And I use that term very loosely as we are all growing and learning as we move through life. We are your hosts, and in today's show we're going to continue to try and bring a little clarity to what it means to be motivated, how you can find motivation in everyday life, and the benefits of having your own personal motivator that's significant to you. Actually today we have a bit of a special episode planned for you guys. Today we have planned to invite a special guest to bring a new perspective onto the podcast and share some of their own personal stories with us. Yes, exactly. It's always great to have a fresh voice on the podcast every once in a while, even though we know how much you love us. We think that you will love our guests just as much. But before we start, let's define what it means to be motivated. To be motivated means you have some kind of personal reason for behaving a certain way. More common than not, this behavior is productive and progressive. Let's welcome our guest to the podcast. Drum roll, please. Hello guys. It's so great to be able to speak to you guys like this. I have been listening to the show for such a long time and I really enjoy it. Hello, it's so great to have you here. Honestly, let's just cut straight to the point. Yo. Hello, it's so great to have you here. Honestly, let's just cut straight to the chase. Your story is truly inspiring to us and we would like to hear more about it to get the ball rolling. Of course. So recently my close friend of four years moved away. We've been inseparable since the day that we met and I've recently realized that I rely on this person for motivation. I just don't know where to turn or who to turn to and I don't know what to do. We sympathize with you, but I think this really demonstrates how important it is to have a personal motivator. Yeah, personal motivators just make life better. It's true, there are so many direct effects to having a personal motivator. Increased productivity, developing good habits, and higher achievements. And just like good motivation can affect you positively, bad motivation or the lack of can affect you negatively. Yeah, I actually rely on him more than I realized and I know it's going to be hard to replace that. Well, how did your friend motivate you? My friend was always a person in my life that was positive and encouraging, from helping me with homework when I didn't understand it to simply just being a person that I could look up to. He was the type of person that never hesitated to get up in the morning and try his best. Wow, they sound like an amazing friend. Some advice we can give you is to try and develop some techniques to help you through your day to day without the outside motivation of your friend. Creating small goals like focusing on finishing one assignment at a time and rewarding yourself when you finish that assignment can be a good way to boost your interest in doing your work. While I'm thinking about this, a couple months ago I would have trouble waking up to my alarm on time. This news button was just too tempting and it would end up making me late to work. But what I noticed that helped me wake up more quickly was setting my alarm to a song I really liked or something I thought was really funny. Also picking out a really nice outfit you really enjoyed the night before can really help you feel good about yourself and in result your day. So what are you going to do when you wake up in the morning? I'm going to wake up to a song that I like and put on a nice outfit. And what are you going to do to motivate yourself to finish your homework? I'm going to set small rewards and make small goals for myself. Yes, exactly. That sounds perfect. Absolutely.
