just insane player. A good gift for the Broncos and what they're trying to do with Sean Payton and revamp that offense and try and get Russell Wilson back to being Russell Wilson. Absolutely. Moving on next, I'll go to the Raiders and we'll talk about Jimmy Garoppolo. What do you got going on over there? So Jimmy G is, you know, obviously he was good in San Francisco for a couple years. He had his deficiencies. Obviously, he's won a Super Bowl as a backup with the Patriots. Pretty good player. He's won a lot of games as a starting quarterback in the NFL. Granted, he's also had a lot of really good teams around him, but I think that the Raiders really, I mean, you want a quarterback that's been there, done that kind of stuff and they got him, but I would be remiss to say what, how much did they trade up actually? I mean, they did just have Derek Hart. I think Jimmy G and Derek Hart are pretty similar players, but who knows? Maybe. And there's a fact that Jimmy G is also, might not pass the physical and now your new a minority owner is Tom Brady. And does Tom Brady come out of, you know, retirement because Jimmy G fails a physical again? I mean, it's yet to be seen, but I mean, Jimmy G is a winner. He's going to bring some winner ability or winner attitude to Las Vegas. Also to note, the head coach for the Raiders, Josh McDaniels, was his position coach in New England. Yeah, I think when Jimmy Garoppolo and McDaniels reunite, I think that could be good. But kind of like I was saying earlier, you know, the injuries, that's the one thing that I kind of skeptical about. I think he can bounce back. I think he'll be fine. But I mean, also what you were saying earlier, you know, I don't know how big of a jump it's going to be. I mean, Derek Carter, the Saints, then you get Jimmy G from the 49ers. They kind of, in my eyes, they're about the same caliber of a quarterback. I mean, I don't know that it'll be a good thing that they got Jimmy Garoppolo, but it definitely won't be a bad thing. I think we'll just have to see how it all plays out. Yeah, I think it all evens out, really. I guess on to our next one, Brandon Cooke, Cooke's to the Cowboys via trade. What do you think of Brandon Cooke? I mean, I like Brandon Cooke. I think he's a good wide receiver. The Cowboys, you know, they already have CD Lamb, but aside from CD, I don't know. The other guys that are there in that wide receiver room, this could be a big help. This could definitely help expand their depth. It could allow them to finally step out and really challenge the Eagles because, let's be honest, since 2018, the Eagles really have had a hold on that division. I think the addition to Brandon Cooke's will allow for Dallas to be a lot more competitive at the East. Yeah, I agree. I think the one thing that Brandon Cooke accomplishes for the Cowboys is that you can't just double CD Lamb now. Brandon Cooke is a capable, viable target. He can kill you. He's obviously had some in the last couple of years. I think he's had some injury issues, but not as much that would totally impact him. But he's still a really, really good receiver. I think that he's capable of making it so that you get one-on-one coverage with CD Lamb. He gets one-on-one coverage and, honestly, probably gives you another option for Dak. I think that's a new look offense. It's not really a new look, but it's going to be a new look because in RZ, Tony Pollard is going to be their new back. They don't have really... They have, obviously, CD Lamb, but they're starting to put it all back together a little bit now. It'll be interesting to see what they do. I think Brandon Cooke's will be helpful, though. Like you said, so they can challenge the Eagles. Absolutely. Another addition that the Cowboys made in a trade with the Colts is they ended up getting Stephon Gilmore to help out the defensive side of the ball. I think, ultimately, the Cowboys... I think that's probably a bigger hole that Stephon Gilmore will... He'll help to mend that hole. I don't think he's 100% the only one that fixes that, but I think he's going to be a big help. Yeah. Dallas got better in the secondary with Stephon Gilmore. They already have Trayvon Diggs. Honestly, the best thing a defensive coordinator can think is, well, I got two corners that we can play man with. Stephon Gilmore and Trayvon Diggs are very good at, so you can play them opposite each other. That's going to be important when you play Philadelphia and you have to guard Devontae Smith and A.J. Brown. I mean, one of those guys could take you deep, could burn you big time, and having two corners like Stephon Gilmore and Trayvon Diggs is pretty big. I think it's a pretty big add for the defense, for the Cowboys. Yeah, it's a great move. They have a great defensive coordinator in Dan Quinn there. I think he's still there. But, I mean, the Cowboys got better with this on defense. I agree. I'll move on to the stand in the east and go to the Giants. Darren Waller. What do you think about that? Darren Waller is a really, really good tight end. I think that's going to be big. Just give another weapon to Daniel Jones. They're starting to kind of build that offense to kind of be similar to what you would see in Buffalo. Yeah, Buffalo, obviously, because Brian Dable is the head coach of the Giants now, was the offensive coordinator for the Bills. I mean, that's just another weapon for Daniel Jones. I mean, you've got Stankwad in the backfield. They needed some help receiving-wise. Darren Waller is a great receiving tight end. I would like to see him get maybe another receiver or so. But we'll be able to talk about receivers that are still possibly on the board here in a little bit. But for the most part, Darren Waller, great move. He can really kill you as a defense, finding those zones. He's kind of a Travis Kelce-ish player. Yeah, I think definitely a good grab. I think definitely in the red zone, Darren Waller can be pivotal