Two high school students, Joe and Ian, have started a podcast called the Cross Hudson Grudge Cast where they discuss hockey. They talk about the current standings in the NHL, with the Vegas Golden Knights and New York Rangers leading their respective divisions. They also discuss underperforming teams like the San Jose Sharks, Edmonton Oilers, Chicago Blackhawks, and Ottawa Senators. They mention notable milestones, such as three players reaching 1,000 points. Overall, the podcast is a discussion about the NHL, rumors, and the impact on the league. Hello everyone and welcome to the first edition of the Cross Hudson Grudge Cast. I'm Joe Stacilli and I'm a diehard Rangers fan and the real reason I really wanted to start this podcast with my good friend Ian Rookin is you know just give him hell about how the Rangers just been dominating the Devils this entire season. Yeah. Hello I'm Ian Rookin and a big Devils fan. It's been a tough year so far and yeah so this podcast is really about the two high school students very diehard into hockey and we love the sport and everything we play it both teammates and we're going to talk about the NHL the rumors that's going on and how it's impacting the league. So take it away Joe for the beginning of the segment today. Alright so first off we're gonna start off with our current standings just total team performance. So first let's just let's just dive into just like the league in general you know Stanley Cup champions Vegas Golden Knights you know off to a hot start. They're first in the league they're looking to defend their title. I mean Rookin what do you think they've done just like so well so far to be in the position just to defend that title again? I mean I constantly say that this team is just their team on paper is not the best but how they play is they set up with their new coach by getting Bruce Cassidy in having from the Bruins the prior experience of him winning the cup. He came in made a franchise different made the franchise the same but realigned in the sense of that we're now we think we're in a competitive spot. They had a great golden ten last year with Ian Hill. He emerged as just like a playoff hero you know really stepped up when the Knights needed him to. I totally agree with that and you know and you have Logan Thompson returning from his surgery and you know Logan Thompson just had like that Logan Thompson-Ian Hill combo they're just really they're just really really surprising me this year how they can how they just both have a two-star goal is just go out there win games be consistent. You know along with my New York Rangers you know second in the league. I think going to the season personally I mean this is this is not Rangers fan bias but I mean they're kind of a shocker. I mean I was expecting the Rangers to be top in the Metro but not to this extent. I mean the Rangers are first in the Metro with 39 points you know followed by the Islanders which I mean they're also surprising. I mean the Rangers they were they were looking like pretty weak into the season. You know obviously some skepticism with firing Gerard Gallant and bringing in Peter Laviolette. I mean Laviolette just did a great job with the reestablishing new systems. I mean the Rangers just look stronger, faster, better on the ice and yeah I mean but I'm also an underwhelming start for of course your New Jersey Devils like you mentioned before. I mean the biggest concern is a goal tending. I mean we'll go into a little bit later about like some potential jury rumors are going on with the Devils right now. I mean it's pretty hot but yeah just being a Devils fan like how can you assess their performance so far? I mean so far they're they're coming back from what they've been doing. They're solid. They're solid so far with a 31 points. It's like it's not what I want them to be at but 27 games 31 points. They started off the season a bit slow above 500 which I love. So they're 15 11 and 1 like you can't get any better than a winning record. I prefer that than what's going on with the rest of the team. So we're gonna dive into about what's going on with the bottom of the league and how they need to improve. All right so obviously let's just take a take the Devils out of the room. I mean San Jose Sharks they're just they're absolutely they're just absolutely atrocious this year. It's just very embarrassing you know just to watch you know just as like if you're a San Jose Sharks fan just generally feel bad. I mean their goal differential their goal allowed their goal allowed differential just it's just not matching up good and I mean you gave away your entire core just like a few years ago for like practically nothing. So I mean the Sharks