This is not Under the Helmet. My name is Dylan Williams and this is a podcast where I will never apologize for the strong, hot, and biased picks that come from both professional and collegiate gridiron. Get ready and strap in as I unleash the untamed spirit of football fandom. Join me as we dissect native plays, drama, and stir up controversy within the world of great American football. Okay, for this episode, we are going to have some action-packed stuff in here. For the schedule, we will be mostly talking about the Chiefs draft picks and then we will go on a little more in depth on the Chiefs draft picks with each draft pick and a little bit of the NFL first round from the NFL draft and then a quick update on some K-State sports news. To start off with this week's awesome action-packed episode, for the Chiefs draft picks, our first draft pick was the 28th draft pick, the Kansas City Chiefs select wide receiver Xavier Worthy. This pick honestly surprised me in a way. I really thought and I really did want an A.D. Mitchell from Texas, but we still got a wide receiver from Texas. We got Xavier Worthy, the new record holder of the 40-yard dash of the NFL Combine with a 4-2-1 40-yard dash. It beat the previous record held by John Ross III of 4-2-2. Let me check real quick. Xavier Worthy is 5'11", 165. He's pretty much a Tyree Hill replacement. I'd say he kind of has more of...I'm trying to think of a comparison. Tank Dell is a really good one. He's just a super fat...he's a faster Tank Dell. Something else on Tank Dell that happened today, he actually got shot in Florida, but he's expected to make a full recovery, so prayers to him. Prayers to Tank Dell. Back on Xavier Worthy, something is strange that when I looked up his stats on his draft and Combine prospect profile, on his prospect profile from NFL.com, it says that he's 5'11", 165, but if you go on ESPN, it says he's 6'1", 172. That's two inches different. I feel like that's...how does that happen? I don't get it. That is definitely strange. But yeah, back at her. Chiefs pick him with the 20th pick. We traded down with Buffalo for an exchange of picks. The Buffalo Bills did select...no, not...the Buffalo Bills selected Keon Coleman, which they traded down again once they got back. Once we traded with them for the 22nd pick, and we got the 28th pick from them. They traded down again to be out of day one, and then they, with the 33rd pick, they picked a Keon Coleman wide receiver out of Florida State. Keon Coleman's more of a jump ball kind of guy. He's not super fast. I was really expecting the Bills were going to pick A.D. Mitchell because he just kept on falling and falling. Let me double check when A.D. Mitchell did get drafted. It was more early-middle of the NFL draft. That's just wild. He went to the Colts. If I was a Colts fan, wow, I'd be ecstatic. That's just wild. If I was a Colts fan, wow, I'd be ecstatic. If I was a Colts fan, wow, I'd be ecstatic. That's just wild. If I was a Colts fan, wow, I'd be ecstatic. That's just wild NFL draft grade. Let's look here. He has a prospect grade of 6.17, which is really good. It says that it has a good backup with the potential to be developed into a starter, which I think he will start. He is 6'5 and 326 pounds, my bad. NFL draft grade. Let's look here. He has a prospect grade of 6.17, which is really good. It says that it has a good backup with the potential to be developed into a starter, which I think he will start. He is 6'5 and 326 pounds, my bad. Yeah, he's not very fast. He had a 5.04. According to NextGenStats, he has a score breakdown with an athleticism score of 82, which in the 2010 draft, he had a 5.04. He's not very fast. He had a 5.04. According to NextGenStats, he has a score breakdown with an athleticism score of 82, which in the 2010 draft, he had a 5.04. According to NextGenStats, he has a score breakdown with an athleticism score of 82, which in the 2024 Combined Offensive Tackle Rank, it is 6. He has a production score of 75, which for the 2024 Combined Offensive Tackle Rank is 8. And then a total score of 79 for the 2024 Offensive Tackle Rank of 8. I did not list off Xavier Worthy's draft grade, so let me go back to that. Xavier Worthy has a prospect grade of 6.29. It says it will be eventually an average starter. That's cap, truly. He has an athleticism score of 98, which I'm guessing that the maximum score is 100. And for the 2024 Combined Wide Receiver Ranking, he is 1st. He has a production score of 81, which in the Combined ranked 5th for wide receivers and a total score of 88, which ranked 3rd for wide receivers. Obviously, he did break the record with a 4.21.40. I just can't