The host, Yoohyeon, discusses five popular festivals around the world. Coachella in California is known for its art installations and fashion styles. Glastonbury in the UK offers not just music, but also theater and visual art. Tomorrowland in Belgium is an EDM festival with extravagant stage designs. South by Southwest in Texas covers music, film, and interactive media. Roskilde in Denmark donates profits to charity and promotes a sense of community. Each festival offers unique experiences and vibrant culture. Yoohyeon recommends attending one if given the chance. Hey everyone, welcome to today's episode. I'm your host, Yoohyeon. Today we're diving into five of the most celebrated festivals around the world. Have any of you ever been to a festival? I recently attended the Tongan Music Festival in June and had a great time enjoying lots of music. I love immersing myself in cultural experiences like these. So today, I want to share some exciting festival insights with you so you too can enjoy and perhaps plan your next cultural adventure. First up, when we think of festivals, the first one that comes to mind has got to be Coachella, especially since it's been buzzing with K-pop artists lately, making waves even in Korea. This festival takes place every April in Indio, California. One of the most striking features of Coachella is its grand art installations and the unique fashion styles of its attendees. If you check out vlogs from various YouTubers attending Coachella, you'll see the elaborate makeup and fashionable outfits they showcase daily. Another highlight is that attendees camp out during the festival, soaking in the music and atmosphere. Global superstars like Beyonce, Radiohead, and Ariana Grande, along with K-pop idol groups like Blackpink, Lisa FM, and ATEEZ have graced the Coachella stage, making it a truly international event. Next, let's talk about the Glastonbury Festival. Held every late June in Pilton, Summerest, UK, this festival boasts a rich history and tradition. With around 300,000 attendees, it's one of the largest festivals out there. What sets Glastonbury apart is its variety, not just music, but also theatre, circus, and various visual art programs. It's also known for being environmentally friendly, promoting recycling and green energy. With so many people, they really focus on handling waste and pollution. Legendary artists like Coldplay, Beyonce, and Jay-Z have performed here, and I'd love to check it out myself someday. Third on our list is Tomlinland in Boom, Belgium, held every July. To be honest, this is the most exciting festival that I want to share with you guys, because unlike the previous two festivals, Tomlinland is the world's top EDM festival, featuring renowned DJs and producers. Much like Coachella, Tomlinland is known for its extravagant stage designs. Each year, they create a unique theme and stunning visual effects to enhance the magical atmosphere and community spirit. With music fans from all over the world, it's a melting pot of cultures and languages. So if you're into EDM, this is the place to be. It's the perfect place for meeting new people and getting lost in the music. Fourth, we have South by Southwest in Austin, Texas, held every March. This festival is a bit different, as it covers a wide range of arts, including music, film, and interactive media. It's a fantastic platform for emerging artists and indie bands to get noticed, making it a great place to discover new music trends. The unique aspect of this festival is its industry-focused seminars and workshops, so it can have a big impact on the music industry. Plus, the festival takes place all over the city, giving you a chance to explore Austin and, at the same time, soaking in a variety of experiences. I really recommend this one to music fans that also like traveling because, like I said, if they joined, they'll get to enjoy music and also kind of be able to tour Austin. For me, I'm a huge music fan and also I like traveling, so I definitely love to go sometime. I hate to say this, but let's jump into our last part, the Roskilde Festival in Denmark, held in early July. The standout feature of this festival is that all profits are donated to charity or social projects. About 30,000 volunteers help run the festival, fostering a strong sense of community. It's a place where you can enjoy diverse music and a free-spirited atmosphere while contributing to a good cause. Great music and making a positive impact sounds like a perfect combo to me. So, there you have it. These are some of the most incredible festivals around the world, each with its own unique charm. From eco-friendly initiatives to charitable contributions, these festivals offer more than just music. They provide unforgettable experiences. Have any of these festivals caught your mind? If you ever get a chance, I highly recommend attending one and immersing yourself in the vibrant culture and music. Thanks for tuning in today and see you next time!