are just down bad right now and I really don't know how they'll fix it because I mean they do have high picks but obviously you got to build around talent with those high picks. I mean the cap room along the Sharks is also not great because I mean yeah you still have to pay these players that you've traded away during the deadline. So it's it's just really frustrating right now if you're a Sharks fan. Just be really hard to rebuild and also just another underwhelming team right now. I mean the Edmonton Oilers I mean they are coming back a little bit. I mean those early season struggles really caught up to them. I mean they fired their head coach and stuff but it's just I mean it's honestly just really tough. These the Oilers they had high expectations going to the season potential cup run. I mean they're pretty close last year but obviously we're met by Aiden Hill Stonewall with the goal of nights. But yeah I mean just as Edmonton fans like you got McDavey, you got Dreisaitl, you got yeah a lot of great talent on that team and you know you're just you're in the 20 you're in the 23rd in the league and I mean it's just I don't know what they ought to do to fix that. I mean I think the head coach firing was definitely a good move but I mean you also just got to build on that goal-telling too. I mean like Stuart Skinner is okay. I want to see how he'll develop through the rest of the season but right now he's just not looking like that like that franchise guy they sent him out to be. Do you have any takes about some underwhelming teams as well Rukin? Yeah so one thing I want to talk to you about is the Blackhawks right now. They got Bedard. I mean they're on the tanking spectrum. They're on the right track. They weren't gonna make any big moves this year but I mean. They brought in Taylor Hall. Taylor Hall good guy. He's good leadership, good mentorship to Bedard too. I mean should we even talk about Corey Perry without what's been going on but we'll talk about him later and then just the Blackhawks need to be. I think I where their at right now is don't think it's where they want to be at with being a 19-point team with 29 games played. Like it's just not it's not ideal but obviously they were not looking to win the Cup this year. They're looking to be a wild-card clincher with Getham Bedard but Bedard's rookie of the month in October. Tremendous player. Yeah I mean as you were saying I mean the Blackhawks weren't gonna make any moves. We all knew that going into the season. Potentially again they're a high first-round draft pick but I mean they're just they're gonna build around Bedard. I mean like you said Bedard October player of the month, rookie of the month. He looks great. You know he's he's looking like he's been playing in the league for like generally five years better than any other range of draft picks gotta say. Capocacco. Yeah Capocacco. Yeah I think I'm generally kind of happy that he's injured right now. I mean Johnny Brzezinski looked great for the Rangers. Johnny Brzezinski. Yeah I mean the Blackhawks and you just gotta build around Conor Bedard. Like we said I mean the Blackhawks definitely do have a bright future. You got your future star. You just gotta build around him and hopefully he can stay. I mean he will definitely get paid when the time comes to renew his rookie contract. Alright so just to balance that point with the Senators. I like the I-thing against the Senators. The Senators have been a spot last year. Played tremendous. They had a crazy scenario to make the playoffs. Obviously it didn't work out and I mean look at this. Senators have Kachuk who's unbelievable. Kachuk's unbelievable. Great leader on off the ice. And just the problem with the I-thing with the Senators is their point production. They're not able to get those key wins when they need it. Like I remember last year when they played the Devils and they needed to win it. It came out slow. They lost 2-0 the first and this year they haven't played them yet. I view this the Senators as a team that needs to step it up if they need to be a playoff team. Yeah I mean yeah the Senators definitely pretty inconsistent I must say. Onward is just. I always got the talent. I think you know honestly some underrated moves that they made over the offseason. I mean you got a solid goaltender in Junos Korpisalo and you also got a big name Vladimir Tarasenko and X-Ranger. Yes X-Ranger by Tarasenko. Let's talk about the notable milestones and achievements. So recently we just discovered 3 Astros reached 1,000 points around against the Islanders. This point we're first around pick team. Look at Taras. Perfect. He's in perfect shape where he's at. Taras is. He does what he needs to do. Gets the big goals. Gets the points. Is a good 60 plus points leader and he's just. He's a big key factor for the Leafs. Congratulations to John Tavares. 