imagine Mahomes with that. It's just insane. People are saying he's getting compared to Tank Dell. That's a good comparison. There's also the comparison of Deshaun Jackson, but just faster and better in every category. He's faster. He's taller. During the draft, Deshaun Jackson weighed 169, Xavier Worthy 165. He has a faster tenure split. So yeah, I just can't wait for Andy Reid to just destroy defenses with what we have on offense with Xavier Worthy, Hollywood Brown, Rasheed Rice. Travis Kelsey, obviously. Pacheco, Luis Reyes, however you say that. Can't forget about that guy. But yeah, we'll probably be using Xavier Worthy in a lot of screens and go get them. Go get the ball downfield type deals. Back on our second pick of Kingsley, Sumata Ia. One thing that he's apparently related to Puka Nakua and Pene Sewell, which is crazy. They're both kind of like Pacific Islanders. I mean, all three of them are. Kind of area. And I'm not trying to be racist or anything, but yes, I do see how they could be related. Lots of family. Family is very big down there. Kingsley was a five-star recruit out of high school, and that is it for him. For our first round pick, with the 131st pick, the Chief Select Tight End Jared Wiley. He's a tight end out of TCU, and he actually used to be a backup keybie at Texas. One crazy stat is he's 6'6", 250, and he still ran a 4'6", 240-yard dash, which is just insane to think about. He's 23 years old, which is honestly kind of old for a player coming out of the draft compared to most. A lot of rookies are 21, 22. 23 is kind of like on the older side because he did play five years. He didn't have much production at Texas. With a total of 19 receptions between three years at Texas. Obviously, he was a backup keybie, so he wasn't actually purely playing tight end. His most productive year at Texas had nine receptions, 166 yards with one touchdown. Then after 2021, for the 2022 season, he transferred to TCU in 2022. Compared to the rest of his years at Texas, he had the most productive year so far with 24 receptions, 245 yards, and four touchdowns. Then he pretty much about doubled everything for the next year in 2023 at TCU with 47 receptions, 520 yards, and eight touchdowns. That's very good. This guy is perfect as a Blake Bell replacement. He'll be better than Blake Bell. I think he's another guy who we could just put in at QB, kind of like what we did with Blake Bell, and put him in sneaks. It'll be perfect. Andy Reid and Brett Beach absolutely cooked on this pick. There's many highlights of him just going up and getting the ball, snatching it from the defenders. During the senior blow, I think he had an amazing diving one-handed grab. Just insane. Yeah, it's crazy. Going to his prospect grade, he had a 5.95, which is an average backup or special teamer. That's a cap. I think he'll be, honestly, tied in three by the end of the year. Maybe. I don't know. We have good depth. The Chiefs have good depth at tied in with Kelsey, obviously, at tied in one. Then it'll be Noah Gray at tied in two. We have the tied in that came in from the Bengals. I totally just blinked on his name. For the time being, I think Jared Wiley will be tied in four. I think he will make the active roster. I do think we will be carrying four tied ins. I also want to be surprised if the tied in from the Bengals does not make the active roster and we carry three tied ins. I think at the start of the year, last year, we did carry three tied ins. I can't remember the exact roster stats and other stuff like that. He has an athleticism score of 75, which ranked 9th. For a total score of 72, which ranked 7th among 2024 combined tied ins. Like I said earlier, he was 6'6", 250, and he still ran a 4'6", 2. He had a vertical of 37 inches and a broad jump of 9'10". There is no NFL comparison, but I would say a good NFL comparison for him is about, I don't know, maybe even Gronk. I don't know, to be honest. He'll be a really good blocker for us. Some of the strengths it has is that he uses his height and length to play over the rim. Willingness to get physical at the top of his route. Super sharp focus and uses his size. Good footwork for blocking, but apparently some of his weaknesses include lax desired footwork to get in and out of breaks cleanly. Will sit and wait rather than working back to the throw. That's obviously going to need to change with playing with Patrick Mahomes. But yeah, I think he's a great prospect for the Chiefs. Super big body. Just, yeah, great. A lot of our contested catches he just goes up and grabs them. Surprised that he wasn't picked sooner than the 4th round. Great pick by the Chiefs here. With our