The transcription is about a church service where the speaker talks about the rain, the upcoming hot weather, and the presence of the Lord to bring healing and freedom. Announcements were made regarding VBS registration, Women of the Word date change, and a gentleman's ordination. The speaker leads the congregation in prayer and worship, emphasizing freedom in Christ. The congregation sings and praises the Lord for their freedom and deliverance from chains. The main message is about finding freedom and praising the name of Jesus. Good morning, good morning, good morning, New Journey Church. How many people are excited to be here this morning? Amen, amen, amen. Some of you all might have had to come in on a kayak or a raft, but it's okay. It's okay. We needed that rain. Amen. And I bet you anything, by the end of this week, you all are going to be praying for these cool temperatures and this rain, because it's going to get hot. But guess what? It's going to get hot in here today because the Lord is in here, he's moving, and he's looking to break somebody's chains this morning. So if you've come in here this morning looking for a healing, it is here. If you've come in here looking to lay something down that's been weighing you down, it is here because the living Savior is moving around this room this morning looking to bring somebody closer to him. Amen. Amen. But I have a few announcements this morning, and then we're going to get right into it. And we've got a big day today. We've got an ordination of a gentleman this morning that's been called into the ministry, and I'm really excited to see what's going to happen in his life. It's going to be amazing. But if you haven't noticed, when you walked in the door, we have VBS coming up July 20-23, and now it is open for registration. So if you have a grandkid, if you have a kid, if you have just somebody, a neighborhood kid in your neighborhood that wants to come to VBS, hand them this. Let them scan it because we want to see a lot of children come in here to this VBS because we need to get the light of Jesus out to these young people that definitely need it, because this is a dark, dark world, and this might be some of the only Jesus they see is when they come into this room. So it's going to be a lumination station July 20-23, and the QR code, if you want to sign up, you scan that, sign right up, and we'll get you going. And because of VBS, the Women of the Word have moved their date, and it's going to be July the 28th is going to be the next Women of the Word. So and there's going to be also No Joshua Men's for the month of July because of everything we have going on. But that's all the announcements I have. If you would, please stand. Lord, thank you for this amazing day. Lord, just thank you for blessing us to get up, to come to your house, to give you the praise, glory, and honor because you are worthy of it all, Lord. And I just pray right now that the sound of my voice, if there's somebody in this room that does not know you, today will be the day of salvation. Today will be the day that you come into their life and change their life for eternity, Lord. And I pray that if anybody has anything going on, today will be the day they lay it down at this altar and never pick it up again because, Lord, you are worthy of it all. And we give you the praise, glory, and honor. Amen. Good morning. How are you all this morning? You excited to praise the Lord? Amen. How many of you are thankful for your freedom in Christ this morning? Amen. Hallelujah. I know it's a month of freedom we're getting ready to come into, celebrating our country, we need to celebrate every day our freedom in Christ. Hallelujah. We need to walk in freedom. Today we're going to thank God for that freedom. Are you all ready? Let's do it. Let's thank the Lord. You all go in and worship with us. I'm shaking off the heaviness, I'm dancing out of my regret, I'm throwing caution to the wind. Oh, I am not ashamed to praise thy name. Some would say it's foolishness, but I would say it's worth the risk. Oh, I can't forget what Jesus did. Oh, I am not ashamed to praise thy name. Where are those chains that once held me? I'm free, I'm free, I'm free, I'm free, my freedom. I'm free, I'm free, I'm free, my freedom. I'm free, I'm free, I'm free, my freedom. I'm free, I'm free, I'm free, my freedom. You are a son. You are royalty. Tell yourself that. Amen. You are a son. You are royalty. You are royalty. You are now. I'm on. I'm not on. I'm on. I'm on. Okay. I just got to say it loud. Okay. My name is Susie Bradley. I'm here representing Quilts of Freedom, which is a local quilters group that makes quilts for veterans. I was with the leader of our group this past, well, a week ago or so, and we were talking about how many quilts do you think we've made since we started, which we did start in December of last year. And we were talking about how many quilts do you think we've made since we started, which we did start in December of last year. And we were talking about how many quilts do you think we've made since we started, which we did start in December of 2017. She said, well, we're working close to 500 quilts now. Wow. Praise the Lord. So we've been able to distribute quilts to veterans and active service members, and we are honored this morning to be able to do that again. We have an active service member this morning, and as Zach Miller would come up here, he's going to talk a little bit about that. He's going to talk a little bit about quilts. He's going to talk a little bit about quilts. He's going to talk a little bit about quilts. He's going to talk a little bit about quilts. He's going to talk a little bit about quilts. He's going to talk a little bit about quilts. He's going to talk a little bit about quilts. He's going to talk a little bit about quilts. He has been stationed in Korea, and after a very brief time here in Atlanta, he's going to be going to Fort Carson, Colorado. So Zach, we're going to give you this quilt. You