1,000 points. At 33. At 33 I mean putting up the points that he's been putting up. I mean I know he's on a line with Matthews and Nylander but yeah just Tavares is. Tavares just wraps up those assists. He does what he's asked for from his coach. He's a grinder. At his age. He's 33 years old. He's not like the superstar he once was a few years ago but you know he just grinds. He's very physical. He has one of the more underrated shots in this league. He's got an excellent shot. Great release. I mean I was actually in person when I watched the Maple Leafs just beat the most recently beat the Leafs. Oh 7-4? Yeah. Was it 8-4 or 7-4? I think it was like 7-3. I watched the recap. It was like yeah I mean the Tavares you know he racked up a nice assist against the Rangers but he also had six shots on goal. All those were great quality shots. Like he forces rebounds. I mean I believe the assist he had was off a nice shot pass off head off of Shesturkin and you know he's he's great. Another thing to highlight right now some milestones about that are NHL leaders right now. Who would expect this coming off his ACL surgery Nikita Kucherov. Kucherov when he's healthy he is one of the most dangerous players on this ice in the entire league. I mean he's an age gap too. He's tremendous you know 50 points. I believe like it has to be like 26 games in the season like having that point production just really really impressive and I mean let's move on to like our goaltenders now. I mean let's touch upon that Joe with the points. Look you got McDavid 40 points. Team Fox didn't start off well. Things need to improve but well look I'll go to my devil's bias Jack Hughes. He's look at him he's just came off an injury. He has 13 points. He's 34 points in 22 games played. That's tremendous and you go to shoot in your Rangers Joe. Panarin has 27 games played 39 points. I don't know if it was a I think the hair cutting off of the hair works. I mean yeah it was it was definitely a shocker to see that over the offseason but I mean Panarin Panarin's been awesome. He's been he's been the Rangers rock definitely kept him kept him in the games because I mean the goaltending which is Shesturkin's just been a little consistent but you know like I said before we're moving on to the goaltenders. Number one who would have who would have expected this you know I thought Aiden Hill would just go back to the minor leagues you know or potentially just be the backup for the Knights but no he got promoted to starter. He's I don't know if he's going to be back to a role player but he's been excellent. 1.87 goal allowed percentage and he has a 93 save percentage which is just just magnificent for Aiden Hill and he's a journeyman and now just like being in his prime at the age he is like 32 I believe Aiden Hill Aiden Hill is just magnificent you know he's playing playing great you know and and then to add on to that Aiden Hill I hate bringing this up but last year I was in this room where I was I'm recording the podcast it was about 1245 a.m. Friday night Devils Knights Devils put up I it was insane amount of shots by my Aiden Hill it was just unbelievable Aiden Hill was somewhere in the 50s maybe I was it was somewhere I can't believe it when he was going through Aiden Hill to pull out that W was I it was it was tremendous yeah right now Vegas beat the Devils in the shootout and Aiden Hill he had 47 saves on 50 shots for an accumulated save percentage and 94% which is just it's just magnificent you know with the with this Devils game that was going at that time Devils were hot you got you got Mercer that was on a historic point streak and then Mercer had 10 shots that game 20% of shots for the Devils but that's what I like last year but Aiden Hill just the Devils couldn't beat him the Devils willing to shoot in the pocket overtime I was like what are you guys doing here shoot the puck I gotta go in they were shooting what do you got fill out here so we're to step aside and take a quick break oh well we're back and North let's discuss what's going on with these injuries injuries have been a significant part of the NFL and NHL this year it's insane obviously I'm going on to the NFL too much but you got Rodgers which will have an NFL statement sometime later in the year but let's go to the NHL first we gotta talk about Mac we first got to a McAvoy top defense running this Buffalo team a Boston team he's a Norse trophy candidate last year he got upper body injury it's all good healing the process it's a 15 so he's supposed to be back by the 16th just