next pick, the 4th round with the 133rd pick, just two picks later, Chiefs select safety Jaden Hicks out of Washington State. Jaden Hicks is 6'2", 2'11", with an actual total score from his next-gen stats score breakdown. From all 2024 Combine defensive backs, he ranked first, which is crazy. For the 4th round, we got the number one guy for that. Insane. He has a prospect grade of 6.24, and it says that he will eventually be an average starter. I think he will start, or I think he will be starting sometime this season. He had a 40 of a 4.5, which is fine for safety. It's still pretty good. He has good size and speed. Super big hitter at a weight of 2'11", but you would obviously want to see something like that as a safety. Super good tackler. Obviously he played at Washington State. There's a lot of really good wide receivers that are always in the Pac-12. Just saw a highlight of him picking off a jump ball off of Jalen Polk, who went in the 2nd round. Polk went to the Patriots this year, so perfect pick. Great pick by Brett Veach and company. 5th round pick with the 159th pick, Chief Select O-lineman Hunter Norzad from Penn State. He has played each offensive tackle guard and center at Penn State. I think we drafted him. Let's see. I would say we probably drafted him as a backup guard. I see him as a honestly better Nick Allegretti replacement, because he seems like the type of guy who, if he ever needs someone to just go up on the O-line, he's the guy. Really like that pick. Let's see here. He had a total score of 66, which was 2nd in the 2024 Combine Offensive Lineman Ranking. Let's see here. In 2022, he was an honorable all-mention for the All-Big-10 Conference, starting 8 of 11 games played at left guard. In 2023, he was 2nd team All-Big-10 Conference, starting all 13 games at center. So I think that's what we drafted him as, as a center. One crazy stat is from PFF, he's one of 10 Power 5 centers to not allow a sack in all of 2023, which is great. He is, I'd have to say 23, so seems about right. And then with the next pick by the Chiefs, in the 6th round with the 211th pick, it's cornerback Kamal Hayden out of Tennessee. I see him more as a Sneed replacement. He has good size and speed at 6'1", 196. He had a production score of 71, which was ranked 1st in the Combine this year, of all defensive backs. And he had a prospect grade of 5.96, which graded him as an average backup or special teamer. He actually came from Independence Community College in Kansas, which is crazy. That's awesome. Let's see here. Yep, strength, well built with good length and strength outside. I saw something where he was ranked 1st among defensive backs, among draft-eligible defensive backs this year, with past breakups, which is very crazy to think about. And then with our next, with the last pick in the 7th round by the Kansas City Chiefs, 248th pick, it's guard C.J. Hanson. He's at a Holy Cross, just another backup alignment. He was actually projected to be in the 6th round. We got him at the end of the 7th. He is 6'5", 300 pounds. And he had a prospect grade of 5.8, which was an average backup or special teamer. With his athleticism score test, among 2024 Combine offensive linemen, was 3rd with 74. I don't completely, honestly understand all these score breakdowns, but I'm just saying them because they sound, I don't know, they sound good. He had a 5-second even 40-yard dash, which is decent for O-line. I wouldn't say it's bad, but it's, you know, it's not, like, good. His last two years as a starter at Holy Cross, he was 1st team all-Patriot League. Both times, he started all games at right guard and was a team captain. That was the end of all the picks in the NFL draft, but then they did get some notable UDFAs, undrafted free agents. My boy Phillip Brooks from K-State, wide receiver, great pick. I think he'll be a good special teamer. I think he can be. Many punt returns out of K-State. It's great. Another pickup from the Chiefs is Imani Bailey, running back out of TCU. He's a good pickup. Super, pretty fast guy out of TCU. He was their starter. He was one of the best in the Big 12 when he played. Surprised he didn't get drafted. And then another running back, Carson Steele, out of UCLA. More of, like, a power back. Just goes low, trucks people, all that. But he's not super big, you know. But obviously, you can't forget about Luis Rizemet. He is 6'3", 195. He came from Wales playing rugby. And I will see him playing mostly as running back and punt returner, but I will also expect him to see snaps at wide receiver and kick returner for the Kinson Chiefs. Now let's look at the total first-run picks from the NFL Draft. I think