Axel Hohemann talks about the song "California Girls" by Katy Perry and Snoop Dogg. He loves the song because it reminds him of his summer vacation in California with his family. They went to various cities including Los Angeles, Malibu, and Las Vegas. They even attended a Katy Perry concert in Las Vegas. Axel enjoys singing the song in the car with his family. He talks about Katy Perry and Snoop Dogg's careers and other popular songs they have released. The song is about the California lifestyle and was inspired by Jay-Z and Alicia Key's "Empire State of Mind." The music video was shot in Candyfornia and features Katy Perry and Snoop Dogg. Axel thinks it's a great song that brings back memories of summer. Hello, my name is Axel Hohemann and I'm in class 5G and I'm going to talk about a song that became special to me this summer. The song I choose is California Girls by Katy Perry and Snoop Dogg. When I heard this song, I immediately got happy and my thoughts go back to this summer. This summer I went on a city trip to California with my family, my father, mother and my brother. We went to Los Angeles, Malibu, Las Vegas, Santa Barbara and other cities. When we were in Las Vegas, we went to a performance from Katy Perry, which was a great experience. I have very good memories from this vacation, that's why I love listening to this song. When we were in the car to drive to other cities, this song was always on in the car and of course, we sang this song with as much energy as possible. This was really family time for us, which I personally love. This is not the first time that I have heard of this song, because before it was one of my favorite songs, which makes it even more fun. Katy Perry is a very famous American singer, actress and guitarist. In her career, she has already released a number of hits. Think about I Kissed a Girl, California Girls, Dark Horrors and many more. She already has several tours behind her. As I said, I went to see a concert of hers this summer. This was one of the most fun and beautiful concerts I had seen in my entire life. Of course, she sang California Girls, which me and my brother absolutely love. The other artist from California Girls is Snoop Dogg. Also known as Doggfather, Snoop Lion and Snoopzilla. He is an American rapper, singer and actor. He has also written some hits, for example Young Wild and Free, Drop It Like It's Hot and Sexual Eruption. This song is really sing-along. Almost all teenagers can sing this song, which makes it so much fun. Katy Perry and Snoop Dogg are from California themselves. When Perry heard Empire Stays of Mine by Jay-Z and Alicia Key, she became inspired to write an ode to California. This is how California Girls was born. They based the song on the real life in California, from palm trees to beautifully tanned skin. The artist didn't make a type mistake. She wanted to give an ode to her managers. Instead of Girls with an I, she made Girls with a U. They purposely chose not to make the music video in California itself. They found that the song itself already gave a good picture about California. That's why it was shot in Candyfornia, a land of trees set on a ghost board, where Snoop Dogg, King Sugar Daddy plays and Perry plays a game character. The story involves that Snoop Dogg holds women prisoner and Katy comes to free them. Sugar Daddy is constantly trying to block Katy's way through Candyland. When all the women are free, they all dance together with Katy on the beach of Candyfornia. Now I will play a piece of the song. When you hear the song, I find that it brings you back to the summer. I think it's a very nice song. Hopefully you think so too. Thank you for watching!