can take it with you to Colorado. You may need it up there. It could be cold. Yes. Wanda, do you want to take a picture of him or somebody? We usually wrap it around you, and I know, but yeah, we'll do it. All right. Thank you, Zach, for your service. Yes, amen. Zach just came back from South Korea. That's not far from one of the most hostile areas in the world, North Korea. So remember him in prayer and all of our military members as they are. We're in at least 150 countries that I know. So remember our active servicemen and women as they put their lives on the line every day. If you get a chance, shake his hand, hug his neck, let him know you appreciate him, and I'm sure he's going to do the same for you. So remember him in prayer and all of our military members as they are. We're in at least 150 countries that I know. So remember our active servicemen and women as they put their lives on the line every day. If you get a chance, shake his hand, hug his neck, let him know you appreciate him, and as we're praying for him, and we'll continue to do that, praise the Lord. All right, so here's what we're going to do now. We are just going to, well, I'll tell you what, bring that baby up here. Yes. And we've got another young man here serving active duty as well, so praise the Lord. Go in this precious church. Sister Jenny, you can come on up, too. Oh, I know. Praise the Lord. Remember the little one's first name again? Bonnie. All right. Praise the Lord. I am going to anoint you first, brother. God bless you. And sister, I'm going to anoint you second. All right, let's dedicate this baby to the Lord. I want you to extend your hands this way, and just as I pray aloud, pray a prayer, because God hears those prayers. One of the greatest blessings you'll ever give this family and give Bonnie is prayer. Lord, the Word says that all good and perfect gifts come from above, and Lord, we know that's where Bonnie came from. And Lord, you blessed this couple with this precious little child. Lord, really, she's your child, dear God, and we know the origin of all life is heaven. But Lord, we know that there's a wonderful couple here that just welcomed this baby and loving this baby and spoiling this baby, grandma spoiling this baby, and all the family around her just spoiling this little one. So we just want to dedicate Bonnie to you, dear God. We want to dedicate her to you now, because Lord, we know that she's got a whole life out ahead of her. So we want to pray for health. We want to pray for wealth and favor and prosperity. We pray, dear God, as she grows, she just grows in grace, Lord Jesus, and just becomes that little girl that you have made her to be and that young woman and woman, Lord Jesus, because even though we don't see that right now, you do. And so right now, we dedicate her. We set her aside, and Lord, we pray over mom and dad here that they'll be faithful, dear God, to you and faithful to her to keep her under the preaching and teaching of the Word, dear God. And Lord, if they'll find a good house of worship there where she can grow up, Lord, through the teaching, we'll talk more about it in just a few minutes. But Lord, we just know we call babies a bundle of joy, and they truly are a bundle of joy. And we know they just change our lives in so many ways, and we understand that it really ain't about us. It's about someone else, and especially we put our children first in these infant stages and even as they grow older. But we pray for the couple that you'll keep them strong, strong in the Lord and the power of your might, dear God. We bless them right now in the name of Jesus. You know what they need more than we do, dear God. We bless our brother, he's in the military as well, that you'll keep him safe and be with him if he has to take a shipment someplace, that you'll watch over him and keep him. And we pray for his precious wife, Lord, as she's right here beside of him. And so Lord, right now we just ask you to do that mighty work in them and through them as only you can do. And once again, we thank you for Bonnie. Oh, what a blessing, Lord Jesus. I just see that precious little face right now. What a blessing she is, dear God. And we thank you for her. And we ask all of this in Jesus' name, and all of God's children said, Amen. Praise the Lord. Thank you all. It's an honor. Praise God. Well, once again, church, God is great. And all the time. God is awesome. Amen? If God is awesome, that makes you awesome, right? You may not see yourself that way, so look at that person next to you and tell them, I'm awesome. Because God is awesome. Amen. Amen. Now, don't some of you take advantage of that, all right? I know you are already, so don't take advantage of that. And so what I want you to do right now, I want you to open up your Bibles and I want you to look with me first in the book of Mark chapter 9, verse number 42. And then we're going to jump over to chapter 10 of Mark, verses 13 through 16. And we're going to begin a charge that we're going to give to Brother Keegan and Lauren, who will soon be his wife, as they start their ministry as pastors. And so it says in Mark chapter 9, verse 42, And whosoever shall offend one of these little ones that believe in me, it is better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and he were cast into the sea. So we see in Scripture that God takes it very serious on how that we take care of our children as well as minister to other children that are placed within our care. As you jump over to chapter 10, verses 13 through 16, it says, And they brought young children to him, that's Jesus, that he should touch them. And his disciples rebuked those that brought them, but when Jesus saw it, he was much displeased with his disciples, and said unto them, Suffer, little children, to come unto me, and forbid them not, for of such is the kingdom of God. Verily I say unto you, Whosoever shall not receive the kingdom of God as a little child, he shall not enter therein. And he took them up