Nothing to say, yet
The conversation revolves around the intersection of wellness and finance, focusing on the importance of new medical advancements like stem cell therapy and the need for accessible payment options for such treatments. The guest, Mr. Roth, introduces a unique financing model through his company Duplix, which allows individuals to pay for wellness services on a daily basis rather than in lump sums, making it more affordable and accessible. The discussion highlights the potential impact of this model on healthcare affordability and emphasizes the shift towards real-time financial solutions tailored to individual cash flows. It also touches on the application of this financing approach in various sectors, such as youth sports, to provide financial freedom to families. This is Sugar Crush, Richard Bovee here with Dan Barnard and Mr. Roth. We have a unique show today, it's about wellness and how to finance it basically because the new age of medicine is really going to the new things that are available and most of these things are not covered by their insurance companies. So Mr. Roth has a unique approach to this, how to get wellness for basically, we're talking about maybe even $15 a day for big items and that's a big breakthrough to me. So why don't you introduce Mr. Roth, Dan, he's your guest, you found him just like you find all the gems around town and he's a real gem and a real unique position. Absolutely. It was by serendipity as a lot of things that are good in life happen to be and we were down in the Grand Hotel, we were at a conference, an investment conference and we were on stage together and we were the two, one of four judges, judging about six companies that were pitching. Passing each other in there, we got off stage, we started having a small talk, we said, wow, I mentioned you, your book UnGlued and your book signing we had last night with 40 people and he goes, that sounds fantastic. So that was the key words, themselves and he started talking about his finest company with youth sports and that FICA really is a good way to get your score and credit and all this and so that sounds interesting, showed me his pitch deck which was second to none, beautiful and he's got a company he has and is raising capital for as well to scale what he has built with his team and I thought, wow, Uber, that's a pretty cool name and before you know it, he said, I'm taking off to Vegas for a conference tonight so maybe I'll come back next week. Well, that was last night. He came back last night. He showed up at Rick's event I hosted with Rick, 40 guests were there and he was so impressed with Rick's presentation and some of the patients that came up and gave testimony of what you've done with them and helped them and so we met this morning for breakfast and here we are in Rick's office. Yeah, and my clientele is pretty well off so they don't really need a lot of financing but that's really not the issue. Everybody needs themselves and it's not available and if there is a way to make it available to more people to spread that payment over time and make it available and get well in your area's wellness and finance and your capital fit so what a perfect segue into the solution to the problem. So tell the audience your full name, where you're from. I'm Randy Ross and I'm from Newport Beach, California and we've launched a company called Duplix and it's an interesting turn of events that brought us all together. It stems from the revolution that's happening in the world and when you think about finance, can you think about the way finance was built? It was built in the 1920s and 30s when people worked for companies for basically their life. You got a 30-year mortgage, you got a paycheck, then came checking accounts, then came credit cards and charge accounts. Those are bygone era financial products. Today we live in a world where money can move in an instant and people don't live their life the way our grandparents did. We don't have banking the way our grandparents did and my partner and I realized that there's a better way for people to enjoy and live their lives. They can live their life by the day, they can pay for their life by the day and what I mean by that is that we provide a financial model that allows us to utilize people's cash flow to determine their ability to repay money. FICO is ancient history. It's everything in your past. It's sort of like A1C. What's your A1C? That's an interesting one. Like three months average? That's a very good point. FICO is kind of your past. A1C is the past of your sugar utilization. We want to know in real time now what the story is. Ned Walsh is going to tell you what glucose is as you eat that cream puff. And he's going to tell you how things are looking financially every day. So now wellness is something that we should all be able to afford. Oh, absolutely. And when you look at the ability to have full wellness in your life as your clinics provide and you look at the cost of that, it isn't about what the cost is up front. It's what that value is over time to your life. You can't put a price to the value of good healthy living. What you offer is something that everybody can afford and if you can do it at a $9, $12, $15 a day daily payment where you don't have to worry about it, that's good living. That's wellness. It's a beautiful concept. Because that, as you said, America is built on great platforms but now in the digital age, in real time, you need the wellness right now. You can't wait. And when you have a financial constraint and there's something out there that's new and wonderful like stem cells and you can finance that at a very