Maya is upset with Lily for revealing their secret investigation without discussing it with her. They argue about the risks involved. Maya decides to handle the situation on her own and tells Lily to stay home. Maya tries to contact Samuel but he doesn't answer, so she goes to the office and sees a suspicious man leaving Samuel's office. She enters Samuel's office and they discuss the case. Samuel instructs Maya to leave the case and not work in the field anymore due to increased risk. Maya questions why this case is different, and Samuel explains the dangerous people involved. Samuel takes over the case and tells Maya not to contact or visit Lily. Maya trusts Samuel and returns to her desk to analyze the data they've collected. Have you lost your mind? Why would you do something like this and that too without discussing with me? I thought we were a team, Maya continued, we were supposed to keep this a secret until we had all the evidences. The parties involved are very dangerous, and they can easily manipulate the outcome of our investigation. Most importantly, Maya knew, after pulling off a stunt like this, everyone would be after their lives due to the anticipation of solid evidence against the businesses. Lily had a very logical response to Maya's reaction. I understand how you feel, but we have enough evidence to prove in court. It will be impossible to get more details without confronting the businesses directly. This way they will have to submit the information in court. No matter what the reason, Maya was not convinced. Maybe she was right, but she stated, the risk of working on this case has increased multiple times. It was not your call to make. Now, I will have to sort out this situation for my end. Maya was scared about the consequences, but she was even more scared of telling Samuel about what happened. With a gray face, Maya orders Lily you go home now, and you will not come out until I tell you to. Maya was very scared for her friend, she continued, I will contact you myself, if you need anything like food or other supplies, let me know, and I will bring them to you. Maya was both scared and angry at Lily. Lily, nodded as she knew this was serious, she had never seen Maya act like this before. She does not have any other choice but to head home and lock herself in house arrest. Maya tried calling Samuel, but he did not pick up his phone. She decided that she would rush to the office, she knew that Samuel was a workaholic, and she would definitely find him there. He never got any holidays, did not have any family, and no friends that she could point out. He was only dedicated to his work. This was probably the reason that he was promoted to the position of editor-in-chief at an early age of only 31 years, she thought. Maya quickly found the nearest exit to the park and rushed to grab a cab. It wasn't long before she found one and flagged it down. The cab left her in front of her office. As she exited the vehicle, her phone was still on her ear trying to reach Samuel, but there was no response. He was unavailable for some reason, and it was very strange for him to not answer his calls. He always answers his phone, she thought in her head which caused her heart to pound even more loudly. Swiftly she took the lift and reached her office floor. The office was jam packed like always. The regular hustle of the day could be noticed. There was nothing out of the ordinary. To calm down her nerves, instead of going straight to Samuel's office, she leapt on a colleague's desk to inquire about Samuel's whereabouts. Hi Samantha, how are you today? Maya greeted, attempting to collect herself and hide her nervousness. Samantha's fingers paused momentarily on the keyboard as she looked up from her work. Hi Maya, I thought you were out in the field today. What brings you back to the office? Samantha replied, her tone curious. Maya felt the urgency of the situation weighing heavily on her. Yes, I was, but I really need to see Samuel. Is he in his office? Maya asked, her voice betraying her sense of urgency. Samantha's brow furrowed slightly at Maya's abruptness. Yes, he is. But, before Samantha could finish her sentence, Maya had already turned on her heel and hurried toward Samuel's office. Samantha watched her go, puzzled by Maya's behavior. She reached out to call Maya back, but she was already too far away. Thank you, Samantha. I'll talk to you later. I need to rush, Maya called over her shoulder, her voice echoing down the hallway as she disappeared around the corner. Samantha shook her head in confusion, wondering what could have caused Maya to be in such a hurry. Maya was about to reach Samuel's office when suddenly his office door opened, and a man emerged like a shadow cast from the depths of darkness itself. A thin and tall gentleman wearing a black jacket slowly came out of the office. He closed the door and immediately put his hands in his jacket. A deep scar marred his cheek, adding an intimidating edge to his appearance, it was like someone had cut his face with a big knife. His looks and demeanor were terrifying, exuding a feeling of complete dominance and no care in the world. Maya and the man crossed paths on the narrow alleyway. Neither one said anything but shared a brief moment of eye contact as they walked across each other. Maya was already scared, but seeing this strange guy in Samuel's office raised her heartbeat even more. She stopped for a second and looked back at the man as he walked straight toward the lift. It took Maya a few seconds to get normal. It dawned on her why Samuel wasn't answering her call he must have been in a meeting with that man. Maya turned her gaze, and she stood in front of Samuel's office. She took a deep breath and knocked on the door. A voice from inside the office called come in. Upon entering, it was a usual sight. Samuel was sitting on his large leather chair, reading the file in front of him, and smoking his pipe. Hey Maya, come on in. Maya stepped in and closed the door behind her. Samuel's gaze was clear and anticipating to hear from Maya, it was like Samuel already knew what Maya was about to say. Yes, but how do you already know about it? She asked, her voice tinged with confusion and frustration. In this business, we must have eyes everywhere. One of my sources told me about the case already. By this time, Maya's head was spinning. She was completely baffled by the network of sources Samuel had. She wanted to learn more about the source, but the unwritten rule of journalism dictated that no one shares their sources. So, she focused on the pressing issue at hand. I understand that you instructed me to keep this case a secret until we've reached the bottom of it, she said, trying to keep her voice steady despite the turmoil swirling within her. But now that it's out in the open, what do we do? Samuel knew that this was a profoundly serious matter. He was lost in