for Daniel Jones, really. I think, you know, you look inside the 20, his route running is pretty good for a tight end. And like you were saying, kind of a Kelce-esque guy. He can go out and get the ball. And, you know, that's one place that the Giants struggled was inside the red zone. And I think, you know, adding a tight end like Darren Waller will really help him out in the long run. Yeah, I think so, too. I think it's just like you were saying, gives another weapon to Daniel Jones. The Eagles traded DeAndre, or got in a trade from the Lions, they got DeAndre Swift. So DeAndre Swift, great player, great running back of Georgia. He kind of hasn't really lived up to it entirely. But he also was playing for the Lions. So I can't really say too much about, you know, not living up to it. But he's still been a pretty good back. He's been a consistent back. Like, I think this is a great opportunity for him to, you know, match with Jalen Hurts and that offense that's already going to be zooming. He'll be a big addition. I'm not sure if they still have Miles Sanders, but I mean, if they don't, I mean, I think that you're getting a decent back to replace him. If not, you're getting a decent back to complement him. And really, one of the big things that DeAndre Swift brings is, you know, he's a tough guy to take down. Really, one of those guys that you can tell that really emphasizes on turning those legs, making sure that you're always moving, and you're always moving north-south. You don't see him dance east-west too much. He's a very nose-to-the-grindstone, north-south runner. And I think the Eagles really got a good running back in DeAndre Swift. And you're right. I think if Sanders is still there, it'll be a good complement. If not, it'll be- If not, he's in Carolina. It'll move over to the Bears and the NFC North. They got D.J. Moore and Tremaine Edmonds this offseason. Who do you think stands out there? They got D.J. Moore in that trade with Carolina that moved Carolina up to get Bryce Young. D.J. Moore, good receiver. He's not a very old guy, but he's going to bring in some veteran leadership. Good receiver. Probably going to go in as their number one. They still have Chase Claypool for the Bears. I think D.J. Moore is going to end up being their number one guy, and Claypool will end up being their number two. But really good player. Should have a breakout year. It'll be interesting to see how Justin Fields does with him. Yeah, absolutely. I think D.J. Moore might actually help out Justin Fields a little bit more. I actually haven't, you know, somebody to consistently air the ball out to. I mean, Claypool is good, but I like Claypool more in the short to mid range. And D.J. Moore, at least in my eyes, I don't know what the exact stats are or anything like that, but downfield, I think D.J. Moore can be a real threat for the Bears. Yeah, he'll be big for them. On the next one, we talked about Tremaine Edmonds, and he plays linebacker, right? I think he played linebacker for the Bills last year. I think it was kind of, as we call it, kind of a rover position. He was on the, he was at linebacker, but kind of a rusher, you know? Kind of like I was saying with the Cowboys and Stephon Gilmore, I think defensively, the Bears have had some problems the past, I don't know, five, ten years, that he won't fix their problem, but he definitely helps contribute to it. And if the Bears keep making moves the way that they have been, I think in the next four, three, four years, they could be a team that is a force to be reckoned with. But as of right now, the way I see the North, it's Minnesota and Detroit. And I mean, that's just my opinion. But those are the two teams that you have to go through right now. And when I look on paper at the Bears, I think they need a little bit more. But I do think for sure Tremaine Edmonds will help out. Yeah, Tremaine Edmonds is coming off one of his, probably his best year as a pro. He's really good in coverage. According to PFF, he had a 90% grade in coverage and about, what was it, 80% I think, pass rush grade. So he's a pretty good linebacker, outside linebacker. I think that he'll definitely help with that defense. You kind of look at what is kind of the calling, like the blueprint right now in the NFL, the winning games, having a good pass rusher and a good quarterback and some other stuff. But I think he fits a mold that can really be beneficial to what the Bears need him to do. Great. Moving on, staying in the NFC North, got C.J. Gardner-Johnson to the Lions. C.J. Gardner-Johnson is an insanely great player. He's going to boost the Lions secondary. Obviously, the Lions have traded, which we'll talk about later, Jeff Okuda. But C.J. Gardner-Johnson can do as much as Jeff Okuda did. And if not better, C.J. Gardner-Johnson was on the Eagles last season, was an integral, integral part of that defense that really led the Eagles to the Super Bowl and got them to where they needed to be. Actually, a really big loss for the Eagles that they lost C.J. Gardner-Johnson. I think it's a really big gift for what the Lions are trying to do. Yeah, I agree. Eagles, it's a big loss. I mean, he made a lot of plays, especially in the playoffs, to help bring that team to the Super Bowl. And unfortunately, it's a loss for the Eagles, but that's a big pickup for the Lions. And I mean, I think they got the right guy to fill the shoes of Okuda. Yeah, I mean, you talk about how, like, you look around the division and the NFC North and you see, you know, you have Justin Jefferson, you have D.J. Moore, you have Chase Claypool, you have, I mean, on his own team, Amin Roth, St. Brown. I mean, you have to get players that can defend these really, really good receivers. And I mean, that's just, I mean, you got to do what you got to do. And I mean, that's a great pickup. Then also staying in the North, we got the Vikings picking up Marcus Davenport and Byron Murphy. I