Affrrr is a polyrhythmic work composed in a “neo-impressionist” spirit that intends to evoke the climate reminiscent of Africa, particulary the desert, the drought and the Simoun of the Sahara, this sudden and unpredictable tremendous wind which transforms the apparent stillness of the dunes into a blinding storm. Musically, the instumentalists are called upon to freely surf over an elaborated dynamic range of depth tones while improvising upon complex digital melodic textures.
