It's the Wine Country Saturday Soundtrack. Fun music and great information every Saturday here at 993divine.com. I am so happy to read in the register and other places that Ciccio's is reopening. Ciccio's opened in 2012 and Frank Altamira got the whole thing going with a great staff and a great pizza oven. And some of his great Altamira wines. They closed in 2022 because of staffing issues and just whatever during the whole COVID crisis. Now this spring, they will reopen with Napa chef, Chris Costo, in charge. Now he might be familiar to you if you've been to Charter Oak in St. Helena, Loveski's Deli at the Oxbow Public Market and other things around Napa Valley. He is in charge of reopening this no-yo Yonkville favorite over at ciccio underscore Napa Valley on Instagram. You can find some posts, including one saying, join the Ciccio team. The Altamira family are still the owners of Ciccio, but Chris and his wife, Martina, are looking for some folks to help take over some of the management and more at the restaurant for an opening in late spring. Still gonna feature those awesome pizzas and Negronis and the Altamira wines and well, it's still gonna be one of those great local spots for locals and visitors alike. Chris Costo is famous for his ideas of revolutionary simplicity, using super fresh ingredients and more. So I'm looking forward to everything about one of my favorite Napa Valley restaurants reopening. Looking forward to my next meal at Ciccio. I'm Big Rick Stewart. They want to welcome you to the first annual Marin Pow Wow as we join in celebration of the indigenous communities that live and work in Marin on coastal Miwok land. Since 1968, the Marin American Indian Alliance has been a place where indigenous folks get together to share traditions, songs, dances, prayers. They say they are excited to have this opportunity to bring folks together in this good way. Native peoples are people of ceremony. Between all the various nations represented in the Bay Area, there's a wide variety of traditions about welcoming the springtime, which is coming right up, but we can all agree that getting together to sing and dance after the challenges of winter is an important and welcome celebration. Pretty great, right? There's gonna be food and dance and great stuff for kids to do and some cultural things to learn about. It sounds like a lot of fun, and it's just down the road there in Marin County. The Marin Pow Wow is being held at the Miller Creek Middle School in San Rafael, and you can get information at the Marin American Indian Alliance. I like that kind of stuff. Bring on springtime as soon as possible, please. Hey, I'm Big Rick Stewart, the Wine Country's Saturday soundtrack at 993thevine.com. I'm Big Rick Stewart. It's the Wine Country's Saturday soundtrack. Fun music and great information. Thanks for hanging out with me today. I love keeping you company. Doing whatever you're doing on this Saturday. Hopefully, you get a little bit of time to relax and listen to some music. Maybe you're going to listen to music on your new turntable. You're gonna love this story. ARS Technica and other people reporting that sales of vinyl records have been on the rise for years, but now, according to the RIAAs, that's the people that track this stuff, a 2022 year-end revenue report for the music industry. Check this out. Record sales hit a new high last year, and for the first time since 1987, a vinyl album's outpaced CDs. That hasn't happened since 1987. That's pretty wild. Now, vinyl sales, revenue-wise, have outpaced CDs for quite a while. I mean, if you buy those new albums they're re-releasing, they are pretty expensive, right? But you get a lot for them. You get all these bonus tracks and more. Streaming is still by far and away the most. CDs don't really sell that much. Vinyl, not as much, but it's kind of making a comeback. I just set up a new turntable myself. It sounds pretty good. And here's why people say vinyl sounds better. Because when you listen to digital music, what are you listening on? Little tiny speakers, your phone, a Bluetooth thing, a little speaker. When you listen to vinyl, it's a turntable, it's a bigger stereo unit and bigger and better speakers. At least that's part of it. Also, they kind of pay attention these days to how good the vinyl sounds. And evidently, we're buying it. It does sound pretty good. So there you go. Taking you back to the 80s. What about that turntable? I'm Vic Rick Steward. It's the Wine Country Saturday Soundtrack at 99threetofvine.com. Hey, it's the Wine Country Saturday Soundtrack. Hey, the first day of spring is coming right up. I know it may not seem like it. My buddy Mike Dunn, the winemaker, lives up on the mountains up there in St. Helena. He said, I'm about to build an ark if it keeps raining. Well, don't worry, spring's coming right up and I've got a drink for you. Ready? Recipe time for the bartender's side of recipes. Now, this is so super easy and super delicious that you might want to have a few of these. In fact, this is an Italian drink called