You know, on Saturdays, we play fun music and we feature great information at 993divine.com with me, Big Rick Stewart, and music from my time at Live 105 and at KFOG. We also mix in some stories that I find kind of interesting, whether it's local music or food or tech or just kind of some cool things I think you ought to know about. It's always lots of fun. Fun music and great information happens every Saturday at 993divine.com. And the Wine Country Saturday Soundtrack Podcast features great information like this. Hey, it's the Wine Country Saturday Soundtrack. Fun music and great information. I am Big Rick Stewart. Thanks for hanging out with me today. And if you're a movie fan and you want to hang out with other movie fans, I think you got to go to the Cameo Cinema in St. Helena. I mean, anytime, really, but especially next Sunday, March 12th. I'm giving you advance notice because you kind of have to get a ticket in. You don't get into this whole thing. Cameo Cinema in St. Helena says, you are invited a live stream of the 95th Academy Awards, Sunday, March 12th. And yes, you can come and get on the red carpet and have photos taken and all that. I mean, they really go for it there. They're really into this because, well, I mean, this is what they do. You can bling out and you can dress as your favorite movie star or, you know, you don't have to. Tickets are $35. They've got a buffet and more. Cameo's just a really awesome place. I mean, I love that little theater. They always do really cool events, check their calendar. And next Sunday, it's their Academy Awards party. You might see some famous movie people, hint, hint, from the St. Helena area, hint, hint. I mean, you might, hanging out at Cameo for the Academy Awards. Although, actually, they might actually be at the Academy Awards. Anyway, I'm sure they'd love to have you be involved in the event. You'll have a great time. Thanks for hanging out with me today. It's the Wine Country Saturday Soundtrack at 99.3thevine.com. It's the Wine Country Saturday Soundtrack. I'm Big Rick Stewart. Thanks for hanging out with me today. Fun music and great information. I really like reading The Points Guy, which is a travel website. They have a story. Headline is, what would happen if you let your kids plan your Disney vacation? Hmm, there's actually a whole lot of detail here, but this is what it comes down to. Kids can change their mind about things all the time. And parents maybe like to come up with, like they say in this article, plan every single minute, from morning until evening, and bedtime, and you know, this ride and that ride, and go here and go there. So it turns out the kids planned everything for this Disney vacation. And they ended up eating a lot of junk food. Okay. Going on some of the rides. They didn't really want to wait in long lines. And some of the rides that the parents thought they would go on, they were like, maybe not so much, let's go to this one over here. So they kind of wanted to see a lot of things, do a lot of things, and like they said, eat a lot of things. The article says, by letting my kids take the lead, I learned that they actually don't care about racking up as many rides as possible. Instead, we took time to walk through the gift shop, stop to see the characters, and play some of the park's more interactive games. They did care about riding their favorite rides, although favorite can change from minute to minute, does that sound familiar, moms and dads. However, they didn't care about your meticulously planned schedule, or your Excel spreadsheet designed to get the most out of the day. They're happy to stop for half an hour and play at a play area, or sit down and eat a snack, rather than rush from one ride to the other. It was a good reminder that Disney can be even more fun when you slow down and take it all in. Man, is that good advice for Disney, and maybe life in general? I like that. All right, so you can find this article over at the Points Guide, and get some more details on that. It goes into a lot of detail. I'm Big Rick Stewart. Thanks for hanging out with me today. It's the Wine Country Saturday Soundtrack at 99threethevine.com. Hey, it's the Wine Country Saturday Soundtrack here at 99threethevine.com. Fun music and great information. If you are a Napa Sonoma, North Bay person, you know we've had just like the craziest winter of, well, I don't know, maybe of all time, but certainly in recent memory. Although we kind of need everything, right? We need all the rain and everything, but the snow and the icy roads and the closed roads and everything, CHP working hard, all the emergency officials, first responders, the people putting power poles back up, all that good stuff. All right, so thank you all for having the craziest January, February that we can remember in a while. And I don't know who decided to do this, but they must be clairvoyant. They could see into the future when they were rehearsing Be More Chill. This is a Broadway musical. There are 10 performances and it's part of the NHS Choir and they are at the District Auditorium through the 12th. They just got underway. You can still buy some tickets. So Napa High School Choir is performing Be More Chill. And actually, no, it's not about the weather chill. It's more about chill, man, how to be chill. Anyway, I just thought it was kind of rather timely to have this being performed here in Napa Valley. So go check them out. Support the Napa High School Choir in Be More Chill. And also warm up at the same time, hopefully a little bit for spring of 2023. You can find tickets online. And I'm Big Rick Stewart. It's the Wine Country Saturday Soundtrack at 99threetofvine.com. It's the Wine Country Saturday Soundtrack. I'm Big Rick Stewart. Thanks for hanging out with me today. Whatever you're doing, if you get to hang out all day, that's cool. Check in in the morning and then you got errands to do and then check in middays and afternoons, whatever. Tell your friends. Saw this story at the Press Democrat. Thought I'd share it with you because it's one of my favorite places. Gun Bun. Do you know about Gun Bun? Of course you do. Gunlog Bunshu would be the full name. And they even have a little diagram on how to pronounce the name of the winery. It's kind of near the border of Napa County and Sonoma County. All right, so they've got this new thing they're doing over there. Their goal is to expand their reach towards a younger, more diverse wine consumer by offering quality wines at affordable prices. So they kind of launched a new brand with some of their same great quality and more. Just like a new label, a new logo and things like that. First of all, they do a music festival that's really awesome. They booked some live music. It's a great place to visit and have a picnic. And now they've got some new wines to try. The label is called Gun Bun, G-U-N-B-U-N and they've got a Pinot Noir and a Cabernet Sauvignon, both