In leaving the pool party, Henry interacts with the elderly retired Ohio couple who try to persuade him to return and join in the party. Snuffer and Croaker, meantime, act to dissuade him by countering the retired couples' invitations. Henry refuses to go back with the couple regretfully, but the old woman is persistent until finally giving up in the end. She leaves reluctantly and Henry goes the other way, feeling condemned.
