Nothing to say, yet
The speaker starts by discussing a verse from the Bible about working for God and not human masters. They then talk about the importance of fulfilling God's calling and using the gifts and blessings He has given. They mention the story of Solomon and how he initially followed God's calling but later became greedy and turned away from Him. The speaker emphasizes the need to stay focused on God and His calling, and to not block His blessings. They encourage listeners to be obedient to God, no matter their position or role in life. The speaker also talks about how sharing one's blessings and experiences with God can have a ripple effect on others, leading them to seek God as well. They urge listeners to read 1 Kings in the Bible for more insight on the consequences of not following God's calling. The speaker concludes by encouraging listeners to continue spreading God's word and listening to His calling in their lives. Don't give up on me I know I'm not your best bet Cause I'm trying, so don't give up on me Because without you none of this would be possible And I pray all of this in Jesus name, Amen Hey there it's Anna with God's Podcast And today I want to start in Colossians 3 verse 23 And in this verse it says whatever you do work at it with all your heart As working for the Lord not for human masters This is the NIV version and I bring this up because this is what I want to talk about today This is what I want to bring up because this is where I want you to look back at your life And look forward to your life And think about the things that you've done in the past and what you're planning to do I want to give you a new hope, a new perspective, a new outlook At maybe changing the way that you live your life That you once lived for human masters rather than God And why I have titled this podcast What are you doing with what God gave you? So my questions for you this podcast are Do you know God has a calling for each of us, a plan, a purpose? And I ask you what are you doing with these gifts, these blessings, this calling in your life? I'm in a study of 1 Kings in the Bible And I've decided to read this again because I wanted to see the perspective And see if my perspective of this story has changed And let me tell you, it has changed dramatically I'm sure you've all heard about this story of Solomon or have read it for yourself But I want to give you a new perspective that I learned this time around I used to think, wow, this guy is so amazing He's so honorable To not ask for the things that are physical in this world But to ask for wisdom, to ask for understanding, to be able to lead He's a man of God and has all the attributes of a godly servant And that is true in the beginning And reading this where I am today in my relationship with the Lord It is a whole other take on Solomon A new understanding of how you can ask for these things And be blessed and do God's work and be good But you are human and you can fall and you can fail And you can lose what God has given you by listening to others Listening to those around you And allowing their ability to affect who you were meant to be Who God has made you to be God did gift him But what he did do with it was not to glorify God in the end In the beginning, yes, he glorified God and brought people to him But in the end of his life, he became greedy He became power induced He wanted the power He wanted to be in charge and to have everybody worship him He married 700 wives Who then turned him away from God And in the end of his life, all he had were the earthly desires The money, the power, the land, the families, etc. But he did not have his focus on God He turned away from the one true God And the promise God gives us eternal life And I don't want you to lose that focus I don't want you to lose the focus that God has a calling on your life And you need to continue to be in prayer You need to be continuing a relationship with him Continuing asking for guidance That is how we are going to survive And get through our time here on earth By being obedient to God and the calling that he has on our life Just like it states in Colossians 3.23 Which can be an example for you Look, we can't take anything with us when we die All the earthly desires we once had are gone And then what are you left with? Solomon did have a calling And he partially fulfilled that calling And it was to bring others to God And he did do that at first But he had forgotten about what God gave him He forgot about God and what God blessed him with He missed God's calling on his life So I want to remind you what Colossians 3.23 says Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart As working for the Lord, not human masters You can't take anything with you when you die All our earthly desires we once had are gone And what are we left with then? So I ask you, are you missing God's calling? Are you blocking God's blessings? Some of you may think, I don't know what God's calling is on my life I am going to let you in on a little secret Each of us, yes, each of us have a calling Some may be big Some may even seem small But all are equal to God our Father No matter where you are in life You could be a preacher, a teacher, a CEO A mother, a father, a wife A husband, a factory worker It does not matter The calling we each have is to do the works of God No matter where we may be in life Colossians 3.23 says this And so do many other verses in the Bible You do the work for God and not mankind You thank Him, you glorify Him in all you do And not yourself You can touch so many by following God's calling For you in ways you may not even imagine You may ask, why is this important? The Bible specifically says this in many verses Stating the works you do here on earth is all for God No matter how unimportant you may think your job may be God's calling on your life could change the world I know what you're thinking Yeah, okay, Anna Are you nuts? You must be insane You're living in an unrealistic world, girl No, I am not Let me simply break this down in a way that can make sense If you love God Are growing your relationship with God Studying His Word And trying to live a life in Christ Others will see God's light shine through you So I'm going to give you a couple examples Say you work in blah blah blah blah blah It doesn't matter, you can fill in the blank And you're starting to share how God blessed you with this job How God continues to guide you in this job How God has promoted you in this job And how He too can do it for the one you are sharing this message of praise for God And what He has done in your life That little seed you plant then begins to grow And give your co-worker hope that He too wants this new way of thinking This new hope, this new peace, this new light from God He starts turning to God where He once didn't But counted on Himself rather than the Lord He starts praying, He starts seeking God He starts seeking His Word And turns to God now because you shared what God has done with you And He now wants that And then in turn, that co-worker starts sharing His blessings His callings with someone else And so on, creating a ripple effect You started that tiny ripple because of what God has done for you How He has loved you and blessed you And listen to the calling God gave you God's calling on your life is not just necessarily the position you hold But what you are doing with it and that position Are you being a disciple? Are you being a child of God in the process of your success? Your success is not from you but from God Who has given you the ability to be successful Stop blocking your calling and the blessing God has for you By thinking it is you He is a loving God who wants to shower you with His love Are you going to be a Solomon? Or are you going to be a true follower of Christ till the end? And do God's work and not your own And follow the one true God The Maker of Heaven and Earth The King of Kings Don't be a Solomon and block the calling on your life And turn away from God But follow Him and bring His people home with you I highly recommend reading 1 Kings As it goes through a history of kings Their deeds and their downfalls It is a road map of all the things not to do in this life If you don't want to glorify God or live for His promise It shows us over and over the effects Satan has on our world But we don't have to give in to Satan God can get us through anything If we continue to have faith and continue to follow God And His calling for our lives In Colossians 3 He explains this In all the ways we can fulfill this calling He had given to us By doing all things through Him In Him and for Him and not ourselves If we surrender our lives to Him And submit not of our own way You will be reborn, renewed in Him A veil will be lifted off your eyes And you will have a new peace Not of this world Or that this world could even give you So receive your calling from God And see how He is working in your life I can give you many verses in the Bible Regarding doing God's work And I will list them below for you God calls upon us, each one of us But it's up to us what we will be doing with His calling Are you going to answer Him?
