of Sinach's career and has become an anthem for believers everywhere. The lyrics of the song remind us that God is always with us, even in our darkest moments, and that He is always working for our good. The song encourages us to trust in Him and to worship Him, no matter what circumstances we may be facing. It is a powerful declaration of faith and a reminder of God's faithfulness. I think it very well could be In my day, it was Jazzy Jeff and the Fresh Prince with of course that massive mega hit Summertime But why not? Let's get this one on our radio Let's ask for it, request it on the main stations Go and do it, you know you want to Welcome to Believe Together We're gonna have another hour of more songs like this Summary or otherwise I mean, the weather outside I don't know, look outside now Is it summary, is it not? You know what it's like in Britain You get a mixture, don't you? Well, hopefully our current weather might give us a bit of a lift to encourage us Now you may remember me, George I used to do a lot of this stuff and I've been away for a little while but it's great to be back on the mic listening to some very summary sounds with all you guys Yes, and I'm Jenny back again And Peter's here with you as well We've got a great hour ahead I hope you enjoy it as much as we do And now, let's find out the answers for last week's Just For Fun quiz Over to Celia The last week's answers to our summer holiday quiz Rick Stein has his four restaurants in Padstow And the lovely headland known as the Mumbles on the Gower coast is south of Swansea which is just across one of the seven bridges Of course, Banks' Dismal Land was at the Tropicana in Western Supermare So I wonder if you went to see it And I can't believe that that was eight years ago Thank you, Celia Now, my leprosy mission diaverse of the week is from Philippians 4-8 and it says Whatever is true Whatever is noble Whatever is right Whatever is pure Whatever is lovely Whatever is admirable If anything is excellent or praiseworthy think about such things Now, we have something admirable for our first summer special next week Tune in and find out what it is Whatever is true Whatever is noble Whatever is right Whatever is pure Whatever is lovely Whatever is admirable If anything is excellent or praiseworthy think about such things think about such things Whatever is true Whatever is noble Whatever is right Whatever is pure Whatever is lovely Whatever is admirable If anything is excellent or praiseworthy think about such things think about such things Whatever is true Whatever is noble Whatever is right Whatever is pure Whatever is lovely Whatever is admirable If anything is excellent or praiseworthy think about such things think about such things think about such things think about such things think about such things Philippians 4 verse 8 There we are, that was Think About Such Things by Truth Songs I actually remember having Philippians 4 verse 8 as a really slow sort of rap when I was part of a children's ministry called PowerPoint way back in the 90s that would have been under the guide of Richard Hubbard great guitarist and yeah, I still remember to this day Philippians 4 verse 8 that's how I remember it so there you go, it worked, it worked Rich Well Celia, it's time for your quiz to start what have you got to battle us with this week? Well today the quiz is an old favourite true or false so you have two chances to be right or wrong OK UK driving laws say drivers must stop at a zebra crossing for waiting pedestrians is this true or false? Well I'm not sure what the current updated law is but I know for a fact that if it's a zebra crossing particularly if it's not divided up into lanes it's on my side then if I'm approaching the crossing and I see a pedestrian waiting to cross I will stop otherwise it could be quite dangerous Yes, and I would throw in another thought that when we moved from London to Keynsham one of the biggest changes we noticed was that in London we had to force our way and fight our way out onto zebra crossings and basically get in the way of the traffic in order to get across and when we came to Keynsham we were a bit sort of scared really because if we walked near the edge of a zebra crossing cars started stopping for us even if we weren't planning on crossing there Oh, we'll find out the answers later in this show Hey Peter, I've now got a zebra crossing joke for you Oh, great Right, I was in town today and saw an old lady trying to cross the road every time she stepped off the kerb a car nearly knocked her down I shouted at her There's a zebra crossing down there She shouted back I hope he's having more luck than I am Oh And here's another zebra crossing joke Why did the lion cross the road? I don't know To stop the zebra crossing Oh dear OK, well this is not a zebra crossing joke but it is a zebra joke Why do zebras have stripes? I've no idea I don't want to be spotted Oh It's that time of year isn't it with schools in England closed for the holidays where many leisure activities close as they're only term time ones It seems a shame for those who enjoy these activities and won't be going away on holiday but I guess leaders and helpers of these things do need a holiday too Now the St John's Church Sunday morning youth group is called Waymakers and they've just had their last session before the summer holidays That's a lovely