A.J. Balbo believes that late-night talk shows are the best form of entertainment. He has always loved watching shows like The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, Conan O'Brien, Jon Stewart, Craig Ferguson, and even the oldies with Johnny Carson. When he was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes at seven years old, these shows helped him get through tough times by making him laugh. Even now, he uses them to escape and laugh when he's having a bad day. A.J. is studying film TV and journalism at Fordham because he's passionate about these shows and hopes to have the same impact on someone else someday. Hi, I'm A.J. Balbo, and I believe that late-night talk shows are the best form of entertainment. I've always loved staying up late to watch these shows. I'd watch The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, I remember Conan O'Brien, Jon Stewart, and I love Craig Ferguson. I even would go back and watch the oldies with Johnny Carson. When I was seven years old, I came down with type 1 diabetes, which really wasn't easy. What helped was late-night. Whenever I was having a tough time with any aspect of my life, these comedic heroes were there for me to make me laugh. Even now, whenever I have a bad day, I use these shows to escape and laugh for a little bit. These shows are what I'm passionate about, and why I'm studying film TV and journalism today at Fordham. I hope someday I could have the same impact on somebody that these comics had on me. Thank you.