his thought calculating the best course of action. Maya continued to say, I will take full responsibility of this. It was my oversight that has led us here. Samuel remained silent for a moment, his gaze drifting to the side of the room where his trophies and awards were displayed neatly. It's not your fault, he fondly said, his tone reassuring. I suspected this could happen when you started working with her. Her impulsive nature always was a potential risk to this sensitive case. Maya nodded in agreement, relieved to have Samuel's support. But they both knew that assigning blame wouldn't solve their current predicament. They needed to focus on finding a solution to salvage the situation before it spiraled out of control. Samuel cleared his throat, his expression grave as he addressed Maya. Clearly, the risk in this case has increased, especially for Lily since she's now the face of this case. Even if people don't know that you were involved, there's a possibility that this information might come out sooner or later. There was a clear concern in Samuel's voice as he continued, I don't want either one of you to get hurt. Leave the case here. You will not work on it anymore. But sir, I'm on the verge of concluding this case. Walking away now would mean abandoning my duty, Maya insisted, her tone resolute. Samuel sighed, understanding Maya's dedication but knowing he needed to prioritize their safety. There are more important things than honor in life, my dear, he replied gently. Lily initiated the case, so she'll be the primary target. If you're seen working with her, you'll also be at risk. I'll have to take over the case from here. You'll share all the details with me, but you're no longer permitted to work in the field. Maya couldn't comprehend what made this case particularly perilous. She had dealt with risky cases before, and Samuel had always encouraged them to persevere despite the danger. This sudden change in his demeanor puzzled her, prompting Maya to ask, what makes this case different? Why the sudden caution? Samuel hesitated, knowing Maya deserved an honest answer. You see the businesses involved, but you don't see the people behind them. These individuals have deep ties with influential politicians in the underworld. I've known them for years and witnessed their involvement in cases related to corruption and missing persons. But they always managed to evade justice, manipulating their way out of trouble. Maya's jaw clenched in frustration, but she nodded in reluctant agreement. She understood Samuel's reasoning, even if it went against her instincts as an investigator. Deep down, she knew that protecting themselves and their colleagues was paramount, even if it meant putting her pride aside. With genuine concern for Lily's safety weighing on her mind, Maya couldn't help but ask, what happens with Lily? However, instead of providing a direct answer, Samuel diverted the conversation by inquiring about the whereabouts of Lily and what was the last conversation between them. After gathering Maya's responses, Samuel finally spoke, his tone grave, leave the rest to me. I'll handle Lily, and you shouldn't contact her or visit her house. That place is not safe anymore. Listening to Samuel's reassuring words, Maya could rest assured that he will take care of the situation. She knew that there was no other viable option than to trust Samuel. He was better equipped to navigate through these complex circumstances. Maya quietly returned to her desk, her mind buzzing with thoughts about the case. Though she couldn't actively investigate in the field, she still had access to the data she had gathered. Determined to find solid evidence against the suspects, Maya delved into the information at her disposal, meticulously analyzing every detail. As she worked, Maya grappled with the dilemma of whether to inform Lily about the impending danger. Aware of Lily's impulsive nature, Maya feared that revealing the truth might lead to unpredictable actions from her friend. Instead, she would call her to notify that everything was fine, and Samuel would call her with further instructions. She knew that protecting Lily meant keeping her in the dark about the looming threat. The following morning, it was the day of the neighborhood cleanup event. Maya found herself back at Logan Park. Arriving early, she took the initiative to set up a table and organize the supplies like flyers, gloves, garbage bags, brooms, and more for the volunteers. As she worked, memories from the previous day flooded her mind, particularly the incident with Bella and the spilled coffee. Before long, Maya spotted Bella approaching, accompanied by a crowd of volunteers. Relief washed over Maya as she greeted Bella warmly. Good morning, Bella, Maya said, kicking off the conversation with a heartfelt apology. I'm very sorry for yesterday. Sorry for both spilling the coffee and suddenly leaving with Lily, Bella's expression softened as she reached out to hold Maya's hands. Don't worry about a thing. Coffee spills happen all the time, she reassured Maya. But I was truly concerned about you. You seemed shaken as you left the cafe. Is everything okay? Maya hesitated, unsure of how much to reveal. With a forced smile, she replied, everything is fine. We were able to resolve the situation after leaving the cafe. Bella nodded understandingly, her worry easing at Maya's reassuring words. I'm relieved to hear that, she said. I was really worried about you. Their conversation was interrupted as more volunteers arrived at the site, signaling the start of the neighborhood cleanup event. Soon it became a grand affair with Maya and Bella taking the center stage coordinating the volunteers and kicking off the day's activities. Among the volunteers was Mr. Thompson, a retired teacher with a passion for environmental conservation. He arrived carrying a large wicker basket filled with homemade snacks to share with his fellow volunteers. Morning, everyone. He called out cheerfully, his face beaming with enthusiasm. Beside Mr. Thompson stood Maria, a high school student. She had rallied her classmates to join the event, and they arrived in a colorful throng, armed with brooms, rakes, and shovels. Let's make a difference today, Maria exclaimed, her voice ringing with determination. Consolidating the volunteers, Maya and Bella moved among them, greeting each person with warmth and gratitude. Maya distributed flyers detailing the importance of recycling and waste reduction. We will distribute these flyers across the city. Our goal is to educate the people about importance of cleanliness and how it impacts our health and environment. While Bella offered words of encouragement and support, this is a day we will make a difference. We will clean the park first and later move to the other parts of the city. The cleanup began in earnest, with volunteers splitting into teams to tackle different