Testosterone increases lean muscle mass and strength, as observed in multiple studies. Experimental groups receiving testosterone gained more muscle mass than placebo groups. However, further research is needed to understand the impact of testosterone supplementation on mental health and the long-term effects of injecting testosterone. Results from each study we looked at showed that testosterone increased lean muscle mass, which in turn increased strength. For each study, the experimental group, the group that received the testosterone, gained more lean muscle mass than the placebo group that received no testosterone. Although these studies provided us with great results and evidence of testosterone increasing lean muscle mass, future research should be conducted. Future research could look at how testosterone supplementation affects mental health. Another study could look at the longer-term effects of injecting testosterone.