the bicicletta, which means bicycle, and supposedly this was named for the Italians who would wobble back home riding their bicycle after having one too many of these. All right, so here's the mix. It's basically, although you can play around with this, equal parts of Campari, white wine, you pick your white wine, maybe not Chardonnay, maybe more kind of Sauvignon Blanc, soda water, so kind of equal parts but a little more or less depending on how you like it, all with some ice and a wine glass. Give it a try. I gave it a try because I felt like, well, I need to research this for my listeners. And I give it two thumbs up. I did not ride a bicycle after I had a few of these. I was sitting in a big, comfortable chair. So you might want to try the bicicletta. It's got Campari, white wine, and soda water, all with a little bit of ice, all in a glass, and it's the perfect warm weather drink for whenever that happens again. Looking forward to it. Give it a try. Let me know what you think. I'm Big Rick Stewart. It's the Wine Country Saturday soundtrack at 99threetofvine.com. It's the Wine Country Saturday soundtrack. I'm Big Rick Stewart. Thanks for hanging out with me. You might be listening while you're driving around or riding your bicycle, listening safely, or doing some errands or cleaning up the gutters on the roof or whatever. Maybe you're doing the hot girl walk. The what? Oh, you haven't seen this on TikTok? All right, we'll help you out. CBS News reports the viral hot girl walk CBS News reports the viral hot girl walk fitness trend explained and tips to do it yourself. All right, so the story says in November of 2020, Maya Lind, M-I-A-L-A-N-D, was looking for a way to get out of her head and also move her body as she's a stressed out senior in college and there's the pandemic and all this stuff. So she started going for a walk and she dubbed it the hot girl walk and it became a TikTok fitness sensation. No, you don't swivel your hips in hot pants or anything like that. That's not what we're talking about. She posted a video of her walk in January of 2021. Now the hashtag hot girl walk has amassed over 641 million views and she says she's received messages about how it's changing people's lives. So what is this? All right, so it's a four mile walk. At least this is how it started. A four mile outdoor mindfulness walk during which you're supposed to think of three things. What you're grateful for, your goals, and how you're going to achieve them. And Lynn also laughs and says, and lastly, how hot you are, of course. Well, of course. So it's kind of a think positive walk, but you have to get out and do it. You can't just sit there and think positive because walking is really cool. It's really all about building confidence and taking time for yourself. So whatever is most convenient for you. The whole goal of the hot girl walk was to make fitness more accessible, she says, which is why walking was an ideal option even if it wasn't a trendy form of exercise. All right, so pretty good, right? You can do it with friends and do it solo and listen to the Wine Country Saturday Soundtrack and whatever. Guys, you can do it as well. Enjoy your hot girl walk. Hey, thanks for hanging out with me on this Saturday. Let's dream a little bit. Now, for some of you, this is not a dream and that's all cool because I like it when people who have a lot of money do really cool things. I mean, that's really awesome. This is from autoweek.com. Maserati's electric Gran Turismo Fulgor is really complicated and really fun. Can you imagine having a job like this person at Autoweek? You get flown to Italy. I'm sure they put you up at a hotel and you get great meals and all that. Then you get to go drive around a prototype Maserati on a racetrack and write up your evaluation. That's a pretty good gig right there. All right, so here's the story. Maserati is preparing to launch its first set of battery electric vehicles. The 2024 Gran Turismo Fulgor is the first of them to hit the streets. Pricing? Yeah, it's estimated at over $205,000. I know, all right. Power figures rise to 750 horsepower. That is a lot. That is like a massive amount. So they drove the car, everything went good. They actually got onto a track that was set up for super bikes over there near Rome. And of course, you know, they had a lot of fun driving this around. And it's funny, late in the article, they actually have this one question that opens the paragraph. Does it really feel that fast? Oh yes, it certainly does. It says, despite its heft, with a big giant battery and stuff, right? The Fulgor builds speed deceptively thanks to its padded Grand Touring interior and relative lack of drive train sound. Accelerating out of the final Roma hairpin and onto the front straight, the Fulgor reached 125 miles an hour with a light press of the go pedal. Seemed like the power was practically endless. Wow, sounds like a lot of fun. All right, I'll look this up on YouTube. That's about as close as I'll get. Hey, I'm Tig Rick Stewart. Thanks for hanging out with me today.