Caleb Williams to the Bears was perfect. That was the most obvious pick. Even from last year, I think it was more obvious as the first overall pick. Although he may see him as a diva, he has great weapons at the ninth pick. The Bears also selected Roma Dunzey, the second-best wide receiver off the board from Washington, and played with Michael Penix. Very good route runner. See him as a Chris Olave, but better, in my opinion. Yeah, second pick was Jaden Daniels to LSU. I see this as a pretty good fit as well. Obviously, I thought Jaden Daniels was going to go to the Patriots at the third pick, but the Patriots ended up selecting Drake May out of North Carolina. First three picks are quarterbacks. I see Jaden Daniels kind of as...I don't know if I...same as Justin Fields, kind of. Draft player comparison. Justin Fields, maybe some RG3. Jaden Daniels won Heisman, and so did RG3, so I see that comparison. Drake May, I kind of see as maybe like a Walmart Josh Allen. I could definitely see him...well, obviously Josh Allen when he was coming into the league. He wasn't super good, but then they were able to develop him. With the Patriots' new front office and staff, I do see that he could be developed into a pretty good starter and potentially a franchise quarterback for the Patriots. I don't think he has as strong of an arm as Justin Herbert, but I definitely see that. Fourth pick was Marvin Harrison Jr. Probably the best fit here, as I see. It's pretty obvious, too. I think the first three were definitely going to be Caleb Williams, Jaden Daniels, and then Drake May. But a lot of people did it...were mixing up Jaden Daniels, Drake May. Didn't know which one was going to go to which team. The most, I think, mock drafts was Drake May to the Commanders, actually, but then I think the second most gimme besides Caleb Williams to the Bears was Marvin Harrison Jr. to the Cardinals. They still have Kyler Murray. I still think Kyler Murray is a decent franchise quarterback, and he has been. They just need O-line. But I think the wide receiver was a bigger need, especially since losing Hollywood Brown, who went to the Chiefs. And he has a pro comp of A.J. Green. I think Marvin Harrison Jr. will definitely be in the running for Rookie of the Year. And I think he'll be really good on fantasy, too. He's 6'3", 209, and he's a fast go-getter, go-get-the-ball type of guy. Fifth pick, charge or select, Joe Alt, offensive tackle out of Notre Dame. I think this is a pretty good pick. But, I don't know. I think their need for wide receiver was more, but I just think that they did make the correct pick with Joe Alt because you can still get... This wide receiver draft class was really deep, so I still think that them going Joe Alt in, he'll definitely be a franchise offensive left tackle for them. I think that was a really good pick. Sixth pick was Malik Neighbors out of LSU. That was a really good pick in my opinion as well. I did see some things that they shouldn't have picked him because apparently he did have some character issues from LSU, which is just another OBJ kind of ordeal there. But, I do think... I honestly couldn't tell who was the better wide receiver between Malik Neighbors and Roman Madonze. I do think that Malik Neighbors was the better pick, although with all the wide receivers that have played at LSU in the past, like OBJ, Justin Jefferson, Jamal Chase, like... I just think that... Well, apparently he broke all their records, which is just insane to think about. That he broke all the records from OBJ, Justin Jefferson, Jamal Chase. It's just crazy to think about. Titans, with the seventh pick, picked J.C. Latham, offensive tackle out of Alabama. Good pick by them. They need O-line, especially with them having a couple older wide receiver guys with DeAndre Hopkins and then Calvin Ridley. I do think they have a potential franchise quarterback with Will Lettuce. I do think he will be a good quarterback for the Titans. With the eighth pick, the Falcons, very surprisingly, picked Michael Pennings Jr., quarterback out of Washington. This was easily the most surprising pick out of the whole draft. I just don't really see why. I think that if the Falcons were to select a quarterback, I would either do it later in the draft or I'd do it next year, because Kirk Cousins did have a... He signed a three-year contract. He is getting old, but Kirk Cousins has been a franchise quarterback. I just don't understand why they do that. If anything, who else is there? There's still Roma Dunzey. There's offensive tackle out of Penn State, Alou Fashanu. There's Brock Bowers. There's defense, D. Lineman, down there. I don't like the