areas of the park. Some focused on clearing litter from the playground, while others worked to remove weeds and debris from the flower beds. Amidst the flurry of activity, there were moments of laughter and camaraderie, as volunteers bonded over shared experiences and common goals. However, the task was not without its challenges. As they worked, the volunteers encountered stubborn patches of trash and tangled undergrowth that seemed determined to resist their efforts. Yet, with perseverance and teamwork, they pushed forward, determined to leave the park better than they found it. Throughout the morning, Maya and Bella worked tirelessly, picking up litter, sorting recyclables, and sharing tips on sustainable living with participants. They were buoyed by the sense of camaraderie and purpose that permeated the event, knowing that they were not only cleaning up their neighborhood but also raising awareness about the importance of environmental stewardship. Simultaneously, they provided guidance and support, ensuring that the volunteers had everything they needed to succeed. They praised their efforts and celebrated their achievements, inspiring them to continue their mission with renewed vigor. As lunchtime drew closer, the park was transformed. Where once there had been litter and neglect, there was now beauty and order. The volunteers stood back, their chests swelling with pride, as they surveyed their handiwork. The park looks absolutely beautiful, Maya declared, her voice filled with satisfaction. But our work is far from over. Let's take a quick lunch break, and soon after we will move to other parts of the city to spread the flyers and promote cleanliness. I have ordered lunch for everyone from a local Mexican shop. As everyone took a break, they were all exhausted from working, everyone was hungry and quickly dug into the food. Meanwhile, as Maya and Bella were busy with their campaign, it was the first day of just visit to Oval's office. His morning began with Bella leaving the house early to volunteer at the cleanup event, leaving just alone at home. He savored the breakfast she had prepared before embarking on his journey to the office. The streets of downtown were alive with activity as he made his way towards Oval's head office, located on the opposite side of the bustling city center. As he traversed the downtown area, the landscape gradually changed. Tall buildings gave way to shorter structures, and the atmosphere shifted from bustling to more subdued. Consulting the maps on his phone, just realized he was only minutes away from his destination. With a sense of anticipation building within him, he quickened his pace. Approaching the office building, just was struck by its imposing presence. Though not towering like some of the skyscrapers in the city, it commanded attention with its sheer size and volume. Standing before the gleaming glass facade, just felt a surge of excitement and nervousness wash over him. Taking a deep breath, he pushed open the glass door and stepped into the lobby. He couldn't help but marvel at the sleek, modern architecture surrounding him, feeling a sense of awe at the beginning of this new chapter in his life. As just stepped into the lobby, he noticed several people seated on the plush couches, dressed in crisp business suits and looking slightly tense as they clutched random files in their hands. They appeared to be prospective employees, perhaps here for interviews or meetings. Across the lobby, a station boasted an array of drinking water and coffee machines, providing refreshments for guests and employees alike. The pristine white marble floor gleamed under the bright lights, lending an air of elegance to the already well-lit space. Just straightened his tie, adjusting the knot with a nervous flutter in his stomach. Excited to meet Abel for the first time in his office, he knew that Abel was an enigmatic entrepreneur whose reputation preceded him and commanded respect as a titan of industry and a visionary leader. With a deep breath, Just stepped forward, his polished dress shoes echoing against the marble floors as he approached the reception desk. The receptionist greeted him with a warm smile, her demeanor exuding professionalism and warmth. Good morning, she chimed, her voice melodic. How may I assist you today? Just gray, Just replied, his voice steady despite the butterflies swirling within him. I have an appointment with Mr. Abel. The receptionist nodded, saying, just give me a minute, I will check his schedule for meetings. Her fingers danced across the keyboard as she verified Just's appointment. After a moment, she looked up. Ah, yes, Mr. Gray, she said with a warm smile. He has been expecting you. Please, follow me. The receptionist rose gracefully from her chair, giving Just a chance to take in her appearance. She was a striking young woman with long red nails and silky straight hair cascading down to Just below her shoulders. Her white shirt was neatly tucked into a gray skirt and a name tag pinned to her shirt read Aisha. Though not particularly tall, she exuded confidence, her slender frame complimenting her height and her heels complimented her attire. With a polite gesture, she motioned for Just to follow her. With a sense of purpose, Just fell into steps behind Aisha as she led him through the maze-like corridors of the office. With each step, his excitement and heart rate grew. Finally, they arrived at a set of imposing double doors, where the receptionist paused and turned to face him, her demeanor professional yet welcoming. Mr. Abel will see you now, she said, gesturing for him to enter. With a final deep breath, Just pushed open the doors and stepped into the inner sanctum of Abel's office. The opulent ambience of the room enveloped him, with warm, natural light casting a soft glow over the tasteful decor and elegant furnishings. It was a space befitting of someone of Abel's stature, a testament to his success in the business world. In the center of the room, a large mahogany desk commanded attention, its polished surface gleaming under the soft over-headlights. Behind the desk sat Abel, a formidable figure in his own right. He gestured for Just to take a seat in one of the plush leather chairs facing the desk, and Just obliged, feeling a mixture of nervousness and anticipation wash over him. It was unlike any pressure he had felt from Abel before, and he couldn't help but wonder if it was the ambience of the room that demanded such respect. As Just settled into his seat, Abel leaned back in his own chair, the only sound in the room was the soft hum of the air conditioning and the distant murmur of voices from outside. Just couldn't resist a quick glance around the room, taking in the framed awards adorning the walls and the shelves lined with books, each detail a reflection of Abel's unwavering commitment to excellence. The silence stretched between