in his arms, put his hands upon them, and blessed them. Let's pray. Thank you, Lord, for your sweet Spirit that is among us right now. Precious Holy Spirit, continue to touch hearts and touch lives and draw people closer to you. Precious Holy Spirit, awaken people, cause their ears to hear and their eyes to see and their hearts to understand. Precious Holy Spirit, for that one that's here that does not know you, draw them. Give them that Holy Ghost unction that they'll come to the Lord Jesus and be saved, that they'll understand that the Lord is not a respecter of persons, the ground is level at the foot of the cross, and that it doesn't matter what we've done, it matters what Jesus did, and that we're sinned and abound, graced and much more bound. And so, Lord, as we're about to ordain Brother Keegan and also anoint Sister Lauren into this ministry, we want to give them a charge. This is a charge that you've given me to them as their pastor, because, Lord, now they're going to be under another pastor. They're at freedom. You said in the Word, if we want to be in leadership, we have got to be under leadership. But you also said, of much given, much is required. That once we take that step of faith in the ministry, of much given, much is required. So help us to preach this Word in power, help it to be received in power, and help it be ministered through them in power. In Jesus' name we pray, and all of God's children said, Amen. So most of you know, I like looking at statistics, because statistics tell you a lot, and especially about where something is heading. So this is the most current statistics that I have that I've taken off of the computer. It says statistics show that the vast majority of people come to faith in Jesus during childhood and adolescence. Studies from the Barna Group, Child Evangelism Fellowship, and International Bible Society indicate that roughly 70-83% make their commitment to Jesus before reaching adulthood. There is a window that's called the 4-14 window, which indicates that children between the ages of 4 and 14 are the most receptive with 63% of decisions occurring during that age span. Now I'm going to say that, Brother Keegan, Sister Ormez, I want to say it. The 4-14 window indicates that children between the ages of 4 and 14 are the most receptive with 63% of decisions occurring during that life span or age span. Ninety-five percent of young adults, 18 to 30, have surrendered to Jesus by age 30. Only 5-6% of believers come to faith after age 30. I'm going to say that again. Only 5-6% of believers come to faith after age 30. So, here are some important truths to remember in your ministry, and I want to give these to you. And I'll give you a copy of this. But this is not only for Brother Keegan and Sister Ormez, it's for everybody. So you heard those statistics, right? So moms and dads, the very first person that normally leads their child to the Lord is you. Statistics show that it's the parents are the ones that lead their children to the Lord the first. And so it's so important and imperative that you keep your children under the preaching and teaching of God's Word. Not only with what you're sharing with them at home, and I hope you are, sharing with them the Gospel, the Good News, the Word, I mean, telling them those Bible stories. You know, you do a lot of preparing your children for Sunday school and our youth group so that when they come here, they already know the story. But you'd be surprised how many kids we get in this church that have never heard most basic of stories like Noah and the ark, like David and Goliath. Stories that we heard when we were younger, but yet we take for granted. So moms and dads, I know your life is busy. My life is busy. But one thing I've learned over the years is this, you and I do what we want to do. We really do what we want to do. If we want to go out shopping, we'll make it happen. If we want to go buy a gun, we'll make it happen. If we want to go up to a family reunion, we'll make it happen. We do what we want to do. So if we really want our children to know about Jesus, we'll make it happen. We will do that. And so I applaud you in the church that are doing it. And for you that are not, then it's time to implement that in your family life at home. Statistics show that. So here's some important truths that I want to give to you, Brother Keegan. Number one, love God and neighbor. The Bible teaches us in Mark 12, verses 28-31, where to me, Jesus took the Ten Commandments and He condensed them into two. Into two. And this is what it says, And one of the scribes came, and having heard them reasoning together, and perceiving that He had answered them well, asked Him, What is the first commandment of all? And Jesus answered him, The first of all the commandments is, Hear, O Israel, the Lord our God is one Lord. Hear, the Bible says, And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, with all thy soul, with all thy mind, and with all thy strength. This is the first commandment. And you know, I've used that little word, all, over the years, and most of you have heard me use the definition that God gave me for all. But all simply means all. That's what it means. All means all, and that's all all means, and that's all you're ever going to get out of the word, all. It means all. So we're to love the Lord thy God, and it gives us four different ways. Number one, we are to love Him with our heart. See, the real person that you are is not your outer image, but it's your heart. God knows your heart. God knows if you love Him, if you don't love Him. God knows your heart. That's the innermost part of your being. And part of your soul is your heart. And so we think about this, He loves us with all of our heart, but then all of our mind. And what does that mean, brother? Do you think on Jesus? Do you meditate upon the Lord? Do you memorize Scriptures? Do you sing gospel songs? Or is your mind only upon God when you come to church? Is your mind only upon God when you're