pick. I don't. I do think that if Michael Pennings... I think a perfect fit would be for him was the Vikings, and I did think he was going to go to the Vikings, but I don't... That pick is just off to me. And then, with the ninth overall pick, the Bears select Roma Dunzey, water receiver, Washington, perfect pick. Just get the guy. I did hear that... Sorry. That Caleb Williams did want an offensive tackle. I forgot exactly which one, but he was... It could have been Talese Fuaga or Alou Fashanu, but he played high school football with one of those guys, and I think that's who he's wanting. I still think it was a good pick by the Bears to get Roma Dunzey. Just stack the wide receiver core. They traded for Keenan Allen. They had D.J. Moore, and now they have Roma Dunzey. Watch out for the Bears this year. They are going to be scary. I do see them as a playoff team this year. Vikings select J.J. McCarthy, quarterback out of Washington. They traded up for him. J.J. McCarthy is just going to be the next Zach Wilson. Maybe even worse. J.J. McCarthy was in the easiest situation of all time for a quarterback. It was just run the ball with Blake Corham. They had an amazing line, amazing defense, good weapons still. McCarthy, I don't know. He's just not going to be good. He's not at all. Come back to this podcast, I don't care. He's going to suck. If I was a Vikings fan, I would hate my life. That's what I would do. I would hate it. I don't like the pick at all. I did want to see J.J. McCarthy go to the Broncos just so I can laugh at the Broncos even more, but I can't do that now. Thanks, Vikings. With the 11th pick, the Jets select Olu Fashanu, offensive tackle out of Penn State. It's a good pick for them. Need protection for Aaron Rodgers and so forth. With the 12th pick, the Broncos select Bo Nix, quarterback out of Oregon. Great pick by the Broncos here. Obviously, I do not like the Broncos as a Chiefs fan, so I rather have seen J.J. McCarthy go to the Broncos. Bo Nix could just be another bust for the Broncos. I'm stereotyping here, but they could just be selecting these tall, white quarterbacks that they always like, drafting-wise. It never works out for them. Especially the super religious ones. Bo Nix is super religious. Guess who else was super religious? Russell Wilson. That did not work out. The obvious choice was... I'm just blanking on his name here. How can I forget his name? Oh my goodness. Oh, Tim Tebow. Of course. Duh. Tim Tebow. Did that work out for them? Maybe. For a little bit for one year. Because it did win a playoff game with him. But, yeah. I still think Bo Nix could be good, though. Moving forward. With the 13th pick, Raiders select Brock Bowers out of Georgia. Tight end out of Georgia. I hate it. Good pick for the Raiders, but as a Chiefs fan, I hate it. Because now they have Michael Mayer, tight end out of Notre Dame from last year, and now they have Brock Bowers, so they get the top tight end out of both drafts, back-to-back years. I mean, they're not going to have a quarterback. And they say, I don't know. Do they really think Aiden O'Connell could be a good quarterback for them this year? No. He's not going to. Okay. He's not going to turn into Derek Carr. Because if they had Derek Carr, and they had these crazy weapons, they would be good. They'd be a playoff team. But they don't. They have Aiden O'Connell throwing to Devontae Adams, Michael Mayer, and Brock Bowers. So, yeah. Good for them. Congratulations, I guess. The 14th pick, Saints select Talese Fuaga, offensive tackle out of Oregon State. Protect the quarterback. Very important in the league. 15th pick, Colts select Latu Edge out of UCLA. Good pick here. A lot of people were saying Brock Bowers was going to be able to fall to the Colts, and that was going to be the perfect pick for them. But good pick here. Choosing Edge from the Colts. With the 16th pick, Seahawks select Byron Murphy II, defensive tackle out of Texas. Great pick here. That guy's going to be super good. I saw a lot of Julius Peppers connections, you know. Thinking he'll be the next Julius Peppers. 