think that'll be good. The Vikings definitely needed to get some help on the defensive side of the ball. I think losing Patrick Peterson, but replacing him with Byron Murphy, and then losing Eric Kendricks and having a guy like Marcus Davenport. Really, I think the defense itself will maintain its star power on paper. But ultimately, I think what it comes down to there is the addition of Brian Flores. Yeah, like you said, Brian Flores was really, they're kind of the biggest splash in the defense, in my opinion, this year. But Marcus Davenport is insanely great. He's a good player. He's been for the Saints. He's been a great player. He's been pretty good in coverage for an edge defender. And he's a really good pass rusher. He can do both. And I mean, you don't get a whole lot of that. I mean, obviously, you see guys, the best guys to do that. You don't see that a whole lot in college. You don't see it a lot in high school. I mean, where you see a lot of guys being good at really both is in the NFL. And he's one of those guys. He's one of the elite guys doing it. Just he doesn't get a whole lot of recognition on it. He's good, though. Big pick up. It'll be interesting to see what happens along that defensive line with Cedarius and Daniel Hunter. I know that there's some turmoil going on with those guys right now. Well, Cedarius, he's in Cleveland. Cedarius Smith is gone. Oh, he is. OK, well, there you go. So Cedarius, obviously, they're going to use him to kind of replace Cedarius in some roles. He's more of an edge linebacker than a defensive end. But I mean, you can use him in certain defensive packages the same. But I mean, essentially, you're trading Marcus Davenport for Cedarius. And then Byron Murphy, he's had some good years in Arizona. Arizona's never been really a great defensive team. But I mean, they've had enough to get the job done here and there. Byron Murphy, like you were talking about, just to replace Pat Peete. A little bit, he's younger. But I think that Byron Murphy will do a good job of replacing what they lost in Pat Peete. But yeah, I think that honestly, I don't think the Vikings got really any better. But I don't think they got really any worse on the defensive side of the ball. But I am looking forward to seeing what Brian Flores has planned for this defense this season. Okay, moving on to a team that I think made a pretty big splash in free agency this year. We'll move over to the Falcons in the South. They got Clayas Campbell, Trey Flowers, and then they traded for Jeff Okuda. Jeff Okuda, like we were saying, the Lions ended up trading him away. Which I think that's a big pickup for them. Defensively, they definitely needed help. I know I can say, you know, go MSU here. And we had Troy Anderson make a splash last year. But you know, he's gonna step up and be one of their starters now. And the addition of Trey Flowers and Jeff Okuda in the secondary, I think will bridge the gap that they were missing last year. Yeah, the Falcons are one of my teams to watch in the NFC South right now. If honestly, I think that the NFC South is kind of an up for grabs division. And in all reality, I think that the Falcons can do it. I mean, they were hanging around to the last moment last year. They kind of bowed out at the end. But like you're saying, they have Troy, a really young linebacker there. They're gonna pair, you know, Clayas Campbell on the edge with that. Clayas Campbell, really, really, really good player, played Baltimore last year. He did some really good stuff for that Baltimore defense that was elite last year. Trey Flowers, played for the Bengals last couple seasons. Trey Flowers is, Trey Flowers is used mostly in the role of, oh, what was it? They used him to cover guys like Travis Kelsey. He's a big physical, kind of like a nickel corner kind of guy. He's not big enough to be a linebacker, but he's too big to be a corner. He's physical, pretty good player. But that's what they used him for last year is a lot of nickel corner. He'll be a good addition. And then Jeff Okuda, another great player. Obviously, we talked about him when we were talking about the Lions. But Jeff Okuda, I think that the new environment will give him, will bear fruits and be really good for him. I think he'll do really well in Atlanta. And I think, I know he's not on the list here, but another really key addition to the Falcons was Jesse Bates. And he, I mean, he anchored that secondary for the Bengals last two or three seasons. And he's going to be a really big, big player for them. I mean, I'm going to stand by what I said. I think the defense for the Falcons is really going to carry on this season. And I think that they're urging to watch the NFC South. Yeah, I agree for sure. Moving on from the Falcons, the Panthers, a few guys that I had on the list there. Adam Thielen, Hayden Hurst, and Vaughn Belt. Okay, so I'll start us off here. Vaughn Belt, the other safety for the Bengals, kind of sucks that the Bengals lost him as well as Jesse Bates, as we just talked about. But Vaughn Belt, great player. A couple years ago, he essentially kind of set the tone for what the new Bengals were going to look like with a hit on Juju Smith-Schuster. Okay. Sorry about the pause there. But yeah, Vaughn Belt, great player. Did a lot for the Bengals the last couple seasons. Sad to see him go, but he's going to be a really big addition to the Panthers. Hayden Hurst did a lot for the Bengals last year. Kind of sad to see him go, but he earned his money. He was a big time for the Bengals this season. And then, Adam Thielen, he's been a staple for the Vikings for the last however many years. Really good player. There's not much to say the Panthers are going to challenge for the NFC South as well as the Falcons. Yeah, I think the Panthers, ultimately, you know, exactly what you're saying here, they're going to be able to challenge for the South. I do think, you know, wide