reasonable rate instantly, now that person who has been excluded from this market now has access. That's a big, big deal. Think about this, Dr. Jacobi. We were sitting in a restaurant this morning. Run by a wonderful woman. Imagine her knees go out. And now she doesn't have the ability to go to surgery on this and stem cells can do everything and more that the surgery would do. The reality is she'd be back on her feet the next day and it would only come out in a small drip of her account every single day. There's no way for us to convey how incredible that is and what a difference in somebody's life that would make. The working person that cannot take weeks off to recover from surgery or people that don't have the luxury of being able to take off time. They run a family. They've got kids. They've got a whole life. Your stem cell therapy changes everything by eliminating surgery and letting the body heal itself with stem cells. Wow. I've never heard it said better. Light drop. Show over. Yes. Good job. Light drop. Mr. Rock. Yeah. So, last night was namedrop Pogo the Chow. Excellent meal. Really good accommodations because we had an overflow crowd and they took us from the small room into the big room seamlessly with your help. And we had really good testimonials last night. People that had stem cells, people that need stem cells and to that point I did not know what value you bring to that industry or any industry for that matter to change the paradigm. And this is game changing because we're paying thousands and thousands of dollars for insurance coverage for an old technology, medicine and surgery. And stem cells can eliminate most of those problems instantly and you have instant access to the capital to do it. So, that's going to change the, I think, the insurance model as well because you don't need that daily, day-to-day coverage. You don't need catastrophic coverage for sure. So, there's a savings that could be added to the insurance. Raise your deductible. Use that money. Get your wellness right now. And for the small business owner, what a demand just for the small consumers. Walk us through how this works. So, it's in the OOBLIX.com Zip radio, I got up this morning at breakfast and it's a 90 second application. It's literally... What takes you so long? What do you do in 90 days? So, it grabs... How did that... Snowflake. I love that term, by the way. The visual that you bring. And explain the Snowflake. Snowflakes. It's kind of interesting. AI terminology. It's the ability to take people's information and determine their willingness and ability to pay in real time. So, while we're not looking at an ancient FICO score, what we do is we ask you how much money you want. We ask you if you can afford the daily payment. Now, being realistic, everybody has been through the application process where they go into a black box to determine whether or not they're going to get a loan and they have no idea what the criteria is. With OOBLIX, you say, I need to borrow $2,000. We come back. Great. Can you afford the $6.52 a day payment? Now, everybody can afford $6.52 a day. We're half the price of a credit card on our interest rate. You log into the app. You put in your phone number. Your application comes up on the screen. And within a matter of 90 seconds, we've run all of your financial process, all of your cash flows, and made a determination that, in fact, you can afford the $6.52 a day. And we fund your loan within minutes on your bank account. So you get to put the swipe to pay for your services to the doctor. That's amazing. So that's essentially a cup of Starbucks coffee. To get well. To get well. And the evidence for this was you saw a broken model and then you saw a huge market called Youth Sports. So my head of sales, his daughter, is in a number one draft pick for the U.S. girls volleyball team. And he was at a game. And the head of one of the large clubs was sitting next to him, and they were talking about what he was doing. And they looked at each other and had an epiphany that there are 22 million American families that participate in club sports, and 67% of them find paying those fees, the travel, the coaching, the equipment, a challenge. And when you think about it, at 36% average interest rate on a credit card, it's no wonder that it's so challenging. When you add to that that it's a single lump payment every month for a credit card, we looked at that and said there's got to be a better way. And with today's technology, with everything that's advanced in the ability to move money, we've determined that there's a way for us to change that and allow people to pay for their life as they live it by the day. I'm coming to a meeting here where I get to meet Dr. Jacobi, and I'm learning about Unglued, and I am an advocate that your body can heal itself. And understanding what you're bringing to the marketplace, there's no reason that the same technology we're applying to youth sports to provide financial freedom to families can't be applied to wellness. Wellness in every regard. If you're healthy, and you're fit, and you're financially free, that is life quality that's irreplaceable. And when you look at the cost of insurance, it doesn't jive. I can't see why you wouldn't want to pay $13 a day as opposed to $900 to $1,200 a month for insurance. Well, this is a game changer. Everybody who's listened to this show I'm sure has been in a position, for whatever reason, they can't come up with a lump sum, and like you say, you got to fill out applications, and you need this instantly. So in the 90 seconds, you're able to scour the universe and come up with an answer. That's faster than