going through a hardship? Is your mind only upon God when you're just doing your devotion? The Bible says that God needs to be a part of every part of our day, all of our day. We're to love Him with our mind. The Bible says, let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus. Jesus said this, He said, I and the Father are one. He said, I don't do anything unless I see the Father do it first. So how could He see the Father do it? He walked on earth, the Father was in heaven. They were in connection. God was revealing to Him what He needed Him to do and wanted Him to do. But it says your soul, which is your mind, your will, your emotion. So I want to focus on the word will. We do what we want to do. Did you hear that? So you've got to have the want to. You've got to have the want to, to love God, to serve God. Because I'm going to tell you, if it hasn't happened yet, there's going to come times in your life that you will not love God very much. You might not even like God very much. And the thing about it is, is that, see, when everything is going good, we're okay. But when things go bad, we blame God. We don't blame ourselves. We don't blame the devil, even though he'll take that glory. But the biggest problem that you and I have is ourself. And I know that some of you in here right now have problems in your mind. That's where depression and anxiety and worry and fear all come from. The Bible says that we're to take every thought captive, is what the Word of God says. So we need God in our mind. We need God. If you want to look to the world the way God sees the world, then you have to look at it through the lens of Scripture. And you have to put the Word of God in that helps the world become more clear in exactly what it is and where it's at and where it's headed. The Bible says, "...Love not the world, nor the things that are in the world." But not only with our heart, our mind, but with our strength. I think about that coming over this morning. This is what popped in my mind, and I'm a pastor, right? I want everybody to be at church. I do. But I wonder how many people couldn't get up out of bed, take a shower, get ready for church because it was raining outside. Now, before you start judging, how many times have you done the very same thing? Amen? I mean, think about this. It's a battle to come to church on a Sunday morning. It's a battle to come to Wednesday night prayer meeting and Bible study. It isn't because you can't come. It's because you choose not to come. You're getting home in time to get ready and come to church, but you're making up all kinds of excuses why you shouldn't or couldn't be here. I'm telling you statistics about your children. Then your children should be in youth. Somebody better say, Amen to me! Your children should be in youth. And under the preaching and teaching of God's Word, you never miss a ball game. You never miss drama. You never miss these other events. But youth always gets left on the back burner. And if it works out, and if I feel okay, and if I'm not tired when I get home, we'll go to youth. Whoo! Good preaching, Holy Ghost! That's the truth of the matter. So you have to have a will. You've got to have strength to overcome the weakness of the flesh, overcome the desires of the flesh, and rise above it. Because how many times have I heard, Jeff, I wasn't even going to come to church today, I wasn't even going to come to church tonight. But I'm so glad I did, because God gave me something tonight that they would have missed if they stayed at home. See, I believe God's got something for everybody when they come through the church door. Everybody! No matter where you're at in your relationship or walk with God, God has something for you. Now, I don't know about you, but if God's got something for me, I want it. I don't want you to have it. Maybe that's being selfish of me. I want it. If God's got something for me, I want it. And so listen to me, the Word says that in the last days there will be a falling away of the church. It means falling away of truth. And then we become lovers of pleasures, more than lovers of God. And we see that evident in our culture. So you're going to have to use your body and the strength that's in your body to serve the Lord. You're going to have to use it. There's times you're not going to want to do things, but listen, remember, it's not about you. It's about the Lord. And can I tell you that when you stand before God and if you've not been good and you've not been faithful, you will not hear these words, Well done, thou good and faithful. You won't hear that. You might say, I'm glad you're here. Welcome in. But let's talk about your goodness and let's talk about your faithfulness for just a little bit. Because the Bible says it's appointed unto man once to die and then after this, what happens? The judgment of God. And I'm thankful that one day when I stand before God, I'll be judged by grace and not wrath. So we love God first, but then we love our neighbor. We love our neighbor, so Brother Keegan, you've got to love God first. Then you've got to love your neighbor. Well, guess what? People have a fantasy about ministry until they try it. And then they find out that ministry is a lot of work because people have a lot of problems. And see, our God is a people person, but we live in a world full of people and people got problems, so that fantasy of ministry goes away real, real quick when they start calling you on the phone, when they start asking you for money. I mean, it goes away real, real quick when you find out that people got problems. But see, in ministry, Brother Keegan, God's called us to help them with their problems. Not to kick them to the side, but to help them with their problems. So we've got to love our neighbors. In your case, that you'll be working with children. You're going to be working with all kinds of children. And here's the thing about children. Children will tell you if there's problems at the house. Personally, I believe that's the