receivers, they take a hit because they lost Robbie Anderson. I don't know what his name is now. I think it's Chosen or something like that. It's Chosen. And then they lose, they lost D.J. Moore. Adam Thielen, like you were saying, he can be pivotal for them, but ultimately, where I'm going with this is, you know, the NFC South is, as a whole, has been struggling. I think last year, they didn't do as well as a lot of people were looking at. And it's pretty, it's pretty much set that when Tom Brady come into the South, it was like the Bucs were number one, and then everybody else in the South, the Saints, the Falcons, and everybody, you know, the Panthers, they're kind of a lower-end team. So people, when they were like, oh, Tom Brady's going to play for the Bucs, they already knew. They knew that the Bucs were going to be the number one team for as long as he was there. Yeah, and now that he's gone, it's really wide open. Yeah, exactly. Moving on, Saints, they picked up Derek Carr, Jamal Williams. That's a good pickup for them. I think, really, the Saints, since Drew Brees left, they haven't really had they haven't really had a stable quarterback situation. I know they've bounced around. They've had Taysom Hill, Andy Dalton, Jameis Winston, but all of them are interchangeable at that point, you know? I think having one guy to be like, hey, this is your job. Go take advantage of it, and Derek Carr, you look at what he's done in Vegas, if he does anything remotely, consistently, like he did for Oakland slash Las Vegas, the Saints are going to be in good hands. Yeah, I agree with that one. When it comes to Derek Carr, I mean, you look at the entire offense as a whole. I mean, you have Chris Olave. You have, I don't know if Michael Thomas will ever be Michael Thomas again, but Michael Thomas is good. I mean, you have Jarvis Landry still. They still have some really good offensive linemen. Running back-wise, I think the main reason that they probably picked up Jamal Williams is because you see that Alvin Kamara has a little bit of legal trouble going on right now, so Jamal Williams is probably going to be for a little bit at the beginning of the season. Probably their bell count, their bell carrier, but I mean, that defense is always good. They lost a lot too, but obviously it's Marcus Davenport, but I think that if they can get some connection amongst Derek Carr and those receivers and that offense, I think that they can still be a very good team. And then Jamal Williams, obviously I love Jamal Williams. He's a very funny personality. Wishing all the best. Absolutely. We'll move on. Baker Mayfield and Levante David as two big pickups for the Buccaneers. Baker Mayfield to replace Tom Brady. What do you think? Oh, right. I think Baker got ran out of Cleveland. But I think Baker has some stuff to prove, but I don't know. I think that it'll be interesting to see. He has some decent weapons in Chris Godwin and Mike Evans. Pretty decent defense still. They'll be good, but I think that, I don't think they'll be as good. I mean, they didn't look very good last year, and they still made the playoffs with Tom Brady. But I don't know. Could Baker Mayfield be a little bit, I don't know. I think that was a crap shoot. I don't honestly know how it's going to go. It could either be really good or it could be really shitty. I mean, you think about it, you're replacing the GOAT. I personally, I think he's gonna, he is the greatest of all time in my opinion. Maybe it's because I'm a younger guy and I didn't get to see a lot of the older talent. But I mean, the stats speak for itself. Tom Brady, in my eyes, is the GOAT. And you're replacing him with Baker Mayfield. Now, I have a soft spot for Baker Mayfield. I do like him a lot. But do I think he's a great quarterback? No. Do I think he's going to be a consistent quarterback? And I agree with you in the sense that he got chased out of Cleveland. Yeah, I think he is a consistent quarterback. And I don't think that he's been in the right system to actually convey that. Yeah, I mean, you think about it. He's played for at least four different head coaches now in his time in the NFL. I think he's played like five or six years now. Levante David, I think will be good for him. Yeah, he'll be a good addition to him. Yeah, he'll be a great player for their defense. I mean, their defense is already pretty good already. But I mean, whatever little piece you can get down into your defense will always help. Moving on, we got Hunter Long to the Rams through a trade. That was the big one that came out for me. I think, you know, this one could go one of two ways. It'll either work out and Hunter Long will succeed in LA under Sean McVay, which I hope happens because I like Sean McVay. But I mean, if this trade doesn't work out for him, I don't know. It could be a bust, honestly. This is the one that I'm probably most skeptical about. Yeah, I mean, last year he played okay. I mean, he's not super great in any particular categories of tight end. He's kind of a decent tight end that you can get the job done, you can play him. But I mean, he's not going to give you like your Mike Gusecki or your Darren Waller or Travis Kelsey-like numbers. I mean, he could. And the way that they use tight ends in the Rams offense definitely can help minimize some of the deficiencies he has. So we'll see. I think time will tell on this one. I agree. And let's see here. Matt Pryor. On our last team on the list, I know we didn't hit all 32 teams. These are just the teams that I ended up hitting on some of my notable transactions. The 49ers with Chris Connelly and Matt Pryor. So Matt Pryor, we'll be interested to see if he has a bounce back here. He struggled last year for Indy, but I mean, to be fair, Indy struggled a lot, regardless of whoever it was last year. But I think he'll be, I mean, they lost Mike McGlitchie to the Broncos. So they'll need a tackle to replace him. So I