name, Waymakers, isn't it? Hopefully many young people in Keynsham and Stortford will be following Jesus, the Waymaker Just before we play our next track, Waymaker the artist who actually sings it is called Synak and you may have heard of her but to be honest I don't think a lot of us have I know that until recently I'd not heard of her So who is Synak? She apparently took her name from her full name and I'm going to try and say this as well as I can Osinaki Kelu Okoru Egbu and as a child she always saw herself singing in front of large crowds She didn't start out in a musical career though but graduated with a degree in physics from the University of Port Harcourt Rivers State in Nigeria She married Joseph Egbu in 2014 and became a mother five years later She didn't start singing until 1989 but did it as a hobby only while enjoying a career as a staff member at her church and in her spare time Synak wrote songs and her first album called Chapter 1 was released in 2008 That same year her song This is Your Season won Song of the Year, amazing The Synak Waymaker song was inspired while she was reading the passages in Genesis 12 1-5 which say Go from your country, your people and your father's household to the land I will show you I will make you into a great nation and I will bless you I will make your name great and you will be a blessing I will bless those who bless you and whoever curses you I will curse and all peoples on earth will be blessed through you Synak wrote Waymaker so that everyone could be strengthened by the scriptures in Genesis 5 The song was released on December 30, 2015 on YouTube and was certified gold less than a year later It was such a popular song that it has been translated into 50 languages and has been recorded by dozens of very popular Christian musical artists It is also sung in churches all over the world The song Waymaker was undoubtedly the biggest hit in the Christian music world in 2020 So let's listen to that song right now Waymaker by Synak I worship you You are here Moving in on me I worship you I worship you You are here Working in this flesh I worship you I worship you I worship you Waymaker, miracle worker Promise keeper Light in the darkness My God That is who you are Waymaker, miracle worker Promise keeper Light in the darkness My God That is who you are You are here Thoughts in every heart I worship you I worship you You are here Healing every heart I worship you I worship you You are here Turning lives around I worship you I worship you You are here Lending every heart I worship you I worship you Waymaker, miracle worker Promise keeper Light in the darkness My God That is who you are Waymaker, miracle worker Promise keeper Light in the darkness Yes, waymaker Miracle worker Promise keeper Light in the darkness My God That is who you are Your wife, the way of Jesus Your man, the broken heart You're the answer to it all Jesus Jesus Your wife, the way of Jesus Your man, the broken heart You're the answer to it all To it all Jesus Waymaker, miracle worker Promise keeper Light in the darkness My God That is who you are Waymaker, miracle worker Promise keeper Light in the darkness My God That is who you are You are here Touching every life I worship you I worship you You are here Meeting every need I worship you I worship you And now, over to Celia for the second question for the Just for Fun quiz A metre is longer than a yard Is that right? That is a tough one I should know this and it's been a long time since I had to measure anything with a sort of metre stick but thinking about how long a metre is I thought a yard was three feet I'm probably well off on this because it's old money isn't it no one uses these measurements now really but in my head I'm going to say No, my luck is probably the opposite isn't it Hey, talking about metres and yards I've got some jokes about yard sticks You remember those yard sticks? They don't make them any longer Ah Now, what has one foot at the beginning one at the end and one in the middle Yes, a yard stick Ok They get worse What has three feet but no legs Yeah, a yard stick Mmm And now, for the Thought for the Week for the Kingsham Talking Newspaper Hello again This is June Low signing in for the last of July's epilogues Life is full of decisions and choices and sometimes it's difficult to make the right decisions and the right choices This week we are imagining what an atheist might say about faith and what the Christian might say about faith and their choices What I'm going to read to you now is read from the top down for the atheist point of view and then from the bottom up for the Christian point of view An atheist's view on faith might be something like this I will live my life according to these beliefs God does not exist It is just foolish to think that there is a God with a cosmic plan That an all-powerful God brings redemption and healing to the pain and suffering of the world is a comforting thought However, it is only wishful thinking People can do as they please without eternal consequences The idea that I am deserving of hell because of sin is a lie meant to make me a slave to those in power Oh, the more you have, the happier you will be Our existence has no grand meaning or purpose In a world with no God there is freedom to be who I want to be but with God Everything is fine It is ridiculous to think I am lost and in need of saving And