reason why they probably don't bring them to youth groups. Because they don't want nobody to know that there's a problem at home. But children will tell you. And when you hear some of the stories, but I also know this, children have a fallen nature. They'll also lie to you. Point blank, face to face, they'll tell you a lie. And then you need discernment on whether that's true or that's not true. But then also, you'll need discernment. Do I follow this up with the pastor, or tell the pastor, or talk to the family? I mean, it's learning to operate in the power of the Holy Spirit, the discerning of the Holy Spirit. Love God and neighbor, the Bible teaches us. So once again, Mark 12, 28 through 31. I don't think I finished my Scripture there. And second is like namely this, Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself. There is none other commandment greater than these. Now, I've hung around with a lot of y'all. And here's what I've found out. Y'all like yourself really well. That's just the truth of it. Y'all like yourself really, really well. Amen or oh me. Amen or oh me. There's nothing wrong with you liking yourself really well, just not too much. That you become your own God, and God is not your God. Then you become your own idol. Because see, there's times we become our own idol. So we love God, and we love our neighbor. Number two, 2 Timothy 4, 1 through 5 says this, I charge thee therefore before God and the Lord Jesus Christ, you shall judge the quick and the dead at His appearing and His kingdom. Preach the Word, be instant in, season out of season, reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine. For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine, but after their own lusts shall they heap themselves teachers having itching ears. And they shall turn away their ears from the truth and shall be turned unto fables. Verse 5, but watch down all things, endure afflictions, do the work of revenge, and make full proof of thy ministry. So number two, give them what they need, not what they want. Give them what they need, not what they want. Because see the thing in our churches today, people shop for churches like they do a new suit or a new car. And they're looking for churches that will give them what they want and not what they need. And if they put themselves under a preacher that's given them some solid preaching truth from the Word of God, often at times they're living in sin and or a family member is living in sin. They don't want to deal with it or they don't want to feel like that the preacher is browbeating them, so to speak. And so rather than sit under the teaching, I'll just find someplace else to go. Give them what they need, not what they want. The Bible teaches us that in the Old Testament Jesus is concealed. But in the New Testament Jesus is revealed. Give them the whole Word of God. The Bible says in the Scriptures we are to be in season and out of the season. And I think that in the interview, Brother Kagan, it was shared with you that you are a youth pastor whether you are on duty or not. You are a youth pastor when someone calls you at 11 or 12 o'clock at night, and I know that's when a lot of kids are up. See, they have an endurance young like we used to have. We don't have anymore. I mean, we want to go to bed at 11. Right? We don't want anybody to interrupt our beauty sleep. Well, if you're calling it beauty sleep, I can tell you it ain't working for most of you. Amen? But the thing about it is, and that child will wait until the last minute to call you at midnight to tell you they've got a problem. And guess what? Give them what they need and not what they want. Tell them the truth, because the truth will make them free. That's what the Word teaches us in Scriptures. So the Bible says we're to be instant in season, but always out of season. When we come to church, we're prepared. When we come to church, we've studied the Scriptures. When we come to church, we've put together a lesson plan. But when people catch us, and it's not in season, when a child catches you and it's not in season, the Bible says you've got to be instant. That's the reason why it's so important that you need to know the Word of God. You've got to read the Word, study the Word, meditate upon the Word, memorize the Word, so that when they ask you for advice, they don't need your opinion. They need the Word. It's the Word that, once again, makes them free. The Bible says we reprove, we rebuke and exhort. And I look at that Scripture, there's three things that's mentioned. Two of them we would look at kind of negatively. We don't want to be reproved. We don't want to be rebuked. We just want to be lifted up. But God says, I'm to reprove, I'm to rebuke, and I'm to exhort. And so, you know, like I told you earlier, Brother Keegan, is this, you know, we've been your pastor for a long time, and you've been a wonderful blessing to us. But since we've been your pastor, we consider you to always be our pastor. So I'm going to encourage you, but I'm also going to jerk a knot in your tail if you get out of line. Number three, they need a pastor more than a friend. They need a pastor more than they need a friend. The Bible teaches us in Jeremiah 3, verse number 15. Jeremiah 3, verse number 15. I like that Scripture because I'm March 15th. And I will give you pastors according to mine heart, which shall feed you with knowledge and understanding. So see, we understand according to the Scriptures that the fivefold gift of the ministry found in the book of Ephesians chapter number 4, they are a gift from the Lord Jesus Christ to the church. See, the gifts of the Spirit found in 1 Corinthians chapter number 12, those are gifts that come from the Holy Spirit. But the fivefold gift of the ministry, which is teacher, preacher, pastor, evangelist, prophet, and apostle, those are all gifts from the Lord Jesus Christ to His church. And they are to edify and they are to equip. They are... The main responsibility of New Journey Church