think he can fill that. And honestly, it might be a revamp, he might be able to revamp his career in San Francisco. And then Chris Connelly, great, decent receiver. Again, kind of a time will tell, time will tell. I don't know if he's going to be able to do it, but I think he's going to be able to Uh, again, kind of a time will tell kind of player. Kind of same with Matt Pryor and Hunter Long for me. But I think that he has some, I mean, he's been a journeyman in the NFL. So, I mean, he's a veteran. He can be a veteran presence for, you know, the 49ers receivers. Just adding on to what is already a very great special, or very special group of skill players. Yeah, I can't really think of any better way to say it. I think that it really hit the head on the nail there. So a couple of unsigned free agents that want to throw out there. We still have Dalvin Cook, Ezekiel Elliott, Yannick Ngakwe, and D-Hop. I mean, those are some big name guys that are still out there. I mean, there's probably more. But those are the first four guys that I saw that are still unsigned that, I mean, yeah, kind of like what I was telling you the other day. They could be signed, you know, closer to week one. And they can have a day one impact. Don't count these guys out. I mean, yeah. I mean, Yannick Ngakwe is a pretty damn good football player. He's a great edge rusher. Just a great football player. He's struggled the last couple years, but he's a great football player. I mean, you'd be crazy not to want Yannick Ngakwe on your team for the right price. Same thing with pretty much every one of these players. Like D-Hop, there's been a lot of speculation between him and the Bills. I think that would be insane for Josh Allen. I'm hoping as a Bengals fan it doesn't happen because I don't want to have to see DeAndre Hopkins and Stephon Diggs. But that's beside the point. But, I mean, I think you look at the Dalvin Koch and the Zeko Elliott issue and you'd be like, why are these guys paid? These are like dudes that are like top, you know, half-players, running backs in the league right now and they're not on a roster. And it's crazy to me because like, and I think the big thing is because, I mean, running back is such a dispensable position right now. It's, I mean, you can find someone that's younger and cheaper and faster than guys that are on the market. And, I mean, I think that they'll end up finding homes. But, I mean, I don't know. It might be as a, you know, week five rolls around and, you know, when our running back goes down, my kind of position. I still think they get on before week one. But, I mean, they're kind of running out of time. I agree. So, I think we're going to pivot here. Take it away from the grass and let's hit the ice. What do you say? Let's do that. Probably, we won't go into as much depth, but let's talk NHL free agency. See some notable signings there. Well, let's hear it, you lead us off because you're going to know more about this than I will. But, let's hear it. So, probably, I'm just going to run through the list here. And then, I'll say some of the guys that are pretty surprising to me. So, we got Dylan Coughlin going to the Hurricanes. Tyler Batuzzi to the Maple Leafs, which is surprising to me. Shane Gossesbaer to the Red Wings. Kind of surprising there. Alexander Kerfoot to the Coyotes. John Klinger to the Maple Leafs. Eric Gustafson to the Rangers. JT Comfort of the Red Wings. David Riddick to the Kings. Seaman Vermalov to the Islanders. Alex Killiorn to the Ducks. Laurent Breslau to the Jets. Jonathan Quick to the Rangers. Zucker to the Coyotes. Matt Duchesne to the Stars. Max Pacaretti to the Capitals. Dmitry Orlov to the Hurricanes. Milan Lucic is getting his homecoming. He's going back to the Bruins. Junius Corposalo to the Senators. Cam Talbot to the Kings. Mackenzie Blackwood to the Sharks is kind of surprising to me. James Van Ransdyke to the Bruins. Ryan O'Reilly to the Predators is surprising. And then Oliver Ekman Larson is going to the Panthers. A couple of the things that stood out is you can see that the Kings going after two goalies here. They got David Riddick and they got Cam Talbot. Them deciding to trade away Jonathan Quick last year. Jonathan Quick ended up winning another cup with Las Vegas this last season. Bet that hurt you. Bet that hurt you. That hurts you. You can tell that the Kings are looking for a change in the goalie room. They're looking, they're bringing on two veterans that I think, you know, Cam Talbot, he's battled through injury the past couple seasons and he's still got a significant amount of starts. But, you know, he didn't have the year that he was looking for, you know. And last year that trade that happened was Minnesota traded Cam Talbot away for Gustafson. I'm forgetting his first name here, drawing a blank. And that hurts me because that's my favorite team. But we know him as the Gus Bus. The Gus Bus. You know, Gustafson, I think we won in that trade by leaps and bounds. And I think there's nothing wrong with that. I mean, I like Cam Talbot a lot still and he'll be good. But David Riddick bouncing around from, you know, Calgary to Edmonton and around, you know, I think the Kings are going to get a good one-two punch. I like Lucic going back to the Bruins. Bertuzzi not re-signing is... Bertuzzi not re-signing, it'll hurt a little bit. Sorry about that. Shane Gosselsberg, that's another big one. Jason Zucker leaving the Bruins after so many years and going to the Coyotes who, personally, I think that's a struggling franchise. If you know anything that's going on with... they were supposed to get a new arena. They were supposed to get a new arena. Then Tempe, Arizona, they were like, heck no, dude, we're not doing that and basically shut them out. So now they're struggling to try and figure out where they're going to go. And I mean, you think about it, they're the only ones that are playing in a collegiate arena that