them, Abel's keen gaze noting Just's observant demeanor. With a soft clearing of his throat, Abel finally broke the silence, his voice calm and measured as he welcomed Just to his office. Good morning, Just. I hope there was no trouble finding the office, Abel greeted, his tone cheerful. Just responded quickly, no sir, I used the maps on my phone to find the office. Hearing Just address him so formally was a bit perplexing for Abel, as if they were strangers meeting for the first time. What's with that sir? Are you alright? Abel expressed concern. Just call me Abel, like you always do. Just hesitated for a moment, unsure of how to articulate his feelings. He couldn't shake off the overwhelming presence of Abel in his own office. Despite Abel's familiar appearance gray hoodie, black pants, sleeves rolled up to the joints, adorned with two expensive looking rings one in each hand and a large black watch Just couldn't help but feel a sense of intimidation in his presence. As Abel reassured him to call him by his first name, Just felt a wave of relief wash over him. His nervousness began to subside, and he felt his heart rate gradually slowing down. With each passing second, he found himself becoming more at ease in Abel's presence. You have a great office. Just commented as his eyes rolled around in the room again admiring Abel's office. To which Abel replied with a big smile on his face, I'm glad that you like it. Abel was also looking forward to this meeting. To make time for Just, he had cleared his schedule until the lunch break. Proactive as always, Abel had planned the entire day for Just to explore the facilities and learn more about the business operations. But before they could get started with their tour, Abel advised to wait for the staff to settle in their designated positions. Which left them with some time to chat. Abel and Just chatted for a bit about various topics like Bella, school, and Just's summer break. As soon as the clock struck 9.15, Abel declared, it's time. Come on, let me show you around the office. Just's excitement was palpable as he immediately stood up from his seat. Okay, let's go. I'm ready. It seemed like Just had slipped back into his old skin. After conversing with Abel for some time, he had become comfortable and was now as cheerful and bubbly as ever. Abel also left his desk, striding across the large mahogany desk to stand in front of Just. Seeing Just's excitement brought a wide grin to Abel's face, reflecting his inner joy. He couldn't contain his pleasure, reaching out to mess with Just's hairstyle, eliciting a quick reaction from Just as he backed up and began fixing his hair. I've told you, I don't like anyone touching my hair, Just protested. However, Abel paid no heed to his plea, simply stating, we should get going now. Let's walk. With that, they embarked on their tour of the office, Abel leading the way with a spring in his step. Abel led Just across the expansive office space, weaving through rooms and conference halls adorned with large glass windows and wooden frames. Among these spaces, they halted at a particular office marked with a nameplate reading John Zier, General Manager. Just, unfamiliar with the intricacies of corporate hierarchy, couldn't discern the significance of the title. However, the imposing double doors of the office caught his attention, such grand entrances were reserved for prominent figures he thought. He couldn't help but speculate about the importance of the individual behind those doors. Abel knocked on the door, and upon hearing the invitation to enter, he pushed it open. The room revealed itself to be another well-appointed office, albeit with its own distinct flair. Numerous photos adorned the walls, though they weren't portraits of people but rather images of various products and electronics. One particularly striking feature was a gigantic painting positioned directly behind the wooden desk, commanding attention upon entry. Flanking the painting were two shelves dedicated to displaying an impressive array of awards, while additional shelves on either side held a vast collection of books. It was clear that this office belonged to someone who took pride in their possessions and achievements, a stark contrast to the minimalistic design of Abel's own workspace. As soon as Abel and Just entered the room, the smartly dressed man behind the desk rose to his feet, exuding an air of confidence and energy. With swift movements, he closed the distance between them to greet everyone with his radiating warmth and enthusiasm. It was evident that John possessed a dynamic personality, characterized by his quick reflexes and lively presence. Ah, it's you too. I've been expecting you, John greeted them warmly, his voice resonating with a depth that seemed more suited to a politician than a typical businessman. He gestured toward a plush couch positioned at the back of the room, inviting them to take a seat. Just hadn't even noticed the couch yet, as it was hidden behind the office door, out of his line of sight. This part of the office resembled more of a study room than a traditional workspace. Well, I have only seen offices and quarters until now, just replied. Right after, Abel chimed in, we just left the office, we were waiting for everyone to settle down before we started our tour. You are the first one that we have visited. John was certainly happy hearing about this as it could be seen clearly on his face. It is an honor to have you both here. Would you like to have some coffee? As he said that John, stood up from his spot and walked across the couch to the coffee table right behind the couch where they all were sitting. Abel replied, not at the moment. I am only here to introduce you and just, we will have to get back on our way to cover all the offices and the warehouse facility. Listening to Abel speak, John retreated his steps back to the couch. You are right, let's deal with the important stuff first. Saying this John sat back on his side of the couch. Now, Abel starts introducing John, looking directly at just. This is my friend John Zier, we have been friends since we met at our business school more than 16 years ago. He is also the general manager for two of my most important manufacturing businesses, where one is generators manufacturing business and the other is food processing and packaging business. After our field trip today, you will shadow him for a few days, until you understand the manufacturing businesses. Great introduction, Abel, John called out, aiming to lighten the mood and make just feel more at ease. Oh, and don't forget to mention that I saved your life once, John continued, his tone jovial as he sought to keep the conversation engaging, leaving room for just and himself to delve into more topics later on. We're short on time today, I have a meeting right after lunch, Abel interjected, his tone indicating the need to wrap