is this. We go out and evangelize. We tell people about Jesus out there. We don't wait until they come in here to tell about Jesus. We tell about Jesus out there so that maybe we can win them. Maybe we can lead them to church. And when they come to church, then we tell them more about Jesus. We teach them about Jesus. We teach them about the Word. We build them up. Why? So they can go back out there and evangelize. And most of our evangelization comes when we minister to our family, to our friends and our neighbors, our co-workers, when we invite them to church. But like I told you before, I want you to give them... Once again, they don't need... They need a pastor more than they need a friend. And I know that Jesus is a friend that's thicker, closer than a brother. And I know that we want to be friends with the people that we are pastoring, but there needs to always be a line drawn. I'll be your friend, but I'm your pastor first. Because there's going to come a time that I'm going to have to be a pastor to you, and you may not like me as your friend. But see, just because I'm your pastor and I tell you the truth... The Bible says, am I your enemy because I tell you the truth? I'm not your enemy. I'm for you, not against you. And I say that for this reason. We will give an account for the position that we're in. The Word that we preach, the Word that we teach, the Word that we speak to people that's under our care. If God is not a respectful person, we can't be either. And what that means is this. The kid may be popular in school, but that doesn't mean they have to be popular in the class to take it over. To take it over. See, there has to be a fine line drawn there. See, when children come to the house of God and when they get under the teaching, number one, pastors need to have servants' hearts. We're there to serve them, to help them. But pastors also have giving hearts. But pastors also have Christlike compassion. A deep sense of calling and a protective spirit. Compassion. And I realize with this being your first group that you'll be a pastor to, give them that compassion. But don't forget your deep sense of your calling. Your first and foremost allegiance is to God. It's to the Lord. And then that protective spirit. We, as a pastor, we want to protect our people. And, you know, folks don't really understand unless they've ever been a pastor. But if you've ever taken a group of people under your wing and you've helped them, and you saw them grow, and then all of a sudden they just disappear, you worry. You worry. I mean, you eat, sleep, and drink it. I mean, you wonder where they're at. You wonder what's happening to them. And what really hurts is when you find out that they're no longer where they need to be with the Lord. I mean, they've got off track. I mean, they're allowing things back in their life that they had gotten out, but now they're allowing them back in again. And you still have that protective spirit that you want to provide and protect them. You know, but also, don't forget your limitations. You know, we're limited in how far we can go, is what I'm telling you, with people. And so, once again, they need a pastor more than they'll need a friend. And if being that pastor to them causes them not to like you or be your friend, you've got to be okay with that. Because, yeah, I see a problem today in our homes. Parents are too busy trying to be a friend rather than being a parent. And a parent needs to come first. You've got to make some tough decisions. You've got to make some tough calls. That's all part of it, right? They need a parent more than they need a friend at home. And so I think about, Brother Keegan, your position. See, I never served officially as a youth pastor, but I worked with kids growing up. And we drove the bus. We taught Sunday school. We had vacation Bible study. We had vacation Bible school. And we worked with a lot of children over the years. And it always blesses our heart that at different places... Like, we were in Danville on Friday, and a young woman now, but she was a young... She was... Well, we was there when she was born, and we watched her grow up. And we kind of kept track of her. She's had some struggles. She's had some struggles. But she's on her way back, and she's been going back to church with her grandma. That blessed my heart so much to hear that. But the thing that she did is she hollered at me from across the aisle. She said, Hey, Brother Jeff! And then she ran up and gave me a hug. And to be honest with you, it took a few minutes for me to remember. Anybody else have that problem? I mean, my horse ain't running around the track as fast as it used to. Man, sometimes it gets there. Sometimes it has to take a second loop, but it gets there. But then I remembered, and I saw, and I said, How are you doing? And then this is me. Had you been behaving? You know they're going to lie to me or tell me the truth, right? So she said, I've been doing better. And she has been. She had a friend with her. I said, I'm going to ask you, is she doing better? She said, Yes, she's doing better. That was a blessing to me. And so, see, even though he wasn't officially a youth pastor, we've had kids under our ministry the whole time. And I feel like that I've become their grandparent. I feel like for some of them, I've become their great-grandparents. You know, we've been in it that long now. And if I've acted in my life and made my life better, then God helped me to make their life better. Because, see, I stand up on the promises of the Scripture. God's Word will not return void. So if I get the opportunity to minister to kids to any age, then I know that God's Word will not return void. Then I know that God's Word works and God's Word will minister to them. And I know that there's times I get around kids I feel out of touch because, you know, I don't know what they're contending with today like I used to. So I have to be informed normally by someone that has that frontline type of ministry. And