A Brady List is a record kept by prosecutors that identifies police officers whose credibility has been officially questioned due to misconduct. Why does this matter? Because of the court ruling Brady v. Maryland (1963), prosecutors are legally required to disclose evidence that could affect a trial. That includes information that could show a witness — even a police officer — may not be reliable.