things up. But just we'll be here every day now. We'll have plenty of time to chat about random stuff later. There was a playful glint in Abel's eye, suggesting a long standing camaraderie between him and John. Their easy rapport made their conversation friendly and lighthearted, evident in their relaxed demeanor and banner. Introduction's over. Let's get going, Abel declared, prompting all three to rise from their seats and head towards the door. John bid farewell to just, assuring him they would catch up after lunch. With a smile, just followed Abel as they navigated the narrow hallways, eventually arriving at a large, imposing door painted in dark gray. It seemed to guard something significant on the other side, emphasized by the electronic sensor atop the door handle, its red light blinking incessantly, indicating that it was currently sealed shut. Abel reached into his right pocket and pulled a completely white card. This card was thicker than usual ATM or credit cards. As soon as he placed the card on the door handle right below the flickering light. The light turned a solid green. Without waiting, Abel pushed the door open and revealed a gigantic space beyond the door. This is our warehouse, says Abel. As soon as just enters the warehouse, he was simply mesmerized seeing the large space. It was so huge that three large airplanes can fit inside comfortably. This is our central location for distribution across the world. We pull in all the finished products from all our manufacturing plants here. We process them like putting labels, wrapping, adding manuals, putting shipping labels, etc. All this happens here in this 80,000 square feet facility. The heart of Abel's businesses, Abel explained with a spark of enthusiasm in his eyes. He was equally proud and excited to present the warehouse to Just. The warehouse seemed busy with forklifts moving in and out of the aisles, workers counting and checking products on pallets, and some workers simply placing the products on the towering racks. It was a completely new world for Just. He had never imagined that the warehouse looked like this. He thought, no amount of studies about warehouse operations, best practices, or warehouse layouts would come close to experiencing the warehouse environment in person. Abel took Just to an adjoining room next to the door they just entered. This room resembled a locker room of a basketball team. The room had over 50 lockers spread across the walls of the room. One corner of the room was dedicated to shoe racks only, housing many shoes neatly organized on the racks. Abel guided Just to the shoe racks and requested him, find a size that fits you and put them on. Abel gestured towards the different sizes of shoes placed on the racks. Just had never seen anything like this before. They were not exactly shoes, but like slip-ons, meant to slip onto the shoes that he was already wearing. With a hard metal top to protect the toes, a rubber sole, and another hard metal piece at the back. This is part of the safety protocols, everyone who enters the warehouse must comply with these safety standards. Most of the workers in the warehouse have their own safety shoes which are better quality and comfortable than these. These shoes are for the visitors like us. Abel continues briefing Just about the safety equipment that is available in the warehouse. We also have gloves, but we won't be needing them as we are not working here. As Abel was explaining this to Just, he was done putting his slip-on boots. It was time to move out of the locker room and enter the warehouse floor. The first thing he noticed was that the entire warehouse floor was divided into different sections with the help of yellow and black lines on the floor. The yellow lines mark a narrow walkway leading into the warehouse. Abel explains, the warehouse is a very dangerous place to walk. The workers here are operating heavy equipment to move products around the warehouse. The products they are carrying are also very heavy and have a high risk of falling. Hence, whenever you need to walk in the warehouse, these yellow walkways are the safest place for walking. The employees do not cross these designated areas with their heavy-duty machines. Just nodded to Abel's advice, he understood that safety was the number one priority when working in the warehouse. This was the kind of practical experience he wanted to learn. Now that he was here and saw it with his own eyes, he would always remember the safety protocols. Just wondered if those were the only safety protocols he should know about. Abel continued to speak, our warehouse manager is the best person to talk to when it comes to safety. You can pick his brain when it's time to learn more about the processes happening in the warehouse, safety, and maintenance of the facility. As Abel explained everything to Just, they quickly approached a strange building in the middle of the warehouse. The warehouse manager's office resembled a central control tower, hexagonal in shape, at least two stories high with large glass windows on the top floor. It was like a building within a building. Some forklifts were parked outside, encircling one half of the office, while pallet jacks and pallet power trucks were neatly organized on the other half. Even the areas for parking the warehouse equipment were marked on the floor, signifying how organized the warehouse manager was. Upon entering the office, the only things visible were additional supplies like fire extinguishers, cleaning supplies, tools, clamps, spare parts, and some miscellaneous items. There was some order to the supplies, but nothing compared to the organized warehouse outside. Just wondered if the same person was responsible for both. Abel closed the door behind him and indicated that the office was on the upper floor. There was no lift that went up, instead, there was a metal stairway leading to the upper floor. Abel and Just started climbing the stairs. The stairs made half a circle from the bottom to the top, going along the three walls of the hexagonal office building. As they reached upstairs, it felt like they had entered a watchtower used to control air traffic. The tower had six large transparent windows facing the warehouse, offering an unobstructed view. Just could clearly see an area dedicated to inbound and outbound inventory. Inside the office was a large space where multiple employees worked, with no walls dividing the working spaces. Adjacent to the entrance was the office of the warehouse manager, the only office with clear separation boundaries from the rest of the shared working space, achieved with short white walls. Just and Abel redirected their steps toward the manager's office. Just noted that this office was a bit different from the others next door. Sitting at the desk was a middle-aged man running his eyes between his computer screen and the files placed in front of