so like we shared with you earlier, Brother Keegan, you've got to be listening. You've got to be perceptive because the enemy's out to steal, kill, and destroy you. And if he can get that child off track early, then the enemy will have that child for a large portion of its life. Because remember what the Scriptures say, train up a child and when he's old, that means there's going to be some age. So the statistics show a lot of young people, they don't lose their salvation, but they leave their walk with Christ as far as being that Christian that they need to be. And then later on, God brings them back. Because God's Word doesn't return void. And so any time I get that opportunity, I love it and appreciate it. So I want to conclude with this. With this knowledge, the Bible says in Luke 12, 48, this is the parable of the good steward. And I've already said it, that of much given, much is required. Of much given, much is required. Don't ever forget we are taking care of God's heritage, God's children, God's sheep. They belong to the Lord. They belong to the Lord. And so, that's your charge. Not complicated, but very simple. You keep God first. You keep God first. You love Him with all your heart, your mind, your soul, and your strength. Then all these other things are going to fall into place. All these other things. So I want you to come forward, and we're going to ordain you. We're going to anoint you. Give me two chairs to enter on the floor, please. Somebody get me two chairs. You know, when Keegan was young, he got saved, and we were able to see that and to be a part of that. When he surrendered to his call to ministry, we were also able to be a part of that and want a great joy. As we've observed him, he's grown, you know, learning to play a guitar. Now he's playing a keyboard, and he just continues to grow. When we ask him and Lorne questions about him, when we ask him and Lorne questions back there a few minutes ago, I think all of us were just really blessed. They've done such a wonderful job, and we're so appreciative of them. But I always like to do this on Sunday mornings because I don't know who God's dealing with out there. And there may be another young person out there right now that God is speaking to about going into ministry. And if God is speaking to your heart about going into ministry, then we want you to come and talk to us. We want to help you as best we can. And the first thing we want to do is we want to identify if that's really a call that God has upon your life. And that's really what God wants you to do. And to help you find that out. But then after that's found out, we want you to pursue it. So we want to encourage you to pursue that. So, New Journey, you know this young man. You know Sister Lorne. They've been a blessing to us for a long, long time. You know Dad and Mom, Deacon Deaconess here at the church. Remember them in your prayers. The greatest gift that you'll ever give them is the gift of prayer. And if they come to you for counsel or advice, they don't need your opinion. They need what thus saith the Lord. And so what I want to do is I want to anoint him. And so for the other preachers that are in the house, the other preachers in the house, I want you to come up here. You've been called to preach. You've been ordained, set aside to preach. I want you to come forward. Brother Robert, would you come on up here? Now, I'm calling you all forward because you all know what he's doing and the call of faith that he's stepping in. So when I anoint him in prayer, then we're going to anoint him and we're going to pray over him. And then I want us to gather around him and pray. But then I want you to come forward. And then I want us to gather around him and pray. But then I want the other leadership of the church to come behind the preachers and pastors that are up here and say a prayer as well. I want you to come. So gather around, preachers. Ms. Edwards, come on up here. You touched Sister Lauren. If you're a pastor and your wife is here, preacher and your wife is here, she can come up too. She understands what the ministry, a woman in ministry with her husband is like. In the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, we bless you both. And officially this day, the 28th of June, 2026, we ordain you and set you aside for the ministry, the Christian gospel ministry of the Lord Jesus Christ. We set you aside as pastors. Brother Keegan, you're starting as a youth pastor, but you may move into a lead pastor. And so we set you aside for when those days come and those opportunities present itself, you'll be ready to step through. Lord, right now in the name of Jesus, we anoint Brother Keegan. We anoint Lauren who will be getting married to him here in just a few months. And Lord, we set this young man aside. Lord, in his calling, in his ministry, as a pastor, dear God, Lord, next week you'll be back at Freedom and he'll be leading that group of young kids and he'll be finding out more about them. And Lord, they're beginning to get to know him and him to know them. And Lord, you'll give him a plan of approach, a plan on how he needs to serve and what he needs to do to help that program become all that it needs to be. And Lord, we know the pastor's excited. Lord, the church is excited about what You're doing in him, dear God, and what You're doing in this young couple, Lord, and what You're going to do, Lord Jesus. And so Lord, we love them down there, dear God. We love that church, those people. They helped us build this building, Lord. And we praise You for that. So right now we anoint our brother in the name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and our Savior, for the gospel ministry. A much-given, much is required. Lord, and the apostle Paul said this, once you put your hands... or Jesus said this, once you put your hands to the bow, don't look back. Keep moving forward. But Lord, help him to remember it's a plow. That means it's work. It's work. So Lord, we pray, fill him with the