Back in the day, TV shows with violence were allowed without restrictions, causing a debate about how it could impact children. Bandura's Bobo Doll experiment was conducted to see if exposure to violence affected kids' aggressive behavior. Back then, there weren't many content regulations for TV, so a lot of shows, including violent ones, were aired without any restrictions. This lack of guidelines sparked a national debate about the potential effects of televised violence on children's behaviours. It was within this context that Bandura's Bobo Doll experiment emerged. This experiment aimed to investigate how exposure to violence could affect the development of aggressive behaviours in kids.