17th pick, Vikings select Dallas Turner Edge out of Alabama. I think that guy's going to be really good. I think he'll even be able to be in contention for defensive rookie of the year. That's how good I think that guy's going to be. Bengals select, with the 18th pick, Amarius Mims, offensive tackle out of Georgia. Protect Joe Burrow, I guess. I hate the Bengals. They're easily my most hated team right now. I hate the Bengals so much. So I don't like this pick. But yeah, good pick for the Bengals. With the 19th pick, the Los Angeles Rams select Jared Verse, Edge out of Florida State. That guy's going to be really good. I think he'll also be in really good, very high comparison. Very high as in going in for the race for defensive rookie of the year. I don't know my words. With the 20th pick, the Steelers select Troy Fatanu, offensive guard out of Washington. Protect Justin Fields or Russell Wilson, I guess. Good for the Steelers. With the 21st pick, the Dolphins select Chopper Robinson out of Penn State. Edge out of Penn State. Good pick here. Dolphins lost some key players, especially on defense. So just getting a guy that you know is going to impact the game. Very good pick by the Dolphins. With the 22nd pick, the Eagles select Quinion Mitchell, cornerback out of Toledo. Probably the best. Could be also in contention for defensive rookie of the year. Number one position ranking. Obviously he was the first one drafted from this position. So that makes sense. He had an overall rank of 10 and ended up getting drafted at 22. Good pick by the Eagles. With the 23rd pick, the Jacksonville Jaguars select Brian Thomas Jr., wide receiver out of LSU. Very good pick here. Could definitely have gone ahead of him, especially. But I wasn't really watching that many LSU games this year or this past year for football, so I'm not completely sure. But Jaguars definitely needed a wide receiver, so good pick. With the 24th pick, the Lions select corner Tarion Arnold out of Alabama. Good pick here. Position ranked second. Obviously he was the second one picked, so good by the Lions. He had an overall ranking of 11, which is surprising, especially since he got picked at 24. So good steal for the Lions. With the 25th pick, the Green Bay Packers select Jordan Morgan, offensive tackle out of Arizona. Protect Jordan Love. That's all I have to say for that. With the 26th pick, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers select Graham Barton, center out of Duke. A center in the first round is kind of wild, but obviously if you need a center, you need them. Snap the ball to the quarterback in protection. With the 27th pick, Arizona Cardinals select Darius Robinson, edge out of Missouri. Good pick by the Cardinals here. Super big guy, 6'5", 285. Good pick. With the 28th pick, Chiefs traded up and selected Xavier Worthy, wide receiver out of Texas. Yes, sir. Obviously, I do think that the better pick was honestly A.D. Mitchell, even though he didn't get picked until 52. There was no way people were doing mock drafts and he fell that far down. I still don't understand how that happened. But hey, still good pick here. Could be one of the, will be one of the fastest players in NFL history, especially with him breaking the 40-yard dash combine record with a 4-2-1. Next pick, 29th pick in the first round, Dallas Cowboys select Tyler Guyton, offense tackle out of Oklahoma. Good pick here by the Cowboys, Cowgirls. The 30th pick, the Baltimore Ravens select Nate Wiggins, cornerback out of Clemson. Even though he did have a position rank of 4, people say this is one of the steals of the draft. Even though he had an overall ranking of 25 according to ESPN, but he ran a 4-2-8 as a corner, so he could be doing some kick returns and punt returns for the Baltimore Ravens. And that is a very good pick for them. 31st overall pick in the NFL draft, the San Francisco 49ers select Ricky Purcell, wide receiver out of Florida. Good pick here. Obviously, if you've ever seen some crazy white boy out of Florida make a one-handed catch over three guys and they get slammed together, you've probably seen that highlight if you watch a lot of college football. So, that was him. And yeah, good pick by them. I did see something that C.J. Stroud really, really wanted him, but 49ers swooped him up. With the 32nd pick, last pick in the first round, Carolina Panthers select Xavier Leggett, wide receiver out of South Carolina. I would have also been fine if the Chiefs stayed and picked him at their spot if they didn't have to trade up. I would have been perfectly fine. He's 6'1", 221, but did run a sub 4'4", with a 4'3", 940-yard dash. He had his position rank at 5 of wide receivers with Xavier Worthy's position rank at 8. A lot of people think Chiefs kind of picked Xavier Worthy too high because he had an overall ranking of 34, but just wait. It won't be reach. Just wait. One more thing, obviously some K-State football players did get selected decently high in the draft, both in the second round. Cooper Beebe went to the Cowboys. It looked like their first two picks were O-line, so they'll have a really good O-line. I think Cooper Beebe could be one of the steals of the draft. I do think he could easily be a Hall of Fame