something we talk about McAvoy being out how that could affect the Boston sometimes managed to come back on the 16th well McAvoy is obviously the rock for the Boston Bruins and on the defensive zone I mean McAvoy Norse like I said before Norse trophy candidate and you know he was a hundred point score last season I believe McAvoy's McAvoy's just unbelievable you know and I was just honestly just a big blow for the Bruins because I mean they've been giving up a lot more shots than they have with McAvoy out and I mean we need to sell mark you know he's an all-around player he came up big for him he's all he's all-around player he could he play offense he can play lockdown defense which which just makes Charlie McAvoy just like that great versatile player so moving on to another injury Rukin would you like to say something? sure so we got Ziggurus here Ziggurus got hurt a few days ago maybe a week ago updated today out till about Christmas my guess he's gonna take the Christmas break off give him a two-day break but this is big lower body injury so he's actually still in power with his legs not good for Ziggurus he's very versatile player it's just an awful hurt for him and you also got Jamie Drysdale great pick in the first round they got a couple years ago back updated it on Wednesday he's out till Christmas these are big defenseman's both lower but a good offensive lower body and like just it's tough for this Anaheim team yeah because I mean like I said before like I mean I'm pretty sure you saw it the Ducks were off to an amazing start to begin off this year and I think ever since Ziggurus going down McTavish another person to bring up Mason McTavish another first round pick he was Ziggurus' right-hand man last year they're in their last 11 games did my the Anaheim Ducks are 1 in 10 which is which is just horrible yeah so you got Jacob Borchek here Jacob Borchek I it's hilarious talking about him because come from the Flyers tremendous goes to the Blue Jackets age downfall and look at now transit Arizona because of his injury to get him off the the cap and out for the season yeah for concussion I'm gonna say I'll see multiple but Borchek like you got also Nick Schmoltz on the Arizona list say today you got Shea Weber that's different Shea Weber has been traded to for cap space but Joe Weber I mean yeah Weber is the leader a few years ago for that Canadiens team that made that cup run but I mean I didn't do an injury thinking he might unfortunately be forced forced to retire but moving on now let's look at oh Andrej Svechnikov just popped up so yeah obviously Svech he's part in that Carolina Hurricanes offense out last year in the playoffs yeah yeah yeah he heard his ACL last year and you know I upper body and I was back on here with upper body and I think it's just just a tough loss because I mean you saw it last year in the playoffs the Canes they had that hole they have like a hole in their offense watch fetch you know he's he's he and that he's he's he in that penalty kill he's key in that power play he's just a great player great great shape you know I mean a few years ago he uh he trademarked our one of the first Michigan in gold in game of Michigan goals so yeah obviously he's a star. I think he's just killer to lose a stretch so yeah any other any other noble injuries? Noble injury I want to discuss my boy Taylor Hall devil tremendous play on the Devils great overall loves to carry that puck and take a great shot look at him here got traded around bounced around to Arizona with my boy Kevin Ball now bounced around the league now he's on the Chicago Blackhawks look at him in a line with Bedard to get his get a nice 60 points week and then look at him yeah I mean like he was supposed to be like that mentor to Bedard but you know it's just it's just horrible to see that uh that he went down with a knee injury yeah now he's out for the year I mean I think I think Bedard just still won't change his name well Bedard's Bedard yeah so but yeah Taylor Hall just definitely a big blow for the for the Blackhawks offensively and he was one of their top producers along with Bedard and and Seth Jones so yeah it's not it's not not too great losing Taylor Hall for that Blackhawks offense and now moving on unfortunately your boy Dougie Hamilton he's he's out for the year it's just really tough to see him see him go to a sedentary surgery I mean Dougie key part for that Devils for the unexpected Devils run last year and oh no let me talk about Dougie my boy Dougie Dougie I he's been having injuries we had a jaw injury I think both years with Devils he's key part of this stretch did some record stuff last year now he's expected to potentially miss the whole year he tore