AI is shaping the future of digital marketing and will transform businesses by 2030, according to a report. Generative AI training is in high demand, allowing AI to create new content with human guidance. AI is creating new job opportunities in AI and machine learning, big data, and fintech engineering. Human skills like creativity, resilience, and adaptability are becoming more valuable in the AI-powered world. AI is already impacting digital marketing through personalization, chatbots, content creation, and campaign optimization. Continuous learning is key to staying relevant in the rapidly changing AI landscape. Hey, everyone, and welcome back. We're diving into a topic that I know is on everyone's minds these days. Yeah. AI and how it's shaking up the world of digital marketing. Definitely a hot topic. Absolutely. And we're going to really go deep on this one. Sounds good. We've got a Future of Jobs Report 2025 from the World Economic Forum. Oh, yeah, I've heard of that. Yeah, they talk to over 1,000 employers worldwide. Wow, that's a lot of people. It is, and it's packed with insights that honestly could change the way you think about digital marketing. I'm intrigued. First things first, this report makes it clear that AI is not just a fad. All through where you look. Exactly. It's the driving force shaping the future of work. And a massive 86% of these employers. 86%, wow. Yeah, they believe AI and information processing are going to completely transform their businesses by 2030. That's just eight years away. I know it's coming fast, and think about this. It's even bigger than things like the rising cost of living or expanding digital access. Okay, so this is the big one. This is the big one. And here's something else that's really fascinating. There's this huge surge in demand for what's called generative AI training. Oh, yeah, I've seen those ads everywhere. Right, and it's not just individuals, it's companies too. They're pouring resources into getting their people trained up on AI. Makes sense, they want to stay ahead of the curve. Exactly. So have you ever wondered what generative AI training actually is? To be honest, I mean, I get the basic idea, but I'd love to know more. So imagine using AI to create new content. Oh, wow. Like writing marketing copy blog posts, even video scripts. So AI is doing the creative work now? It can be a really powerful tool, but it's not as simple as just pressing a button. Right. It still needs human guidance, you know? Okay, so think of it more as a collaboration. Exactly, it's like having a creative partner. Interesting. Yeah, it helps you brainstorm, overcome writer's block, that kind of thing. I can see how that would be helpful. Definitely. But AI isn't just changing how we create content, it's impacting the entire job market for digital marketers. Right, and the report talked about some new opportunities too, right? Yeah, it highlighted some of the fastest growing jobs out there, things like AI and machine learning specialists. Oh, those are hot jobs. Yeah, and big data specialists, fintech engineers. Yeah. All those tech heavy roles. So if you're good with data, AI is opening doors. Absolutely, but what about those of us already working in digital marketing? Right, like what do we need to do to adapt? Exactly, what skills do we need to stay relevant in this AI powered world? That's the million dollar question. It is, and here's the thing, the report says that even with all this emphasis on technical skills, it's actually making human skills even more valuable. Wait, really? I always thought AI would replace human skills. No, it sounds counterintuitive, right? It does. But think about it as AI takes over more of the routine tasks. Okay. Those uniquely human skills become even more important. So things like creativity. Exactly, resilience, flexibility, curiosity. You have to be able to think on your feet. Exactly. You have to be adaptable and a lifelong learner, because the landscape is changing so fast. So it's not about competing with AI, it's about working with it. Exactly, leveraging its strengths while playing to our own strengths as humans. It's like a partnership. It is. And that brings up a really important question for all of us. How do we prepare for this AI revolution? What can we actually do to make sure our skills stay sharp? Right, because it's not just coming for some jobs, it's changing the game for everyone. That's a little daunting. It is, and the report gives us a pretty stark prediction. By 2030, 59 out of every 100 workers- Wow. Are gonna need training to keep up with the changing demands of the job market. More than half. More than half, because of AI. So it's not just learning a few new tricks. It's a whole new way of thinking. It is, it's about embracing continuous learning and adapting to a world where things change constantly. So we have to be agile. We do, and the report highlights three paths you can upscale in your current role. Okay. You can reskill for a new position. Or you can get left behind, and the numbers are pretty interesting. 