under $30 and both sourced from the area right around the winery over there in Sonoma County. They say that, look, you know, younger people, we've always heard that they want to drink more wine, but they say there's a lot of really not so good wine. They actually say there's too much plonk out there at an accessible price. I think that's true. And also every wine tastes the same. The only difference is the label. After a while, we realized there was a market opportunity for better, more affordable wines that led to Gun Bun. All right, trying to get that younger crowd. Give them some good wines to drink at a good price. What an innovative idea, right? Instead of charging $150, you know, let them open their pocketbook a little bit and try some. Thank you Gun Bun for reaching out and good luck with the new project. I'm Big Rick Stewart. It's the Wine Country Saturday Soundtrack at 99threetofwine.com. It's the Wine Country Saturday Soundtrack. I'm Big Rick Stewart. Thanks for hanging out with me. We do this every Saturday. We start at 8 a.m. and we go all day. And if, you know, you get up that early, you might need a cup of coffee. If you go to a Starbucks right now in Italy, but coming to the U.S. very, very soon, maybe even as we speak. I might be testing this out. You might want to ask for it behind the counter. Olive oil infused coffee. Actually, I don't know if that's right. Coffee with olive oil. No, it could have more, correct. That's right. It's exactly what it sounds like. A cup of coffee and then they add some olive oil to it. And somebody at insider.com gave this a try. They were actually over in Italy and they gave this a try. This is kind of like an Italian thing where you just kind of have a sip of olive oil. So the head of Starbucks said, hmm, I wonder what this would taste like if we put this in coffee. So they had this and they had a cafe latte and some other drinks and more. And they say that for Starbucks customers, if you're accustomed to drinking Italian coffee, the iced shaken espresso would probably be a better choice than the cafe latte since it's more unique. The hazelnut syrup is also bound to make it more popular with those with a sweet tooth. And you know, you add some olive oil and it just kind of gives it a little different flavor. It doesn't taste like olive oil because I think the coffee flavors dominate. And if you add all these other flavors, they dominate. But it kind of gives you just a little extra thing to have on your Starbucks coffee. Give it a try at home. Why not? I have always heard from people that love olive oil, they just drink in a shot or two a day. It's kind of good for you. Now you can get it in your coffee at Starbucks. Coming soon to a Starbucks near you and me. Unless you're listening in Italy and then it's there right now. Interesting stuff. I'm Big Rick Stewart. It's the Wine Country Saturday Soundtrack at 99.3thevine.com. Hey, it's the Wine Country Saturday Soundtrack. Fun music and great information with me, Big Rick Stewart. You might be listening to 99.3thevine.com in your car while you're plugged in and charging away. You know, if you have an electric car. And you're listening to the station and having lots of fun and rocking out. Checking messages on your phone, whatever. All right, here's some electric charging news you might find useful. You probably will. Tesla is going to open up their supercharging stations to other electric vehicles. Now, if you didn't know, the plugs on Teslas and the plugs on other cars are not the same. And you have to have a Tesla to use a supercharger station. However, that is changing. Now, don't get too excited yet. There are just a handful in New York and there's just a couple here in California. But I'm sure that will change before, you know, the summertime driving season really fully kicks in. So here's how it works. You're going to have to have an app. You're going to need the Tesla app. And you're going to have to have an account. You pull into the Tesla supercharger stations and you say, I'm at, you know, charger number seven or whatever. And then it says, oh, okay. And then it says, oh, you don't have a Tesla. But that's okay because the charging station is going to have an adapter on the end. And if it knows that you are not a Tesla, it will give you that adapter when you pull it away from the charging station. If you do have a Tesla, it'll just work like it always has. And then you plug in and you charge away. How about that? So get ready to find more places to charge, which is always a good thing if you have an electric car. And thanks for hanging out with me, Big Rick Stewart, the Wine Country Saturday soundtrack at 99threetoffine.com. It's the Wine Country Saturday soundtrack. I'm Big Rick Stewart playing music from all my days at all the stations I've ever worked at. Let me think about this for a second. Okay, yeah. And then also some other music. So that would include The Quake, Live 105, Kate Fogg, Kate Fox, and here at the Vine, and you know, some bottle rock bands and new tunes and more. So thanks for hanging out today. Here's a story I thought I would share with you, especially if you're looking to buy a home in Italy. Wouldn't it be nice to have a little home in Italy, kind of hang out? How much would it cost you? Well, at the low end, one euro. One euro is like $2. Maybe it's not even $2. Maybe it's like $1.50. There's gotta be a catch. Yeah, there's a few catches. First of all, you might have heard about this program because other little Italian towns have done this. What happens is lots of people leave these little Italian towns and the young people aren't moving in. And so the town gets older and the homes kind of fall apart a little bit. And then, well, to prevent them from becoming ghost towns, some of them have come up with this idea for one euro homes. But yeah, here's the catch. You have to guarantee with the town, and actually I think leave a deposit, that you're going to fix up the home and you're going to use local contractors. And you have to do this all within like a year or so, something like that. So you gotta be involved in this and it takes commitment. How bad a condition are these homes in? Well, evidently it varies a lot. I mean, I've never seen them. But some of them don't have electricity or water and the foundations are crumbling and the roof is falling apart. Pretty much it needs everything. But you get a European Italian home for like a dollar. And these are tiny little towns. This one that just announced it is called St. Elia Panisi, kind of south of Rome. Now the actress Lorraine Bracco actually did a whole series where she did this and she renovated a home and moved in and she made it look really, really beautiful and totally awesome. I'm Big Rick Stewart. Hey, will you share some pictures if you buy one? Thanks for hanging out with me today. It's the Wine Country Saturday Soundtrack at 99threethevine.com.
