their son someday and name it or a dog just get a dog right how big is the tattoo is it an elbow kind of thing oh wow okay well yeah I mean there's good tattoo artists to cover it up the lessons would be to make sure the kids yours but then you don't really want to say that you've opened most people's children are there it's gonna or you just wait wait for the child he's born and then you'd be saying wait a second let's get this checked out I don't make people care as much I'm just gonna cover yeah laser it off yeah yeah that's a great plan yes what do you got well we like to celebrate the accomplishments accomplishments of the common person here on a show and there's a woman who really tried so she was going to a Shane Gillis show yes in Philadelphia comedian Shane Gillis and she decided to walk up the down escalator and the crowd cheered her on for a while she starts to wane with her effort of course in Philly she got about I don't know maybe five six steps from the top and just couldn't make it and then she just turned and sat down and then went up the up escalator how did she look like a person who could potentially make that show or no not at all I see no she looks like she hadn't done any physical activities in high school okay but good effort like she made a solid effort yeah like how many steps away from the top oh yeah here's Billy Idol and Shay 106 the big some bar show we have a phone line it's called the Dougie line the Dougie line you want to reach us 24 hours a day simple to do so 2 1 6 3 4 9 2 1 6 Dougie leave us a message Jamie goes family play twice a day James fellas upset and then things don't really go his way yeah this is about your useless station this is where I've been listening to for off and on for the last three weeks I couldn't imagine what it could possibly be we know what it is well they've been doing work on the transmitter from time to time the station goes down it's just static because they have to where we're improving technology technology has to be fixed sometimes like sometimes your car needs to go in for service the transmitter no different it hasn't been annoyingly long I will say from start to finish but I'm not sure if they're finished yet the CBC's fault yeah I would blame the CBC yeah I just don't understand that complete lack of understanding of how we've been talking about it a lot like it's not like it's a secret but I guess you know it's about your useless station this is where I've been listening to for off and on for the last three weeks Hi, so my birthday is October 21st, but my family, we went out to dinner on Sunday night to a nice restaurant on Elgin Street. So when we all left, I hopped in my car, and I was going to get on the Queensway, so I got on there, going east, and I noticed I had a flat tire, so I got off there and parked on Lees, the first parking spot that I'd seen. So, I was going to call CAA, but I couldn't read the address on the house, so I had, there's this guy coming out of the laneway there, so I told him what I wanted to do, and he said, well, no problem, we'll fix that for you. So I went in the house, got his dad, they came out and unloaded everything from my car, including my spare tire, installed it and everything else, loaded everything back in my car, and I was on my way. So, I just called to give a really grateful thank you and shout out to Dylan and his dad for their help. And, uh, it's not too often you receive that chivalry nowadays from a Denzel in distress. So, thank you so much, and, uh, take care. Bye. That's nice. A nice story. Very nice stuff on the Dougie line. Always like, yeah, this is about your useless station. So nice balance. Yeah, yeah, yeah. What's up, Chris? Oh, no, I didn't say it. Be nice. It's a nice story. What could you possibly not be nice about? It was lengthy. It wasn't that long. I thought it was a pretty concise story, especially from... From what? From who? What were you going to say, James? Yeah, what were you going to say? I'm a lady who had gone through quite an ordeal. Okay, alright. You know? It's nice to hear that things like that still happen. Yeah, it was nice. That's why I didn't want to poop on it. I don't know why he didn't call me out. Well, you kind of called yourself out. Because I stopped listening. Like ten seconds in, I've got to be honest. She has a speech pattern that just saves me right out of it. I was reading stuff. I was trying not to be a jerk. I couldn't even tell you what happened in the story. Couldn't even tell you. How the hell could you comment on it then? I didn't! I was sitting here quietly! You called me out! You refused to let me just sit here! You don't know what happened in her story? I have no idea what happened! I did not listen to her story. I phased out ten seconds in. It was like listening to an old lady at a bus stop. And I just stopped listening. And I started reading something and not paying attention. And then you just pulled me in and made me feel like a monster. It was a great story about how she rescued a bunch of puppies at the start of the road. I know that's not what happened. Because I heard that somebody helped her or something. Yeah, they helped her get out of the culvert. Oh, there you go. This is a great story. Yeah. The puppies getting out of the culvert. There were no puppies. No. Stop bringing puppies into this. I wouldn't listen if there were dogs involved. No, they helped her change her tire. Oh, okay. That's nice. See? Yeah. It is. That's why it's a very nice thing. She called it a damsel in distress. You guys were both saying how nice it was. So I just said, okay. It's a very nice story, yeah. People helping people. It's good. Yeah, it's great. I'm all for it. All for it. Want to play another one? Yeah, sure. Whatever. Hey, is it just me or does everybody, at least all the young kids, look exactly like Sideshow Bob now? I mean, have you checked out the haircut? I wouldn't call it Sideshow Bob. That's a little too springy. I think it's just you, man. No, I don't know. All the kids all have the same haircut. Yeah. I guess so. Yeah. Like how many kids on the hockey team use the same one? I think they're past it, though. Come on. That's it. Yeah. I think they're by it now. Oh, I see. Like two years ago, for sure. Once that guy started to notice it, it was not happening. Yeah, it was already not happening. It's a real old-sounding thing to do, to hate on young people's haircuts. Yeah, just let them be. If you all had dumb haircuts, we all did. We all wore stupid things. We all had ridiculous fashions. I mean, just let it be. Let the kids be kids. It is funny, your point of how it was cool until that guy noticed. Yeah. We were like 7 or 8. For some reason, whenever a guy would be like talking to a girl at recess, the rest of the guys would go, Ooh, he likes it. And I don't know why. Anyway, so then you didn't want to get that yelled. One fateful day, our teacher saw a guy talking to a girl, and our teacher went, Ooh, he likes it. And no one ever did it again. It was never spoken until this day. Do you want to retry, Dougie Lon? It's 2-1-6-3-4-9 or 2-1-6, Dougie? It's 2-1-6, Dougie. The Dougie line. Ottawa's answering machine. Leave a message. You want the city to hear. Call 6-1- Do almost Pinecrest there. And then a second time from Carling to Bud Island Park. So briefly busy. Headed downtown on the eastbound 417. Eastbound Hunt Club is slow at Pinecrest right now. The westbound 417's got no such issues. The westbound 174, though heavy, from, Ooh, out beyond Tenth Line. So just after Trim, all the way into Placer-Le-Hen. In Gatineau, the westbound 56 from La Verandrie, right down to Saint-Louis, and getting quite backed up, approaching the McDonnell-Cartier Bridge, taking that ramp from the 50. The other bridges seem fine. I'm back in 10 minutes. OK, thank you. David Giroux from the Newsroom. The Ontario Legislature is back today for, uh, after an extended summer break, with Premier Doug Ford making an array of announcements and remarks during that time, like building a tunnel under the 401, restricting where bike lanes are built, and potentially sending all Ontarians a $200 check. Today, on The Current. Our system must be orderly and secure. And that is my goal. And that is my goal. With just over two weeks until the U.S. election, Matt Galloway is in the swing state of Arizona, at the border, where questions around immigration and the border with Mexico are top of mind for many voters. That's on The Current. This morning at 8.37, 9.07 in Newfoundland, and on the CBC Listen app. This is World Report. Good morning. I'm Marcia Young. It is Election Day in New Brunswick. Hi. Hi. Hi.