something to the left pectoral and they'll be out potentially for the year but he's listed out till at least February 15th not gonna happen then let's talk about Thomas Nosek the boy Chuba Devils Rangers game I was there doing some reporting yeah yeah how'd that end Rueken I just want to know how'd that end so I was sitting about 17 rows back I was sitting about 17 rows back you just saw Chuba, Chuba knew, Chuba had his mind he's gotta go lay this kid out so that Nosek was at an escape tough position I play hockey I should know how it feels and Chuba just goes right through him smacks him right through the middle got one comment for uh Thomas Nosek stay off the tracks bud he was just going right into it um I thought he hurt his head but it's listed he hurt his foot not bad but throughout that segment you got your boys Boo, Hito, and Kapo Kako all right obviously some tough blow with a losing Philippe Hito I mean Kapo Kako I mean like Rueken said over here we gave the Rangers gave Kapo many chances you know produced on the top line you know be out there with the big guys but also give them a two-year contract extension but I mean honestly it's a fortune to say it's even I had high hopes of the young Rangers fan back in 2019 while getting Kapo and you know it's just he's not he wasn't paying out to be where he was on paper and he's unfortunate I think Boston I think I think it's gonna be really hard just to turn around and also Hito you know Hito's gonna be out for a while I mean he originally was with a day-to-day and he's keeping getting pushed back way more you know it's way more serious than uh and it was on paper to be so I mean I think Hito, the loss of Hito is very tough because that Rangers third line it's just just been tough you know again Nick Bonino constantly playing night and night and I it's just really tough to see to see the third line you know not producing and being in the negatives in the score sheets all right so now I'm moving on to our next segment we have our Calder race so right now Connor Bedard currently leading our Calder race in like adding on with Bedard like what what do you think makes him different than all the rest of these rookies I mean this has been some of the most talented rookie class that we've seen in a while I mean you see Logan Cooley you got what's the Keanu Ducks name blanking on him sorry guys well we'll set aside here we'll take a break okay we're back um we got some interesting things to state here Bedard 24 points 29 games got some awards Bedard he's on the ice almost 20 minutes at his age it's just insane he has 89 shots so far doesn't mean anything but 89 shots he has the puck and a stick shooting the puck when he gets it got a great goal in the Connor vs. Connor game and then you got Marco Rossi seven points back with two less games at 17 points Marco Rossi is just really underrated you know he was picked low in the first round I mean honestly he got some uh yeah like many big names you know just wrapped ahead I'm like I'm a Michigan for most you guys you don't know I'm a Michigan fan here and yeah I mean you have Luke Hughes Adam Fantilli they've been they've been on the top of the charts too but also a big surprise going to season Leo Carlson's really stepped up for the Ducks I mean in the absence of Bedard Drysdale McTavish Leo Carlson's really taking a step he's got a lot of goals and that just being in the right place at the right time equals six assists and just really liking what we see from this rookie class there's a lot of hits and just very very few misses um something to touch on about we got Luke Hughes my boy Luke Hughes Hughes brothers all three in the league congrats to the parents Jim and Ellen we got to try out the Jim and Ellen Hughes four goals 1260 60 points exactly what they need with the absence of Dougie Hamilton for him to begin this assist best defenseman in stats wise arguably the best of rookie defenseman right now that's rookie defenseman best rookie to play role of guys looking at etc okay um also overseen here is once you have a dart they're all so tight that you got some guys like you you got Brock Farber one goal and an assist like that's what you need from these young defensemen just to be getting these assists and getting a goal or two yeah and there's this Rossi and Farber they've been just like underrated keys for Minnesota I mean Minnesota hasn't had the greatest season but I mean just moving on you know enough about the rookies let's talk about some trade I mean it's getting interesting we're coming around the corner near the all-star break and obviously after a whole star break trade deadline and there could be some early trade right now there's a bunch of talk I know