Basil Hall Chamberlain

Basil Hall Chamberlain, who lived from 18 October 1850 to 15 February 1935, was a prominent figure in the field of British Japanology during the late 19th century. He was a professor of Japanese at Tokyo Imperial University and made significant contributions to the study of Japan.