holds a fraction of what everybody else does. They're losing out on a lot of pay. Yeah, yeah, yeah, for sure. I'm going to let you hit the head on that one because I don't know much about hockey, but all I'm going to say is go Red Wings. So here comes another notification. You ready? We'll switch over from the ice and go to the diamond now. Ice diamond, right? Ice ice diamond, right? Oh, yeah. So switch over. Yesterday was the last day of All-Star weekend. We had the Home Run Derby and the Celebrity All-Star game as well as the All-Star game. But I'm not going to focus so much on the Celebrity All-Star game, kind of more on Home Run Derby and what was going on with the All-Star game. So I'll have you take it away. Yeah, so in the Home Run Derby, Roddy Guerrero Jr. wins the Home Run Derby 25-23 over, how do you say it? Do you know how to say that? Yeah, it's Randy Orozarena is his name. Yeah, there you go. I forgot his name. So congrats to Vladdy. It was cool to see the video after of when he was holding the trophy and then someone stitched the video of his dad winning it, like, I don't know, back in San Francisco. And you see Vladdy admire the trophy. It's kind of cool that he won. And then in the game, obviously, the NL won over the American League in 3-2. And that's the first time since 2012. So in the lowest amount of runs since 2017. So kind of moving on to the NBA, the Damian Lillard situation. I think this is interesting. So Damian Lillard has asked for a trade from Portland. And all reports kind of point to the fact that he wants to go to Miami. And his agent has reached out and is running interference and telling essentially teams that he's not going to be happy unless he's in Miami. Well, with that being said, there's teams like Boston and Philadelphia that think that they can change his mind. But in all reality, it seems that he wants to be in Miami. And Portland has said that they're going to try and do right by him because he's been there for a long time. He's signed contract extensions. We'll be interested to see if they actually do right by him and send him to Miami. Or hey, maybe they listen to a phone call from Boston and they're able to get Jalen Brown and some picks. But it sounds like, for the most part, Damian does not want to go to Boston, according to Stephen A. Smith. And so that will be interesting to see. I think it would be interesting to see him in Philadelphia as well with Joel Embiid. But I don't know. Do you think anything of that? I mean, the only thing that I see being a problem with this is, OK, so say he does go to the Heat. Now, the Heat definitely are going to have to give up some serious collateral. And I mean, you're looking at getting rid of somebody, whether it's a Tyler Hero or a Bam Autobio or if it's even a Jimmy Butler. Because you've got to make room for one star who, I mean, he's going to be asking for money when he comes. It's not going to be moving for cheap. Yeah. The other thing I left out, too, is that Portland has not received calls from about every team in the NBA but Miami. Because Miami is waiting for them to call Miami. So our Portland's waiting. No, Miami's waiting for Portland to call them. So it's an interesting thing that's going on with Damian. Honestly, in all reality, I mean, I think that it would be interesting to see him in Miami. It would be interesting to see him in Philadelphia. But, I mean, if he's in Boston, the thing with Boston is that Boston's given up probably Jalen Brown and some picks to get him. And I don't think you should break up Jalen Brown and Jason Tatem quite yet. But I think we should move on to our next topic. I'm going to let Keith kind of take the lead on this, because we're going to talk about some Formula 1 and some breaking news. So what do we got, Ashby? So last weekend, last Sunday, was the British Grand Prix at Silverstone. And we saw a lot of the players, a lot of the fans, come to Silverstone. And we saw quite a bit happen. We had McLaren have one heck of a showing that, honestly, I've been waiting for a while now. I thought they had a fast car. I thought they looked fast at the beginning of the year. And then come to find out, they had a lot of struggles compared to everybody else. But one of the cool things we have here is I have the race finish here. So on pole, we had Max Verstappen from Red Bull. Second place, Lando. Then Lewis Hamilton at Mercedes. Oscar Piastri from McLaren. And George Russell rounds out the top five. He's from Mercedes. Then we have Sergio Perez from Red Bull. Fernando Alonso at Aston Martin. Williams, a surprising team here. Alex Albon in eighth. Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz, both Ferrari drivers, in ninth and tenth. Logan Sargent from Williams. Valtteri Bottas at Alfa Romeo. Nico Hülkenberg from Haas. Lance Stroll at Aston Martin. Joe Guanyu from Alfa Romeo at 15. Yuki Tsunoda and Nick DeVries at Alfa Tauri. And then the three guys that didn't finish due to mechanical failures were Pierre Gasly and Esteban Ocon from Alpine. And then Kevin Magnussen, whose engine caught on fire and he was unable to finish the race there. News that resurfaced on the 11th is Nick DeVries is officially out at Alfa Tauri. And Daniel Ricciardo, who was the reserve driver at Red Bull, is back in. They wanted to see how he was still driving as far as not driving at the beginning of the year. He was the reserve driver at the beginning of the season for Red Bull and Alfa Tauri. He raced for McLaren last year. And he was doing some tire testing in the Red Bull at Silverstone just after the races and everything like that, kind of working Pirelli and Red Bull, seeing how next year's tires are going to feel on track. And they showed that Daniel Ricciardo was really tearing it up. He did have one spin while putting out a hot lap. But, I mean, everybody does it at some point. Luckily, didn't ruin the car, didn't hit any walls or anything. Just