a credit card. Is there AI involved in this? Artificial intelligence? It's machine learning and AI. And AI has been around for decades. The large language model that we're all seeing with chat GPT and others is actually that being realized into a method that people can use for themselves on a daily basis. But this is old technology being applied to new money guidelines that allow us to have access to money in real time. It's the culmination of all elements of life. If you think about it, there was a time that you didn't have a checking account. There was a time that there was no credit card. There's an evolution in finance just like there's an evolution in life. We used to burn whale blubber, and we went to natural gas, and we went to gasoline. There's technologies that change and make life better. And this is one of those elements where the reality is we don't need to live in an antiquated system of finance. We live a subscription life in many regards. We can pay for all elements of our life on a daily basis. We do not have to write big checks at the first of the month. Google it, haze your bills on the first of the month, and we take 30 daily drips so that you don't have to be struggling to make big payments. A small daily payment is much easier than a big lump sum. And just as we were sitting next to you yesterday, I'm on the airplane and I'm meditating from Vegas to here. I get off the plane and the woman next to me who I've been sitting next to for an hour is talking to her mother-in-law and they mentioned sports. And I said, wow, that's fantastic. If you're interested, we finance sports. She said, well, that's interesting because I'm the head of treasury for J.P. Morgan Bank. Whoa. I tell her what Uplift does, she tells her what J.P. Morgan does. Next thing you know, she's setting up meetings with us and the technical team at J.P. Morgan, the equity markets team at J.P. Morgan, and this has been probably one of the most interesting meetings of my life because since meeting Dan at the first event and talking about you and my history with stem cells going back 23 years and understanding the value there and all the people that I've met just around this subject matter, I've increased my contact list 25 to 30 people. That's amazing. We used the word technology for stem cells as well. Go through that history of the stem cells or the hair restoration because you go back quite a few years. So a very close friend of mine was running an orthopedic clinic. He was an orthopedic surgeon and he had met up with Dr. Boswell. They determined that there was an opportunity to utilize stem cells for hair growth and they had magnificent success in building a product that grew hair. This was 23 years ago on a bowling ball. He said they could grow hair on a bowling ball and I believe him. The interesting thing was they could actually give you the hair color you wanted texture. There was a lot more to this and they shut him down. They collected paid. Stem cells obviously have been around forever. I'd like to tell the story of Lucy, our first primate and Don Johansson is a friend of mine who discovered Lucy. She was the 3.2 million year old primate who evolved to the upright ape that we are now. I know that's very controversial but the FDA last year said that amniotic fluid and placenta was a drug. They legislated that that was a drug. So that means to me that Lucy is a drug dealer. She's carrying around the amniotic fluid. But they left in the law a stem cell product which is the umbilical cord and the covering on the umbilical cord is called Wharton Jelly and that's what we use it's legal in the United States and has to be done under their guidelines but it is a substance that's pretty much used for any inflammatory modality as a modality but we're not really allowed to say that we can make any cures we can't make any claims which we don't have the literature to prove that a double blind study which would take 10 years and a couple hundred million dollars so this substance Wharton Jelly is available we use it every day for arthritic types of problems, neuropathies, etc. But it's interesting 23 years ago your doctor ran into this barrier because big pharma doesn't want to get out of the box because it works otherwise they wouldn't exist. And one of the impediments is the cost and getting it to the consumer and you have a solution for that that to me is just mind-boggling so you're going to impact the insurance industry as well because if a person can self-insure for these types of products if they buy in the long run and getting a bigger deductible over time the HSAs, the health savings accounts I think that's going to dovetail right into that because a lot of people, insurance they're worried about a catastrophic event and they should but if you have this substance, stem cells financeable in real time that's a sidebar effect that I think you have discovered not our intention we did not come into this with that intention the intention is to provide financial freedom to people to be able to make decisions in their life and offer them an opportunity to have a better more controlled cost of living the goal for Ublix is to provide financial freedom. The outcomes of those goals on Ublix is something that we can't determine it's too early but again, as I said in the beginning from my position, everybody can afford wellness and everybody should be able to afford a healthy life and whatever we can all do together to offer that to more people is in the best interest of us So, Randy, you've built the technology of your team the company, right? Talk about that My partner and I spent 3 years building the infrastructure