It's a chilly and surprisingly sunny day here at the Windy City. Compared to yesterday or the day before, today can actually be considered a quote-unquote nice day. Well, here we are at Lincoln Park Zoo observing our unique and special family of gorillas. This family of gorillas consists of five very special gorillas. The name of these gorillas are Kwan, Bana, Dejik, and two unknown named gorillas. After an hour of observing these gorillas, I will return to you all and share my observations. In the hour I observed these gorillas, it was clear to me that I caught them in their day off. All the gorillas except for Dejik and his sibling were sleeping. Even these two little gorillas were sleeping at some point. For that reason, I have concluded that explaining my observations in a very direct way would be very repetitive and boring for me and for everyone listening. I mean, how can you make a gorilla sleeping for an hour sound interesting? For that reason, I took some creative liberties and made a small story out of my observations. Keep in mind that I am a scientist and not an author, so I tried my best. The main character in this story is Dejik. My choice of making this character of Dejik is due to Dejik being the most active out of the three gorillas. My short story puts light on the sad truth of zoo animals. Most zoo animals live their entire life caged. Without any further ado, here is my short story.