a Christian's view on faith might be something like this I am lost and in need of saving It is ridiculous to think Everything is fine but with God there is freedom to be who I want to be In a world with no God our existence has no grand meaning or purpose The more you have, the happier you will be is a lie meant to make me a slave to those in power Because of sin, I am deserving of hell The idea people can do as they please without consequences is only wishful thinking It is a comforting thought, however that an all-powerful God brings redemption and healing to the pain and suffering of the world That there is a God with a cosmic plan It is just foolish to think God does not exist I will live my life according to these beliefs Can you spot the difference? My prayer is that going back to last week's epilogue when we're encouraged to decide that we're going to have a good day, every day that all our decisions and choices will always be the good ones May the Lord bless and keep you. May he lift his face and shine upon you. May he give you his grace and his peace, now and always Amen This is June Love signing off, and until we meet again, stay safe and well. Now, for the next three weeks of shows, we are going to be having specials. Now, in our specials, we won't be giving you the answers to this week's quiz, so we thought we couldn't keep everybody waiting a whole month to find the answers, so we're going to give them to you now. Now, do look out for the three special programs over these next three weeks. They're on completely different subjects. We really hope you'll enjoy them a lot. And then we'll be back to the normal sort of programs with news and everything else, as usual, after that. Here we go. And now, let's find out the answers of Celia. So, now we have the answers to the quizzes today. The driving laws that say drivers must stop at a zebra crossing for waiting pedestrians is false. You only need to stop for people already on the crossing. And a metre is longer than a yard, so that's true, because a metre is 39 inches long and a yard is 36 inches long. And if you're like me, I'm still thinking in inches and feet, as I was taught at school. And the highest mountain in England? That's false. It's not Ben Nevis, because Ben Nevis is in Scotland. So, did I catch you out on that one? Thank you again so much, Celia, for producing us these lovely quizzes every week. Now, let's have a few more what's-ons. Last week, we mentioned some of the Christian charities that the Keynsham Church of England Parish support. And we asked if anybody would like to tell us, please, of any charities supported by other local churches. And we still look forward to some replies. Mind you, we have heard that one church have just sent a team to Poland to assist in running a camp for youngsters from Poland and Ukraine. But we don't have any date for their return. The monthly Saturday community lunches pilot is on August the 12th at One Community Trust, OCT. They'll be organising a free Saturday community lunch for people who are struggling. They may be lonely or struggling to put a meal on the table for whatever reason. This will start in the parish hall 12 to 2pm on Saturday the 12th of August. It is based on a successful scheme already running in Midsomer Norton. We've asked to pray for this. And if we know anyone who might benefit, to please let them know. So for more information or to book a place for yourself, please contact Paul Jenkins on octkeynsham at outlook.com. Now, a date for your diary because it's not coming up just yet. We mentioned it last week as well. It's fundraising for the RUH Bath Cancer Care and Cancer Research UK. It's about a tabletop sale. Do you like a good tabletop sale? Maybe you want to sell something or go and buy something. But it's on Saturday the 9th of September from 10 to 4pm in St John's Parish Hall. You can purchase handmade crafts including cards, pictures, cushions, fudge and much more. All sorts of things going on as well as stalls and of course the inevitable refreshments. So why not get in contact if you want to have a table for £10 whole or part of the day. You can contact someone and details will be on our Facebook page. The Ecumenical Christian Meditation Group is meeting again on Tuesday 1st August from 2.30pm to 3.30pm in St Dunstan's Hall. And the next Arts Group meets on Wednesday 2nd August from 11am to 1pm in St Dunstan's Hall. Now, have you got along to any of the table sessions on Mondays from 10 until 1? Or the Grow Together sessions at the One Community Trust Building and Garden? Well, these will be closed for the summer holidays. But the Sanctuary Garden down by Dapps Hill behind the Green Iron Gates will be open for drop-in and refreshments between 10am and 12. We assume that means Mondays. Now, there will also be an opportunity to help with both gardens over the holidays. For any more information please contact Trevor James. Again, there will be a link on our Facebook page. But if you want an email address it's trevorjames at cainshamparish.org.uk or of course you can go to the parish office for more details. Now, here are some news headlines from around the world. People paint pictures, people press flowers, people knit, sew. Oh, just all sorts of things. Anyway, the other day I went to Bath. Oh yes, I got out of Keynsham on the bus with a friend. We went to Bath and we went in the