The transcript discusses different techniques used in police interviews. The "read technique" implies guilt and can lead to false confessions and stress. The "cognitive technique" helps create a visual picture of the situation, but it is not suitable for this case of a car accident. The "kinetics technique" involves analyzing stress levels, but it can also lead to false confessions. The speaker chose the "piece technique" for interviewing a victim with a recent concussion. Now I'm going to go over the different techniques used in a police interview. One of the methods in the interview is known as the read technique. This is where the interviewer implies that he already knows that the person he is interviewing is guilty and just wants him to admit it already. The reason why this is bad is because it can give up false confessions and it will stress the interviewee out. The reason why I picked the piece technique instead of the read technique is because the read technique is best used for suspects and I'm interviewing a victim and also the victim has suffered a recent concussion so therefore pressuring him also will lead to a higher risk of a false confession. Another technique is known as the cognitive technique where the interviewer tries to make sure that the interviewer paints a visual picture of the entire situation, even going to as far as trying to paint the scene from a different perspective. The reason why I didn't pick this technique and I picked the piece technique instead is because the cognitive technique is best for crime scenes but with this crime it was only just getting hit by a car, so there's not really much you can say about that. Finally there is a final technique called the kinetics technique. This technique is where you have to analyse the stress of the individual. You have to purposefully make sure the individual is stressed out, so to give them stressful questions such as a punishment that they will receive if they don't tell the truth etc. Similar to the read technique, the reason why I didn't pick this technique is because I'm only interviewing the victim and stressing the victim out would cause a false confession or them to say wrong information. I hope you enjoyed this video, if you did please give it a thumbs up and subscribe to my channel for more videos like this. I'll see you in the next video, bye!