and there's not many trades to really be talked about right now but there's a potential rumor with the how we talked about how the duck season's been going that uh John Gibson found the devil's finally getting a pretty solid gold hand they're like well you feel I mean Josh Gibson could be a devil and within a few weeks so how I feel about this you got me type in a check my guess I love chambers I could go into a whole lecture about but how I guess how I can structure this trade Gibson I'm sure he gets paid a lot and the problem with this goalie he's old and he's still solid I mean you've seen him through patches he's bailed out the ducks time and time you know he's 30 years old six two and decent amount of good weight stuff yeah well and 30 years old he's getting paid six million a year devils can't afford him devils cannot afford it you cannot just sign this guy come the team for this year and then his contract is not ending till another couple years I mean that's the beauty of giving away some players you know just to free up cap you know yes yes three more years in this contract for three to four more years and 6.4 million it is you can't do it's just on a no-trade clause so if he has to waive that that's big so he's won't be out of there um also I want to talk to something I want to talk so these human gifts and really just want to get this organization and they really haven't treated him you know the way that he really should have been with his career wise because I mean they honestly wasted his good years I mean Gibson's last team time coming in he's just a solid goaltender you know he felt he was one of the only Ducks bright spots last year and I know that the Ducks they're obviously gonna be sellers I mean I really just want to you know dive into more since we're out of the big like the big talk with John Gibson who will just really be buyers and sellers you know come to the deadline so my structure for this trade the Devils they're gonna have to give up VTEC because they're gonna need a goalie the Anaheim's gonna need a goalie so my guess if they want to give up VTEC you have you trade the VTEC with VTEC to Anaheim Anaheim to the Devils Anaheim retains 50% of the contract plus the Devils will send over probably they're out to give up unfortunately Nolan Foote a great young forward he's not gonna be able to make it into the system because Devils depth is it just tremendous right now they're in their pride to go get to the playoffs get to the cup and I think it's gonna have to be VTEC and Foote for Gibson well I mean another thing to consider too is just with the Gibson trade you just gotta be realistic too because I mean you got Lucas Dostal under Josh Gibson so I mean I think you can give up some forwards you know just not give away VTEC I mean VTEC can be a solid backup option but again you still have Akira Schmidt which brings you to the question I mean both goalies just haven't been solid. Schmidt was not good except when he decided that he was like prime Marty Berdour in that series against the Rangers. Talk about this trade that's the big ones going on I want to talk about this obviously we're all big Tri-State fans we'll like to talk about league-wide initiatives and events so they recently announced on Wednesday they're hinting at the Jonas Brothers we're gonna be in it they released Jonas Brothers we're in it yeah Jonas Brothers will be the halftime performers I guess you say for our midlife yeah Devils Flyers I believe but I don't understand what is the NHL thinking we love these Devils Rangers rivalries and you freaking got Devils Flyers like the Flyers not being a big spot to be honest you know Rangers and Islanders have been going on a lot longer. There's a lot of bad blood between the Rangers and Islanders. It was a big rivalry last year. Devils Rangers wasn't in the playoffs. Why can't it just be Islanders, Flyers, and Devils Rangers? Devils Rangers hate each other. They're the Tri-State. Yes we do hate each other but I mean to be honest I think the Rangers I mean the Rangers haven't gotten a stab at the Islanders yet. I mean the Islanders they're second in the Metro and I'm really excited to see what the Islanders can bring I mean you got a you got a pretty solid underrated roster I mean Ilya Sorokin is just outstanding I'm getting a little jealous now because there was a debate a few years ago with Ilya versus Igor. Igor right now? I hate to bring it. I mean Igor's just an underperforming champion. Sorokin's just been keeping them in the key games. Helping them beat big opponents like most recently they beat the Vegas Golden Knights which is honestly a huge upset thanks to Sorokin standing on his head. He made like 41 saves that