Good morning, class. Our scripture reading today will be taken from Proverbs, Chapter 22, verses 24 through to 25. And we're reading from the New Living Translation. It reads thus, Do not make friends with a hot-tempered person. Do not associate with one easily angered, or you may learn their ways and get yourself ensnared. It is very clear from the scripture that we have just read that friendships can have a positive or negative influence on us. We also learn that having a bad temper can spread from one person to another, just like a contagious disease. So it is important to choose our friends wisely. Let us pray. Dear Lord, give us wisdom to choose our friends wisely. Help us to be wise and vigilant about the people we allow into our life, as the decisions we make can greatly affect our well-being. Please protect us from people who are of bad influences, who stir up conflict, and who are easily angered. Keep us from all harm, evil, and the plans of the enemy. In Jesus' name we pray. Amen.