Holy Spirit right now. Fill Sister Lauren with the Holy Spirit right now, dear God, for the task, the task at hand, Lord Jesus. Lord, may they always love You first, and then they love their family second, and then their ministry falls down that list, Lord, a few more spots. So it's our honor, dear God, to anoint them and set them aside right now in Jesus' name. Amen. Amen. Praise the Lord. Praise the Lord. Praise the Lord. Amen. Praise God. You'll do a great job. Stand up here and give me a hug, young man. Praise the Lord. Love you. Grab that certificate out of here. Take that off of there. Here's a certificate of ordination signed by the leadership of the church, myself, and for all the other preachers in the house, if you can, before you get out of here today, sign the back of this certificate, and you as a person that attended church here today and part of this ordination, you're more than welcome to sign the back of this as well. I know I go back and look at mine, and there's a lot of people's signatures that are on there now with the Lord, and they were part of that service. So I know that Brother Keegan will look at that, and it'll be a wonderful blessing to him. So put your signature on there. God gives you a verse for him. Put that down as well. And so, Keegan, we want to present that to you. Amen. And then we want to... This is a small gift of our appreciation that will help you in the ministry. All right? And so I know this, we'll be talking to you two more in the days ahead about that upcoming wedding. And so we're excited for you all. Praise the Lord. Let me give you a hug. I haven't gave you a hug yet. God bless y'all. Love you all. Praise the Lord. Amen. So make sure, church, I'm going to have them sit down for just a minute. But make sure that you get by and let them know that you love them, you appreciate them, you're going to be praying for them. But once again, I know they'll appreciate if you'll just put your name signature on the back of that certificate. Now, as much as this was a charge for Brother Keegan and Sister Lauren, God's Word covers all bases. And there was enough of the message of the Gospel shared for bunches of people to get saved. We gave you some statistics that should kind of be alarming to you. And like I challenged you before, if you're here and you're not teaching your children at home, and you're not even preparing them for church on a Sunday morning or youth, then that needs to change. I know you're busy, but you need to help prepare your children. Maybe God's convicting you about that right now. Maybe God's speaking to you about that right now. And so we want to give you an opportunity to come and to pray. And if you're here and you don't know the Lord as your Savior, today's the day of salvation. Amen. One thing that would help you remember, I got saved the day that Brother Keegan got ordained. That would help you kind of remember that, wouldn't it? And so we appreciate all the family, the friends, everybody that was able to come and be a part of this today. And once again, Brother Keegan, you've got a lot of resources here. So make sure that you use those resources, okay? Sister Nikki, y'all come on up and let's take these chairs back. Let's everybody stand, please. Thank You, Lord, for Your sweet Spirit. Lord, I know that You're drawing right now. I know that You're wooing. I know that You're ministering. Lord, I know that there's folks that need to pray. I know that there's folks that have struggled this week, and some have even struggled with their own salvation or maybe knowing they need to come to know You. Right now, we want to give them that opportunity, dear God. Lord, I know that they could pray right where they're standing or sitting, but there's something special about praying on an altar. We want to give them that chance. So Lord, bless them. Lord, help them to say yes to You, Lord. Yes, Lord. Yes, Lord. Yes, Lord. Like that old song we used to sing. Maybe someone needs to grab their wife, their husband, their children, and come on up and pray. And make a commitment on this altar today. Hey, listen, family. We're going to start a Bible plan. We're going to start a Bible study. We're going to start... We're going to be more actively involved. And they just pray, Lord. And Lord, if they've been in a situation where they've been in a situation where they've been in a situation where they've been in a situation where they've been in a situation where they've been in a situation where they've been in a situation where they've been in a situation where they've been in a situation where they've been in a situation where they've been in a situation where they've been in a situation where they've been in a situation where they've been in a situation where they've been in a situation where they've been in a situation where they've been in a situation where they've been in a situation where they've been in a situation where they've been in a situation where they've been in a situation where they've been in a situation where they've been in a situation where they've been in a situation where they've been in a situation where they've been in a situation where they've been in a situation where they've been in a situation where they've been in a situation where they've been in a situation where they've been in a situation where they've been in a situation where they've been in a situation where they've been in a situation where they've been in a situation where they've been in a situation where they've been in a situation where they've been in a situation where they've been in a situation where they've been in a situation where they've been in a situation where they've been in a situation where they've been in a situation where they've been in a situation where they've been in a situation where they've been in a situation where they've been in a situation where they've been in a situation where they've been in a situation where they've been in a situation where they've been in a situation
