After the near-miss by the train at the railroad tracks, Tim and Hect leave the sleeping old-timer in the '48 Chevy and split up to have a better chance catching a ride hitchhiking. Hect gets lucky with a T-bird. However, Tim not so much in an old pickup with a cowboy driver. He promptly falls asleep and wakes up in the mountains of New Mexico and has to get out. With a thunderstorm coming on and way off course from El Paso where he's supposed to meet his pal, he's in deep trouble and knows it.