him. This office had a utilitarian vibe, devoid of any aesthetic embellishments. There was no door to the office, many cabinets filled the space inside, and many loose papers could be seen stacked neatly on the shelves. The desk, while functional, was not very large compared to those in other offices. It seemed designed solely to fulfill the operational needs of the manager, with no space for additional items. Just couldn't help but notice the stark contrast to the sleeker offices he had previously seen. Hi Bill, crazy day? Abel greeted the manager, acknowledging the bustling atmosphere of the warehouse. Bill heard the voice, but engrossed in his task, he didn't turn around to greet back immediately. It was evident he was focused on something crucial and couldn't afford to lose his concentration. After a few tense moments, Bill finally finished and pressed enter on his keyboard. He then shifted his gaze away from the computer screen to find Abel and just standing there. Good morning, yes, there's a truck coming in to pick up an order. Some paperwork needs to be done for that, Bill explained, his attention momentarily diverted by the sound of the printer springing to life. It word to action, spitting out several papers which accumulated on the tray. Great, I understand that you're busy. I just wanted to introduce you to this young man, just. Abel informed Bill before turning to address just directly. This is Bill, our warehouse manager and one of the most important people working for me. He works wonders with his efficiency and management skills, making our business thrive. Bill replied, I am not that important, everything important goes up in the office next door. Actually, I can make some time now, come on have a seat. Bill stands up on his seat and warmly welcomes Abel and just. So, just what brings you here today? You seem very young to be working here. To which just replies, I am only here to learn. I would like to start my own business someday. So, I am gathering as much information as possible about the processes. Bill carefully listened to just and said, isn't he a spirited young lad? I like your spirit. Keep it up. If you need anything from me, feel free to ask. Abel replied, actually, we were thinking that just could follow you for a few days to understand the workflow and how you are so good at what you do. Bill was not really sure what was going on. In his entire career of 20 years working in this industry, there has never been a situation where a random guy comes along and he will have to train him. Well, if you really want to learn, this job is more hands on. So, you will have to agree to work, and only then will you be able to learn how this warehouse works. Bill, although did not want to take on this additional task. He agreed because the request came from the man himself, Abel. This is great, I don't mind working here as long as I can see and understand the processes. Just replied enthusiastically. For working here, you will be paid a minimum wage of $20 an hour. You will have a fixed schedule and you will shadow every employee working in the office outside for one week to understand the processes. This was great news for just as this would also be his first job. Moreover, the main thing that caught just's attention was that Bill was so quick in accommodating him into the team. This proved his problem solving skills and efficient management skills. Just could not wait to get started, but for now, he had to continue his tour of the facility. Abel and Just bid farewell to Bill and started moving towards the other side of the warehouse office, from where they came in. This time, when they reached the large gray door, there was no security clearance required to exit the warehouse. On the other side of the gray door was another narrow alleyway which led to a large hall where more office rooms were located. Just could tell that it was the other side of the office building. The ground floor was dedicated to the warehouse entrance and office staff. He was still not sure what he would find on the upper levels of the office floors. This side of the hall was just as beautiful as the reception side. A stunning chandelier hung from the ceiling, casting a warm glow over the area. There was a separate coffee room, a leisure sitting area, a smaller conference room, and some vending machines. It was an inviting office space, and anyone would enjoy working there. As soon as Abel and Just left the narrow alleyway, they noticed the first office room on the left, labeled Designing. Interestingly, there was no individual's name written on the door, leaving Just to wonder why, upon entering, Just was mesmerized by the enormous room. It was as long as the narrow alleyway they had just crossed and equally as wide. The room housed multiple areas like a computer area with multiple computer screens, an area for prototyping and clay modeling, testing area where a disassembled generator was placed on a short table, a tooling area with some machines, and a humongous table in the middle. Abel and Just made their way to the first desk in the computer area, where Just finally caught sight of the name tag. It read, ER. Ethan, Chief Product Designer. As they approached, four individuals were engrossed in a discussion with Ethan, the Chief Product Designer. As Ethan caught sight of Abel, he promptly ceased the conversation and rose from his chair. Good morning, boss. What brings you here today? I thought our meeting to discuss the new design was scheduled for next week, Ethan reminded. Abel nodded, acknowledging Ethan's statement. Indeed, we will meet next week, no change in the plans. However, today I brought Just Gray here to meet you. He's keen on learning about how we design our generators in the process of innovation. Essentially, he's interested in understanding the projects you're currently working on. I also wanted to take the opportunity to assess the progress of our latest product design, Abel explained. As everyone in the room greeted Abel with a warm good morning, Just took in the sight of the office. It resembled more of a workshop than a conventional office space, adorned with an array of tools and equipment. Lathe machines, 3D printers, milling machines, clamps, and various general purpose tools were neatly arranged throughout the room. One striking feature was the large shadow board mounted on the wall, displaying an assortment of tools such as spanners, wrenches, hammers, and more. The organized layout and abundance of tools spoke volumes about the creative and innovative environment fostered within the workspace. It was certainly an intriguing office environment unlike any just had encountered before. Oh, hi Just. I'm thrilled to meet you. So, are you interested in product design and research? Ethan greeted Just warmly, his eyes reflecting genuine enthusiasm. Uncertain about the specifics, Just simply responded, I want