game. Islanders came on top of I believe 2-1 and it's Sorokin's just really and just their offense in general the you got Andrews Lee, you got Matty Barzell as assists. He's an assist machine. You got a lot of great players underrated really on that Islanders team. I think it'll be really fun to watch to watch that from hopefully from my TV and a nice cup of cocoa and watching hopefully watching Shesterk and you know Dominate Sorokin. One of the things I want to mention about that game. It's something that I always saw on Twitter or X, however you guys want to call it now, is they have in the logo they've never done this before. As you can see we have the classic logo pulled up there's obviously there's someone singing that but they don't have the they don't have the artist. They put Jonas Brothers in it. So they're trying to target to more people to get into this game because of Jonas Brothers. Jonas Brothers are big in New Jersey. I know they're big Jersey guys still you know. It's also the marketing too. You got a big football state in MetLife. You got the Tri-State team. You got the rival teams going against each other in the metro. It's a close race between all those four teams right now. The division can go to either team. I mean I don't think it's just the Jonas Brothers doing some marketing. It's just the teams in general. They've been playing great you know. Another thing I want to mention about. We love this winter classic game. Vegas, Seattle. 12 p.m. 9 p.m. in the T-Mobile Park. Shout out to my boy Julio Rodriguez. January 1st and look at this. You've got two competitive teams. I'm sure they're rivals because they're recent and they get into Seattle. I like this matchup because Seattle is just a team that built themselves from scratch. They had some fuck up in the draft. No idea what was going on. I think it's a great game. Love to watch the game. New Year's Day. Vegas, Seattle. I mean Seattle obviously had a huge playoff run last year. I mean I was expecting another great season from them but I mean they've taken a little bit of a step down. I think it's mainly because of their goal tying situation. Gru Bauer just isn't solid as he once was with the Avalanche. They've got some young stars. You've got Matty Beniers. I like Ty Cartier. He emerged pretty well in the playoffs. I mean Seattle's a pretty well-rounded team but I mean you're going against a juggernaut in Vegas. I think that could be a one-sided affair but you never know. I mean any given day. So we're also going to talk about power rankings right now. I mean we talked about that so we're just going to brush up on it. I like the Bruins in first place. First place last year but one thing I want to talk about, which I think will be cool for a segment today, is the predictions for tonight. Okay? Tonight and tomorrow night. So we got some... tonight's prime time game is going to be the Stars Senators game. Actually no, it's the Bruins-Islanders game. We got some interesting games here today. You got Ducks-Rangers. I got the Rangers in that game. What do you got? Well obviously it's the Rangers. I mean Rangers are a solid team. They've been on a little bit of a losing streak lately but hopefully they can turn around against the Ducks. You know what I mean? Like we mentioned many times during our first session here, the Ducks are just rugging as a whole right now. So yeah, give me the Rangers. I think it's like 5-2, 5-1. I think I got a 2-0 Ranger win. 2-0 Ranger win. That's respectable. Now moving on, we got the Predators and Hurricanes now. So right now both teams, I mean Predators, I mean they are underrated. I mean they have been on a huge winning streak so far and you know they're really turning around off that slow start you know and they're kind of a sleeper. They're kind of like a sleeper in the sleep right now. They could potentially make a little playoff push. They could be like a French playoff team. You know maybe some surprise on paper. I really like Juicy Sorrow. Last year was embarrassing in the playoffs. Yeah, I mean you know it's a new year for them. They're finding ways to turn around. Hurricanes, they've been on a little bit of a skid. I mean they've won their last two so right now I'm kind of mixed on this but if we're coming down to just like power overall, I think I'd take the Hurricanes in this game. Something else I want to mention about, Bruins-Allenders. Bruins on a big road trip. It's gonna be a great game as Joe just said. Let's discuss this. I think the Allenders could win this if they have good defense tonight. Yeah, I mean like you mentioned before, Sorokin has just been standing on his head in these tough games but Bruins just obviously, they've been missing