Victoria Art Gallery. Now, I didn't know if there were any special exhibitions on or not, but I just thought it would be lovely to have a look round. Well, it turns out there was a special exhibition on and it was of quilting. Now, I've never done any quilting myself, although I've been tempted to have a go, but I don't think I can find the time. There was quilting everywhere, mostly great big quilts, surprisingly. Also, people had quilted mirrors. Now, that may sound strange, but there were various shaped mirrors with beautiful displays around the mirrors of all sorts of things people have used to make a theme. There might be a cup and saucer and different things to do with having tea or there were things with shells on. Anyway, it was generally very lovely. Well, when I came home, what did I find? I discovered, of course on Facebook, a poem, an anonymous poem about quilting. So, let's hear that poem. It's called Ode to My Wife the Quilter. Ode to My Wife the Quilter She learned to quilt on Monday. Her stitches all were very fine. She forgot to thaw out dinner, so we went out to dine. She quilted miniatures on Tuesday. She says they are a must. They really were quite lovely, but she forgot to dust. On Wednesday, it was a sampler. She says stippling's fun. What highlights! What shadows! But the laundry wasn't done. Her patches were on Thursday. Green, yellow, blue and red. I guess she was really engrossed. She never made the bed. It was wall hangings on Friday. In colour she adores. It never bothered her at all, the crumbs on the floors. I found a maid on Saturday. My week is now complete. My wife can quilt the hours away. The house will still be neat. Well, it's already Sunday. I think I'm about to wilt. I cursed, I raved, I ranted. The maid has learned to quilt. We really would like to say thank you to so many involved in this week's Believe Together show. George, Blaze, Celia, Des and of course June Low. And thank you to you for listening. Please let us know that you've listened or we've no idea if anyone has actually listened to it. Well, anyway, I'd like to say goodbye and trust you'll have a good week. Now we have a little extra breaking news for you. If any of you are online, there's a new website we've discovered called, very simply, audio.com. And it is a free website. Anyone can post audio on this website and anyone can listen to it from there. So why not? Let's put our shows up there as well. So it's one new more way to listen to Believe Together. Just go there and search for Believe Together and you should begin to find it from this week onwards. Now, it's almost time for me to say goodbye, yes. But before we play out, let's have a blessing from Des and a musical blessing. But even before that, we've just had another request for a birthday. Once again, it's our friend David. His good wife June has told us a song that he really loves and it's Coat of Many Colours by Dolly Parton. What a great song to have now as we've come right up to the end of the show. Let's enjoy it. Back through the years I go wondering once again Back to the seasons of my youth I recall the box of rags that someone gave us And how my mama put the rags to use There were rags of many colours But every piece was small And I didn't have a coat And it was the way down in the fall Mama sewed the rags together Sewing every piece with love She made my coat of many colours That I was so proud of As she sewed she told a story From the Bible she had read About a coat of many colours Joseph wore and then she said Perhaps this coat will bring you Good luck and happiness And I just couldn't wait to wear it And mama blessed it with tears My coat of many colours That my mama made for me Made only from rags But I wore it so proudly Although we had no money I was rich as I could be In my coat of many colours My mama made for me So with patches on my breeches And holes in both my shoes In my coat of many colours I hurried off to school Just to find the others laughing And making fun of me In my coat of many colours My mama made for me And oh I couldn't understand it For I felt I was rich And I told them all the love My mama sewed in every stitch And I told them all the stories Mama told me what she sewed And how my coat of many colours Was worth more than all their clothes But they didn't understand it And I tried to make them see That one is only poor Only if they choose to be Now I know we had no money But I was rich as I could be In my coat of many colours My mama made for me Made just for me And now, Earth to Death, for this week's blessing Gracious Lord Jesus, help us all to remember That the things you give to us Are to be held in trust And to be shared with others May we all be blessed by you this day Amen So now it's goodbye indeed for me We do hope that you'll really enjoy The three special shows over the next three weeks Now, we're going to play out With a very gentle and quiet blessing From the Australian Youth Call Group May the Lord be with you And may the peace of peace Always be your guide May the sunshine Shine on us every day And may we know The Lord to be with us May we live Life living Again May God hold truly The palm of your hand May a rose rise up To meet you May a wind Be always at your back May the sunshine Fall upon your face And the rain fall soft Upon your skin Till we meet again We meet again May God hold you In His hands
