Welcome to Five Guys in a Mic, a podcast where we dive into the most chilling and intriguing cases in true crime history. We're our hosts. Eddie. Yair. This is Saul. And Enrique. And today we're going to dive into a chilling case involving the tragic deaths of five individuals in a small town in Illinois caused by a nine-year-old boy. Saul. On the morning of April 6th, 2019, in a small town on the coast of Illinois, a fire broke out in a mobile home. Firefighters rushed to the scene and battled the blaze, but tragically, five people lost their lives that day. Among the victims were a one-year-old, two two-year-olds, a 34-year-old man, and a 69-year-old woman. The fire was later determined to be the result of an arson. As investigators went through the burned remains of the home, they made a shocking discovery. The fire had been initially set, and the person responsible was none other than the nine-year-old boy, Kyle Alwood. Kyle, who was the son of one of the victims, indicated that he had any involvement in starting the fire. After further questioning, he admitted to setting the blaze with a lighter. To understand the full story, we need to go back to the beginning. Kyle was born on April 26th, 2009, in Portland, Illinois, to his father, T.A.O., and his father, Jason Paul. According to those who knew him, Kyle was a quiet and reserved child, often keeping to himself. But as Kyle grew older, his behavior began to change. He was often seen wandering the neighborhood alone and getting into trouble at school. Some even described him as a troubled child who struggled to fit in. This is where they ended up, the police officers. Is it terrible? As the investigation into the fire continues, one question remains. What will happen to Kyle Alwood? Will he face charges for allegedly involved in the fire, or will he receive help and support? He needs to overcome this past trauma. As investigators continue to piece together the events of the fateful night, they discovered that Kyle had allegedly started the fire in his bedroom using a lighter. But what could have driven the 9-year-old boy to commit such a horrific act? This is where, yeah, you're in any interview with this O'Holly. While the motive may never be understood, one thing is certain. The fire has a devastating impact on the community, and wherever it turns around, those involved. To gain a better understanding of how the community has been affected by this tragedy, we spoke with... Hi, Mr. President. As the investigation into the fire continues, one question remains.