McAvoy and you know it'll definitely be a battle. Definitely a hard-fought battle. Islanders really just gotta play up to the competition to escape with the Bruins because I mean the Islanders definitely do have a chance in this one but if it all goes up the plan, I think the Bruins can hang on to this. What's the score prediction, Joe? Score prediction? Give me like 4-2 Bruins. I mean I got 3-2 Bruins in the shootout. Okay, I like it, I like it. We also got a center of stars. It's gonna be a blowout for the Stars. My guess is they're gonna win 6-1. Yeah, I mean yeah, Stars, we forgot to talk about them. They're also high up on those power rankings. How's the Sasha Saks? You like that team? The Stars? Yeah, Jake Ottinger, you got Jake Ottinger, you got Jamie Van Tuyers-Sagan still being solid at their age. Jason Robertson, I think it'll just be way too much. I mean you got Miro Haskin is there as well. Those overwhelming center centers like we mentioned before, they're a mess. So yeah, I actually agree with Rukin. Give me like 5-1 or 6-1 Dallas. Here we go, here we go boys. Coyote Sharks. The Coyotes, I want to say they didn't beat all of the Stanley Cup teams. That was impressive, but obviously Capitals are screwed up. I'm looking at the Sharks. It's gonna be a bloodbath out there in the mold arena. So I got, I actually got the Sharks to win this. Really, really? I got 5-2 Sharks. Okay, I mean it's a bold prediction, but I mean, have you been paying attention to the Coyotes? Yeah, but like, I mean the Coyotes. The Sharks are gonna be the Sharks. They're gonna do whatever they can. I mean yeah, the Sharks are Sharks. They have been grinding out. I mean they were in a shootout against Vegas a few nights ago. I mean the Sharks have looked better from where they were in the beginning. I mean obviously, like we mentioned before, they're still a mess, but they're a team that can still grind out, grind out a few games. You know, surprise a few people, but I mean the Coyotes, there are a few games over 500. Underrated goalie talk. I mean Conor Ingram, my respect for that guy. You know, he's been staying on his head a few games, and Coyotes offense has been pretty solid. You know, we've got some big key contributors on that team, and you know, you just need a better hockey market, I think, in Arizona. But you know, give me Arizona, give me a score of 5-3. Like I said, the Sharks will grind out, you know. So that was a little, I don't want to talk about the Vegas Sabres game. That's the biggest, probably 6-1, 7-1. They're going to come out, I'll go 6-2 Vegas. Something I also want to touch upon. Tomorrow, we got a big game. So the big game, I think, tomorrow is Rangers-Bruins. Look at this, the Rangers are in the position against the Bruins, that the Devils beat the Rangers, the Elves beat the Bruins, and help the Rangers out to lose a point. So I think if the Rangers get that win tomorrow, they'll look in some good shape for the playoffs. Like I said, I think I kind of agree with you at this time. I mean, the last time the Rangers-Bruins met, Rangers came out on top. I was really happy with that game. It's just the Bruins, I mean, like we said, we mentioned before, against the Allenders, they're a solid team. You know, they're going to grind. They grind every day, and the Rangers are a little inconsistent right now. So I mean, it'll be a fun matchup, but I mean, it can be either team's game. Rangers took the first one. I mean, obviously, the Bruins have a bad taste in their mouths after that last loss, and they're looking to improve and, you know, keep pushing on those power ranges. Right now, those teams are neck-and-neck. Also, just to close it out, let's talk about one main head coach firing right now. So the Blues coach, Craig Minnova, I think that's how you pronounce it, he was relieved of his duties. He was relieved of his duties, yes. But the thing is that he led them to a 2019 Cup run, you know, he was there for all those years. I mean, the Blues have been struggling a little bit for the past few years. I mean, St. Louis, they're still like a fringy playoff team in my eyes, but that's like, I think that's like a lean question we can take into the next episode. Like, could they be sellers of the deadline, potentially tankies? I mean, you know, a lot of pretty solid players on that team, and you know, it would just be a big question. I mean, that could be the headlines of our next episode. To wrap this up today, we appreciate everyone coming out, everyone listening to this. This may not be published, we'll figure this out, but something I want to give a quick shout out to is Mr. Brian DeNovellis at Holmdel High School. He was helping us with this outline.