to learn about the product design process so that I can apply that knowledge to my own creations in the future. Ethan nodded understandingly. Product design involves many components. To truly excel, one must possess engineering skills. But don't be discouraged, we can provide you with the basics, and your progress will ultimately depend on your dedication. Addressing Obel's request for an update, Ethan continued, everything is going great. We are on track to achieve our goals. I can show you the prototype we've been working on. With a nod, Ethan signaled for the other four employees to return to their seats. They would resume their discussion after Obel and Just departed. Leading the way, Ethan guided them to the large table in the middle of the room. It was a notably large table, with an overhead light casting a focus glow, emphasizing its significance in the workspace. Just couldn't help but wonder about the table's importance as they approached it. At the table, Just was captivated by the site before him. Positioned at the center was a small, disassembled electricity generator, its intricate components laid bare. Surrounding it were meticulously detailed blueprints, each line and annotation a testament to the complexity of the design process. Just couldn't help but marvel at the level of precision and thought that went into creating something as intricate as a generator. As Ethan began to speak, Just leaned in, eager to absorb every word. With the traditional generators, Ethan explained, gesturing towards the disassembled unit, we've encountered numerous issues, mechanical friction, leaking magnetic flux, limitations in magnet strength within the coils, and outdated coil wrapping methods, and more. All these problems leave a lot of room for improvements. Just nodded, absorbing the technical details with fascination. Ethan continued, his words painting a picture of innovation and progress. With this new design, we're aiming for fundamental changes. We're addressing these issues head-on, implementing advanced solutions to optimize performance and efficiency. Beside the blueprints and generator parts, Just noticed a series of test reports and data sheets neatly organized on the table. These documents provided valuable insights into the performance metrics and potential improvements of the new design. Additionally, a digital tablet displayed intricate 3D models and simulations, allowing for a comprehensive understanding of the generator's inner workings. The combination of tangible components, technical drawings, and digital simulations offered Just a holistic view of the design process. It was an immersive experience, one that fueled his curiosity and ignited a newfound passion for product design and innovation. As Ethan delved deeper into the proposed changes, Just listened intently, absorbing every detail. The first change Ethan highlighted was a revolutionary shift in material for the electric winding. Copper has served us well as a conductor, but we know that it comes with its own challenges like energy loss due to resistive heating. The generator's output reduces with long-duration usage. To overcome this challenge our materials expert had proposed a game-changing alloy of copper and silver, Ethan explained. This alloy boasts superior conductivity compared to pure copper, potentially revolutionizing our generator's performance. He paused, acknowledging the significant cost implications of such a change. Alternatively, he continued, we're exploring an alloy of copper and nickel as a more cost-effective option. Initial simulations suggest that either alloy could enhance the generator's efficiency by up to 40%. Further, we are also working on something revolutionary to counter the hysteresis loss in the core. I will introduce that change in our meeting next week. Just's eyes widened in amazement, realizing the magnitude of the potential improvements. Ethan's expertise and strategic approach to innovation were evident, and Just found himself inspired by the possibilities. Next, Ethan addressed the issue of magnetic flux leakage, proposing a novel solution involving additional magnets strategically placed within the generator's housing. By introducing these magnets along the boundaries, we can effectively contain the magnetic flux, minimizing leakage and optimizing efficiency, Ethan explained. He went on to outline the need for a secondary housing to enclose the entire assembly, ensuring a concentrated flux within the core and support the housing of external magnets, outside of the stator. This additional torque could boost efficiency by an additional 10%, Ethan added. Ovil raised a valid concern about the cost-benefit ratio of implementing such intricate changes. Is it worth the investment for a mere 10% improvement? He questioned. Ethan nodded thoughtfully, acknowledging Ovil's point. While the immediate returns may seem modest, our goal is to achieve a prototype with an overall efficiency of 70%, Ethan replied. This prototype will serve as a benchmark for further refinement, allowing us to tailor the final product to meet customer demands and price points. Ovil nodded in satisfaction, impressed by Ethan's strategic vision and commitment to excellence. Keep up the good work, Ethan, he said, with a reassuring smile. I have full confidence in your ability to lead this project to success. Anything else you would like to add? Ethan puts on a big smile on his face and continues with his overview. Okay, another change that we suggest is that we use distributed windings or fractional slot windings in the core. These new techniques have been used over the industry with remarkable success. Moreover, we are still trying to improve the magnetic field strength by either introducing a better and stronger quality magnet or incorporate the electricity produced by the generator to increase magnetic strength by adding electromagnets. We will be ready with a design outline with these changes next week. Ovil was very impressed with all the progress this design team has achieved in a very short time. Ovil replied I am really looking forward to our meeting next week. Getting back to the reason for my visit today. Do you think you can accommodate just in your team for a few days? He would like to learn more about the designing process. I believe learning from the best, which is you, would be invaluable for him. Ethan could clearly see the flattery of Ovil. He was a very smart man. He replied if he's eager to learn, he's welcome to join us. However, it's important that he observes quietly and directs any questions to me directly without disturbing the team. I promise to respect that, just affirmed, eager to seize this opportunity to learn firsthand from the experts. Ovil and just leave the room and start walking towards the next one. Just was very intrigued by everything that he saw in the designing room. The array of tools and discussions