They argue that many people use drugs without any problems, although they may have to buy them illegally. The speaker finds it strange that pleasure associated with drugs is seen as taboo, while it is acceptable to say that alcohol is enjoyable. I think it is focused a little bit too much on harm. It is focused pretty much nothing on pleasure, bearing in mind that 90 per cent of people who use drugs do so fairly unproblematically and albeit if they have to buy these drugs in an illicit market. However, pleasure is sort of taboo. It is probably as taboo as addiction. That is the funny thing about it—it is just one of those things where you cannot say that drugs are enjoyable and yet it is okay to say that alcohol is enjoyable.