spun, took the turn a little too quick. But overall, the Red Bull and Alfa Tauri found that Daniel Ricciardo really hasn't missed a step. So Nick DeVries wasn't performing and Daniel Ricciardo gets his seat back in Formula 1. So kind of cool there. Do you have anything interesting that you want to say? Yeah. I like to go fast. I think with that, unless you have something else to say, we should probably move on to some of our PBR and PRCA stuff. All righty. So PBR teams. For those of you that don't get the acronym, the PBR is the Professional Bull Riders. It is rodeo. For those who don't know, it is a rough stock event. It's timed. You get on the back of a bull. The animals are not hurt in any way, shape, or form. They use a flank rope that goes around their waist that's tightened enough like it would be your belt that you put on yourself. Never comes in contact with any of their genitalia, as some people may say. They don't tie their balls together. They don't pinch their genitals. They get on the back and you try and hold on for eight seconds. If you get eight seconds, you get points. If not, the bull gets points. You don't. But this is the second season of the PBR team series. We're going to list off the teams and their riders, but the riders are just the permanent members. There are some unprotected roster members, but they can be picked up throughout the season, just like a practice squad player in the NFL, similar to all of that. Similar to all of that. To kick things off, we're going to go ahead and start with the Arizona Ridge Riders. Nolan, if you want to go ahead and read off the roster there. So, for the Arizona Ridge Riders, Luciano DeCastro, Eduardo Artecito, Parris Edu, Keishon Whitehorse, Vitor Lasnik, Chase Daughtery, Colton Fritzlund, and Jeff Askey. You got some pretty good riders in here. You got the 11th, 17th, and 19th ranked bull riders in there. Some pretty good riders. I'll have you do the gamblers, Askey. So, Austin Gamblers last season, they did pretty well. They have Jose Vitor Alame. He is a two-time world champ. You got Lucas D'Avigno, Austin Richardson, Ezequiel Michiel, Ramon De Lima, Dalton Castle, and Adriano Sodago. You got three top 10 riders here, and most all these guys are coming off of the Unleash the Beast Tour. If I remember correctly, everybody on this list, except for Adriano Sodago, was invited to the World Finals this year. That's pretty good. That's insane. It's a good team. So, we'll move on to the Carolina Cowboys. So, for the Cowboys, I have Sandro Bautista, Dalyn Swartgen, Boudreaux Campbell, Cooper Davis, Paige Kinsey, and Josh Frost, and then Daniel Zietosa. You got some pretty good riders in here. You have the ninth and the eighth. A couple guys that are on the PRCA Tour as well. But yeah, some really good riders on here as well. You have anything to add about the Cowboys, Ashby? Yeah, you see, they have Dalyn Swartgen ranked as the 72nd-ranked rider in the world, which is pretty low considering that he was the 2022 world champion. So, a lot of people look at him and they're like, wow, what happened? And he was riding hurt most of the year and actually couldn't participate in the second half of the season. So, it says he's 72, but he's a top 10 rider. And Carolina could be really good, and I'll touch base on that a little bit later. On to the Kansas City Outlaws. I think you can take this one, Ashby. So, they got a young team in Kyle Oliver, Bob Mitchell, Marcus Mass, Colton Hevlo, Casio Diaz, Leonardo Ferreira, and Wingsong Da Silva. It's a really young team. I mean, last year, they had their struggles. But they faced some really good bulls. They faced a lot of good bovine athletes. Yeah, I mean, you just look at what they got. I mean, they're young, but I mean, they're an up-and-coming team. So, should be good. Next is the Missouri Thunder. So, on the Thunder, we got Andrew Alvidrez, and then Marcelo Ferreira, Luke Parkinson, how do you say that? Do you know how Lucas Campos? Cade Madsen, Eduardo Matos, and Felipe Ferran. Sorry if I butchered your name or did not say your name. Good riders. Also, again, I think there's some PRCA, my bad, again. Riders in here. Again, young team. Has some potential, though. I mean, you have the number seven rider in the world. Yeah, you have anything to add, Ashby? Yeah, it looks like four of their seven guys that they have are coming out of the PRCA. But we all have to remember, too, that the PRCA and NRA and everything like that, this is where the PBR came from. The PBR was made so that bull riders could get paid. And it was just one of those things that everybody wanted to grow and see what would happen. I know Flint Rasmussen talks about it on his podcast, but really what this is and what this is and what this means is there's still connectivity between NRA, PRCA, and the PBR. The talent is not watered down in one or the other. There's talent all across every branch of rodeo. And now we're seeing it come to fruition in the PBR. Yep, for sure. On to the Nashville Stampede. Yeah, so there's Kayake Pacheco, Denner Barbosa, Thiago Saldago, Mason Taylor, Ednilio Almeida, Silvano Alves, and Caden Loud. A lot of top 25 guys, top 26 guys, again. I mean, really, they have one guy outside of the top 26 and then one that's coming from the PRCA. So, another good team. One to definitely keep a lookout for. Yeah, for sure. Okay, on to the Oklahoma Freedom. So, we got Kate Polamere, I probably butchered that, Eli Bassbinder, Derek Cobalba, Chase Outlaw, Riggs Madsen, Jeff Lockwood, Go Montana, Brady Turgeon. But, I mean, there's a lot of good riders on this list. I mean, you look at Jeff Lockwood, bottom ranked as the 41st rider. He's a two-time world champion. And the youngest. Yeah, sorry, youngest. But, Go Montana. So, yeah, there's a lot of good riders on here. Asked you guys anything else to add. I mean, another good team. A lot of the stats don't really go in depth and show what these