in Ethan's workshop had sparked his curiosity, even though most of the technical discussions flew over his head. Yet, this was one of the most interesting visits so far. It's amazing to see how much thought and planning goes into designing something as complex as a generator. Just remarked. Is it okay if I start learning the product design first? Looks like a lot of interesting things are happening here. To which Ovil replied acknowledging just enthusiasm. Sure, all components of a goods-based business are linked with its products. Hence, it makes sense to first learn about the products and how they are designed. This knowledge will eventually lead you to understand the rest of the business operations. However, you still have time to make that decision. Right now, we are running late. We might not have enough time to meet everyone now. So, let's hurry. Ovil navigates just to the office room next to the designing workshop. The door of this office was open. Hence, Ovil did not knock on the door, but simply walked in and greeted. Hey, Cynthia. Good morning. Do you have a minute? I have a guest with me. This is Just Grey, Ovil gesturing toward Just. The office room was an airy space adorned with motivational posters and potted plants and Cynthia was a poised woman with a friendly demeanor. She looked up from her desk with a welcoming smile as Ovil introduced Just. Good morning, Ovil, and hi Just. Of course, I have a minute, Cynthia replied warmly, motioning for them to take a seat. Nice to meet you, Just. I heard from John that you might be visiting. Just returned the smile, feeling a bit overwhelmed by the warm reception. Thank you, Cynthia. It's a pleasure to meet you too. Ovil introduced Cynthia and her role in the business. Cynthia here is the head of HR. Her role is crucial because she's responsible for finding and nurturing talent, people who could contribute to our company's success. Just did not understand the importance and role of an HR. Why would Ovil hire someone to hire new people? He thought in his head. Unable to contain his curiosity, he asks, Why do we need to hire people to hire people? Especially, when they are already looking for jobs? Ovil chuckles a little seeing the innocence of Just. He clarifies, That is true, people are looking for jobs. However, I don't always have time to check and interview all the candidates applying for a job in my company and we are hiring multiple people every day. You will learn that hiring people is a very complex and time-consuming affair. So, she is here to test and interview the people and find the right people to work for this company. Secondly, hiring is only one part of the HR's responsibility. They are responsible for managing the employee relationships, performance management, fabricating compensation and benefits policies, training and development, developing an office culture, and developing other meaningful policies that impact the lives of people working for this business. Cynthia quickly chimes in, correcting Ovil, But it's not just about finding the right people for the business but a right fit for both the individual and the company. That's where the real magic happens. Curious to learn more, Just asked, How do you know who's the right fit? Cynthia smiled knowingly. It's a combination of factors like skills, experience, cultural fit, and potential for growth. We look for candidates who not only have the expertise we need but also align with our company values and vision. Ovil nodded in agreement. Having a strong team that works well together is essential for our success. Each person brings something unique to the table, and together, we're stronger. Suppose, if I was the only one working in this company, how would that look like? How much would I alone be able to accomplish? I am not an expert in product design. I need a professional product designer like Ethan. Similarly, I am not an expert when it comes to managing inventory in a warehouse. Hence, I need Bill. All these people together make this business. Just mind buzzed with newfound understanding. I never realized how much goes into building a team. It's like putting together a puzzle. Exactly, Cynthia exclaimed, pleased to see Just's enthusiasm. And every piece of the puzzle plays a crucial role in completing the picture. Feeling inspired by the conversation, Just nodded eagerly. He never thought of business like this. He thought, it was very important that he made some time to learn from Cynthia as well. Hence, full of conviction, he replied, All this is very exciting. I understand why HR is important for a business. There is a lot to learn here, and I am sure it will be very beneficial. Great to hear, Oval said, clapping just on the shoulder. Now, let's continue our tour. There's still so much to see. As Oval and Just finished chatting with Cynthia. It was almost time for lunch. They cannot meet anyone else, now. But don't worry Oval said. After lunch check with John. He will introduce you to the rest of the team. If for any reason, you need me, and I am not available or busy somewhere. You can always go to him. So, what do you want for lunch? Oval asked. As they exited the building and started walking towards Oval's car. Oval suggested, let's have some Mexican today. To which Just replied, sure, I love Mexican food. After their lunch was over and they both returned to the office. It was time for Oval and Just to say goodbye, as Oval had some meetings to attend. Just was instructed to meet John in his office. Right about now all the volunteers were also done with their lunch. Bella and Maya were the first ones to finish eating. They took this moment to regroup and strategize. Standing beneath the shade of a towering oak tree, the rustling leaves provided a soothing backdrop to their conversation. So, where should we start? Maya asked, flipping through a stack of flyers in her hands. Bella scanned the park, noting that the work at the park was done. Bella suggested, nothing else to do here at the park. Let's split up and cover as much ground as possible. I'll take the east side, and you can head west. We'll meet back here in three hours. Maya nodded, her expression determined. Got it. I'll focus on hitting up local businesses and community centers. Maybe we can set up a booth and engage people directly. Bella smiled, impressed by Maya's proactive approach. That sounds like a great idea. I'll target residential areas and parks, try to catch people while they're out and about. With a final exchange of nods, Maya and Bella set off in opposite directions, their hearts set on spreading the message of sustainability far and wide. As Bella made her way through the streets, she encountered a mix of reactions from the people she met. Some were receptive, eagerly taking flyers and asking questions about how they could get involved. Others seemed indifferent, barely sparing her a glance as they hurried past.
