Preserving identity as an immigrant can be challenging. Two guest speakers, Andrew and Audrey, share their experiences. Andrew helped West African immigrants integrate into the US. Audrey is from Colorado. They aim to inspire ideas on preserving immigrant identity. Preserving identity in a new culture can be challenging. I have two guest speakers today who will share experiences that have informed them of how preserving identity can be challenging as an immigrant. I'd like to introduce them both. Hi, Andrew. Hi. Would you mind introducing yourself? Of course. I'm Andrew Carlton. Great. Are you an immigrant yourself, or have you had experiences with immigrants? Right. So I'm originally from Utah, born and raised, nothing too special, but I lived in the Washington, D.C., Maryland area for a little bit of time, and I saw a lot of West African immigrants, and I often got to help them kind of integrate into the United States. So I'm excited to share those experiences today. I'm excited as well. Hi, Audrey. Hi. How are you doing? So good. Thanks for joining us today. Of course. My name is Audrey Sandell, and I am from Colorado. Well, nice to meet you, and I'm excited to hear about your experiences. We should have an interesting discussion today about immigration, and I would like to disclaim before we get started that one of our main objectives in this discussion is to inspire ideas in me and you for how we might preserve immigrant identity.