guys can do. All these ranked stats and everything like that are this last season and a lot of these guys were battling injuries. I mean, you can ask any bull rider. It's not if, it's when. And these guys all around have a lot of talent. Yeah, for sure. It's top to bottom. There's a lot of really, really good riders. But, I mean, it's pretty, it's really close. Like, there's a lot of guys that are, you know, in this that are insanely good. And, you know, they can be number one any given day of the week. Absolutely. So, next, the last team that we have here is the Rattlers. So, we have Cody Jesus, Joao Ricardo Vieira, Brady Olsen, Raphael Jose de Brito, Brady Randolph, Daniel Keeping, and Creek Young. Big thing with this team is these guys got lucky. They got the this year's world champion and rookie of the year. I'm sorry. They got this year's rookie of the year and they got the world champion, Raphael Jose de Brito. Definitely kind of flew under my radar when I was watching the world finals and he got invited. This year was probably one of the closer years that really anybody could have taken it. And, that's exactly what we saw. I mean, we saw Jose Vitor Leme, Kaike Pacheco, you know, Dalyn Swearingen. These are all guys that they all had their hats in the pool, you know. They were all, their hats were in the ring. They were ready to go, ready to win themselves a title. And, you know, we're talking a sport that's really tough because you think about it. These guys that are, they're like 150 pounds. They're getting on the back of a one-ton bull. I mean, and you got to stay on for eight seconds and they're kicking, they're kicking mad. So, at the end of the day, it was anybody's game and we saw a rookie take it this season. And, it's cool to see first time ever. Yeah, I mean, that's pretty cool. So, we're going to kind of run through last year's championship standings. So, number one last year, Nashville won it. Number two was Arizona Ridge Riders. Three was the Texas Rattlers. Four was Oklahoma Freedom. Five is the Austin Gamblers. Six was the Carolina Cowboys. Seven was the Missouri Thunder. And, it was a Kansas City Outlaws. So, Ashby's going to run you through his preseason look for this upcoming season. What do you got, Ashby? So, there's three teams that I really like this season, all around talent-wise. I really like Austin this year. I really like the Carolina Cowboys and I like the Oklahoma Freedom. The reason I like Austin is, you know, they've got a good, steady team. Last year, they did quite well. You're talking about a guy, Jose Vitorleme. I mean, he's second-ranked rider in the world this year. And, you know, even though he was a second-ranked rider, we're talking about a guy that's won five or, I mean, he can go out and give you five solid rides. He can give you 10 solid rides in a row. But, he's a very streaky rider. You know, you got Dalton Castle, Ramon De Lima, Ezekiel Mitchell. These are guys that, you know, when they're on, they're on. So, definitely one of the teams that I think of being up there. And then, who do we have next? We got the Carolina Cowboys. Carolina Cowboys, I like, they're a young team. They got a lot of swagger to them. Like, Daylon Swearingen, you know, like I said, he was the one that stops, he stops Jose Vitorleme from winning four in a row. I mean, if he would have won this year and would have won last year, that would have been four in a row, which is crazy. You know, Boudreaux Campbell, number eight ranked rider this last year. Cooper Davis ranked number nine. Josh Frost at 23. These guys have talent and they, they could win it all in my eyes. Lastly, we got the Oklahoma Freedom. Eli Vassbinder, Derrick Cavallo, Chase Outlaw, Briggs Madison, Jeff Lockwood. These are all guys, Tate Palmer, these are guys that I see that can take a team deep. And it doesn't matter which five you put out there for that evening, you're going to have three, four, if not five good rides out of these guys any given night. Any given night. So those are the guys, those are the teams that I think will be really good. And my sleeper pick of the year is the Texas Rattlers. So they, last year, they ended up in third, but they could win the whole thing this year. You know, good guys bringing a lot of youth, but a lot of solid riders that were coming off really hot streets. Like I said, Raphael Jose DiBritto, that was a big pick for them. That was, that was so big for him and his rookie year to put up those kind of numbers to win the world championship and to have Texas be able to draft him and develop him how they want. That's big. Now, the one team that I think takes a step back this season is the Arizona Ridge Riders. They were in second last year. So I think, you know, nothing against those guys at all. I mean, when I say they take a step back, I mean, they're probably not going to be second place. And I have my ranking here at the bottom, but anybody on any of these teams could be really good. And then they can have a really off night. It just depends. And really, we're just talking about the guys that are on the back of these bulls. We're not talking about the bulls. The bovine athletes, they are athletes. They don't just kick just because. So we're only talking about half of the equation. For sure, for sure. Ultimately, here's how I see the projected sandings at the end of the day. I see Oklahoma Freedom, the Austin Gamblers, the Texas Rattlers, Carolina Cowboys, Nashville Stampede, the Ridge Riders fall to six, then the Missouri Thunder, and then the Kansas City Outlaws. Now, like I said, this is very early. The season doesn't even start until July 27th at the Cheyenne Frontier Days. So, I mean, it's just like us calling the Super Bowl right now today. Nothing's happened yet. Just wait and see. Yeah, for sure. The Cheyenne Frontier Days, man. Oh, great time. So yeah, this is kind of it for our podcast for today. I hope you all enjoyed it.