of the technology the hardest elements of what we're doing is that it's all real time understanding of what people's inflows and outflows of cash are the ability to fund immediately into your bank account with no human underwriting and the ability to scale to meet the demand for low cost financing It's a big lift to be able to create a platform that can underwrite 60,000 loan applications a day and generate on average 10,000 funded loans Can you white label this for J.P. Morgan? You've got the top of the top for that company the treasury of the bank who are looking for new innovative technology driven products for their consumers I would love to hear that J.P. Morgan would be interested in white labeling our products There are definite opportunities for our products to be white labeled by financial institutions and large institutional companies that deploy capital With re-enrollment contracts? I think so. The permutations of your thought has far reaching potential like the insurance industry and giving the freedom to like RFK is a big voice right now in the wellness space and I got a text from his people yesterday he's pushing very hard for all these natural things to be incorporated into the American psyche and we don't know what the election is going to do but he has a plan to make America healthy again and financing is absolutely a part of that Last year we had 4.7 trillion dollars in health care costs for things that are old technology So I hear your company has a solution and I'm going to get you involved with RFK Our solution is a financial solution We don't have any influence on the wellness industry. We have no influence on the health care industry. From our position it's that there are brilliant people such as yourself that provide options to people and there needs to be a way to pay for those options and if our company can provide a logical and financially sound way of somebody paying for wellness then it makes complete sense for us to participate in a program that provides that wellness to people We've looked at this as a way of people controlling the cost of their life in something that they can understand because it's in a bite sized chunk that they can look at everyday We like to think of it as Sarah is an in-home senior caregiver She makes good money everyday. She cares for people's parents and seniors She gets a flat tire It's $1,200. Sarah makes great money but she doesn't have $1,200 in the bank but she can certainly afford to pay $4.15 a day and that's the idea behind Eucalyptus. The idea behind Eucalyptus is that we're here to pay for your needs and that's what's important. Health is a need Absolutely How did you convince the financial institutions to fund these? Because they're all in the same mindset right? They're all going to the same conference and you're the disruptor. How did they figure that out? Is it a super innovative bank that you're working with? Or is it a collective of alternative lending sources? Because lending sources have kind of come and gone The daily finance for businesses came and went. That was a Utah based company Evergreen or something. I forget the name of it That's a very good question We're all looking at the future Every financial institution is looking for where the future is going and determining what vehicles will be used to move into the future. It's in their best interest to look at many vehicles for this forward progression of money investment. They're looking at blockchain They're looking at many areas of how the money is going to move back and forth But under it all, people need to borrow money They need to borrow money in a new progressive way They're seeing as a progressive solution that like the progression from whale blubber to kerosene heating oil and gasoline there's going to be a progression in the way we finance our life and UBLIX may be the answer that we're all looking for I believe UBLIX is the answer we're all looking for That's why we built it The institutions are looking at it and seeing that there is a time for change and this may be the onset of that tipping point where UBLIX changes the way you live your life PayPal kind of cracked the whole code of moving money efficiently Venmo, Zelle I think they would be natural partners of yours because they're moving money daily but there's no final feature for those money movement transfer platforms UBLIX is a very unique, one of a kind entity that does something that others have not managed to do and it's a philosophy it's not stemmed from the banking side it's stemmed from the consumer side where we're looking at the consumer's needs the consumer wants to have a handle and a control on how they live their life and understand the affordability of life it's very easy to understand the cost of something when you're paying for it daily unbelievable five phones $300 plus a month it's like, ah, geez I think you've got to call Verizon I can hit my kids up daily for $2 not $70 at the end of the month make my life way easier so you have a solution, I love UBLIX go to UBLIX.com, check it out how do folks find out about the investment potential? do they give you a call? they can reach out to UBLIX rroth at UBLIX.com or they can reach out to you dan at capitalfit.us that's a great answer that's right be sure to get your copy of your book Unglued on Amazon write a review we picked up 25,000 reviews it's got to be number one in its category we're pushing hard we've sold several hundred books so far excellent let me give a shout out to my friend Dan we were in California about a year ago a guy says to me what's the word glucose mean? biochemistry blah blah blah what's the word mean?