guard in the NFL. Who's the other guard? Zach Martin. I see him being pretty much the next Zach Martin. I think he's that good. Two good pickups by the Dallas Cowboys there. Obviously there's no bias here when I say that Ben Sennett to the Commanders could be one of the steals of the draft. Good pick by the Commanders. The Commanders are building a good team there. So I'll definitely have to be tuning into some Washington Commanders games because I love me some Ben Sennett. No homo. I think that's it for the NFL draft. I have a quick update on K-State sports. Football-wise, Dylan Edwards, transfer from Colorado, has committed to Kansas State. Obviously if you're a Kansas State football fan, you definitely probably know the name, Dylan Edwards. He was a four-star running back out of Derby High School, which is actually the same school I went to. He actually originally committed to K-State, and then I'd say about a month later, he decommitted. He committed to Notre Dame, and then after a week or less, he decommitted. And then he committed to Colorado, which he played the whole year there. Obviously Colorado wasn't the best team going 4-8 in 2023, but in the first half of that season, Dylan Edwards was putting on a show. Let's look at his stats real quick. Rushing-wise, he has 76 carries for 321 yards and a touchdown. You have a good case to say he was better actually in the receiving game with 36 receptions with 299 yards and 4 touchdowns. He had a crazy game against TCU early in the season. I think that was the second game in the regular season for the Colorado Buffaloes. But yeah, super excited for Dylan Edwards to be coming to K-State. What a backfield with him and D.J. Giddens. I think best backfield in the Big 12 by a long shot. And we'll also have two of the fastest players in the Big 12, if not actually the two fastest. I can't remember exactly if not, but Dylan Edwards was one of the fastest. If not, he recorded the fastest run during the collegiate year last year for football. So that's crazy to think about. He officially committed to K-State as of April 28th, which is the day I'm recording on today, to play back with his childhood friend Avery Johnson. They both grew up in Wichita. Dylan Edwards went to Derby and then Avery Johnson went to Maze South. Basketball-wise for K-State's ports, very sad news. When I was writing my notes while recording my episode, I found out that Day Day Ames has just entered the transfer portal. Very sad to see him leave. He had great potential. People said he's going to be the next Jacob Poland at K-State. But some things just don't work out. K-State was just recruiting so many guards. Two of our four stars that we recruited from last year are gone. R.J. Jones decommitted about a month ago, or less, maybe a few weeks ago. And Day Day entered the transfer portal today. I see both of them not coming back. Another player that entered the transfer portal that honestly I could see possibly coming back is Jarrell Colbert. I would not be surprised. And then a player who entered the NBA draft was Arthur Columa. I do see. I don't see him going with...he's just not...I just don't see him NFL-ready. I mean, NBA-ready. He's just not... So him coming back for another year at K-State and we should make a run. But there is upside with Day Day Ames entering the transfer portal because I think that's just even more likelihood for Arkansas transfer Kalief Battle to commit. Obviously, K-State transferred...K-State started to recruit so many guards that both R.J. Jones and Day Day Ames decided to leave. I think we'll still have David Castillo, however you say it. But Kalief Battle will be easily our best player if he does commit, which will be great. Kalief Battle was played at Arkansas and he's 6'5", who is a senior, who also averaged 14.8 points per game. He also had a 42-point game with two other 30-plus point games this year. And with his last eight or ten games, he scored at least 22 points in his last eight games as an Arkansas Razorback, which is crazy to think about. K-State Basketball also had two other transfer commits this week. Yesterday, which was April 27th, another Arkansas transfer, Bay Fall, has committed to K-State, who is actually a former McDonald's All-American. He's a big guy with great upside. And then another guy who we got earlier this week, Brendan Howzen, sharpshooter from Villanova. He averaged 6.2 points per game on about 40% from three, with about only being played 14 minutes per game. That is it for Not Under The Helmet this year. I mean, this week. I'll bring you guys another podcast later next week. All y'all have a great day, a great night, and see ya!
