The radio hosts on Mix96.1 talk about a funny karaoke video they found on YouTube by a guy named Stretch Toms. They play clips of him singing "Let Her Cry" by Hootie and the Blowfish and "Brandy" by The Looking Glass. They find his singing entertaining and want to go see him perform live. They mention upcoming ticket giveaways and encourage listeners to stick around. Let her be. Oh, let her be. Mix96.1, you're on The Morning Show with Warren and Anna this morning. And Anna, you're probably wondering why we're playing that song right there on a Monday. Hootie and the Blowfish, of course, Darius Rucker singing Let Her Cry. And there's actually a reason for that. I was thinking about karaoke this weekend. And as you know, you go to a karaoke bar, karaoke club, and you see some songs that probably should not be sung by anybody but the original artist. And this is one of those songs right there. I've never seen this song done by anybody else where it becomes even remotely listenable. But I think I might have found one of the greatest versions ever of this song on YouTube. So it's done by a guy named Stretch Toms. I think he lives somewhere in the Midwest. And he decided to put up a video on YouTube of himself singing Let Her Cry by Hootie and the Blowfish. And the results were interesting to say the least. So I want to introduce you to the world of Stretch Toms and his wonderful karaoke. Here it is. Yeah. It gets better. It gets better. Oh. Got to get the chorus. Oh no. Oh. Oh. I feel like this video really could use like a visual for our listeners right now. It looks like he's in some sort of basement with his guitars in the wall. Into a microphone. Oh. Oh. Oh. This sounds like Robert Barone from Everybody Loves Raymond got drunk and decided to sing some karaoke. So you're probably wondering, does this get better? Can we skip ahead to the better part? Let's skip ahead and see what it sounds like, shall we? Oh. Oh my gosh. Oh no. Let's let him finish it, shall we? Oh. So there you have it. Stretch Toms singing Hootie and the Blowfish Let Her Cry here at Mix96.1. Should we do one more? He's got one more song I think that's worth listening to on YouTube. Remember that song Brandy by a band called The Looking Glass? Yeah, we've got that one available. So let's see what it sounds like. Maybe it's better. Maybe it's great. Here it is. Stretch Toms, everybody. Uh oh. Oh no. All right. Oh no. The hand motions here are just fantastic. This is just amazing content, everybody. Okay, okay, we've got to skip ahead. We're running out of time on this one. So let's see if it gets better, shall we? Oh wait, we've got to get more of that one. That was a great one. Oh my gosh. Oh my gosh. Anna, as you know, I don't drink. I don't go to bars, but whenever we see Stretch Toms coming to Seattle, we have got to go see him in person You're shocking. You're shocking. Oh my gosh. Thank you. Oh, thank you, Stretch. Stretch Toms, everybody here at Mix96.1. I'm officially speechless. I don't even know what to say. But I know we've got some tickets to give away coming up. You're going to want to stick around for Tri-Bond. We're doing that 20 minutes from now here at Mix96.1. While I regain my breath, regain my consciousness, Stretch Toms really gave me the laugh I needed to start my day. This is Mix96.1 to leave.