29 people upskilling, 19 switching gears to new roles, and 11. Hopefully not too many people in that last group. Right, we want everyone to be prepared. And the good news is there are tons of resources out there to help us navigate this transition. Like what kind of resources? Online courses, workshops, even entire degree programs dedicated to AI and marketing. That's encouraging. It is. So before we move on, I wanna pause and hear your thoughts on this first part of our deep dive. Yeah, this has been really eye-opening. What are your biggest takeaways so far? Well, like you said, AI is not just coming for some jobs. It's changing the game for everyone. And that means we all need to be proactive, adaptable, and constantly learning. Couldn't agree more. It's not about fearing AI. It's about embracing its potential and using it to become even better marketers. Absolutely. So let's take a closer look at some real world examples of how AI is already impacting different areas of digital marketing. Okay, let's get specific. Are you ready to explore? I am. All right, let's dive in. I am ready. It's really amazing to see how AI is going from just like a buzzword to actually changing how marketing campaigns work. Yeah, it's not just talk anymore, it's action. Totally. So let's get into the specifics. What are some of the coolest ways that marketers are using AI right now? Well, one of the big ones is personalization. Yeah, I've heard about that. AI can look at huge amounts of data, like everything from what you browse online to what you've bought before. And then what? And use that to create a really targeted and personalized experience just for you. So instead of seeing the same ad as everyone else, I'm getting messages that are tailored to my interests and needs. Yeah, exactly. Imagine product recommendations that actually match your style. Okay, that'd be nice. Or emails that talk about problems you've actually had. So it's all about making the experience more relevant. And engaging, yeah. Okay, but isn't that a little creepy? I mean, it can be a little unnerving, I guess. But the level of personalization AI can do is pretty impressive. Yeah, I can see how it'd be effective. It's all about connecting with the customer on a deeper level, anticipating their needs. And ultimately getting them to buy more stuff, right? Well, yeah, I mean, that's the goal, isn't it? That's the goal. AI is kind of like the secret weapon for making that happen. Okay, so personalization is a big one. Yeah. What else is AI up to? Another game changer is chatbots. Yeah, those are everywhere now. I know, and they're getting so much better. Like they can handle tons of customer questions. Really? Yeah. Provide instant support and even close sales. Wait, they can actually close sales? Oh, yeah, there are chatbots out there doing that. Huh. I'm still a little skeptical. I've had some pretty bad experiences with chatbots. I get it. Some of them are definitely better than others. Yeah. The key is to design them really well. You know, understand your customer's needs and make sure they're actually providing value. Not just spitting out canned responses. Exactly. It's not about replacing human interaction entirely. It's more like enhancing it, right? Exactly. Like use chatbots for the simple stuff. The quick questions. And then free up your human agents to handle the complex issues that need empathy and creativity. The stuff that AI can't do. Right. It's like AI is becoming this ultimate marketing assistant. Yeah, like it's taking care of the routine tasks. Well, we get to focus on the strategic stuff. And the creative stuff. I like that a lot. And there's even more. Remember we talked about generative AI before? Yeah, the content creation stuff. Right. Well, that's changing the game too. So you're telling me that AI can write my blog posts now? Well, sort of. There are tools like Jasper and Copy.AI. I've heard of those. They can actually generate really good content like blog posts, social media captions, even video scripts. And it does it all by itself? Well, it still needs some guidance from a human to make sure it's on brand and accurate and engaging. So it's not like AI is taking over completely? Not yet, at least. It's more like it's giving us a boost. Yeah. Helping us be more productive, overcome writer's block, generate new ideas. I can definitely see the appeal there. And don't forget about AI's impact on media buying and campaign optimization. Oh, yeah. That whole world is changing too. AI platforms can analyze campaign data in real time, identify the best channels, and adjust bids to get the most bang for your buck. So it's like AI is doing all the heavy lifting when it comes to data. It can even spot patterns and insights that we might miss as humans. And that leads to better targeting and more effective ads. And ultimately, a higher return on your marketing investment. So this is all pretty mind-blowing. But I got to be honest, it's also a little overwhelming. I know. It's a lot to keep up with. It feels like AI is moving so fast. It is. Like, how do we even keep up with all the new tools and technologies? Well, I think the key is to embrace this idea of continuous learning. Like always be learning? Yeah, because the world of AI is constantly evolving. So what you need to know today might be different tomorrow. Exactly. So it's not enough to just learn a few AI tricks. It's about becoming a lifelong learner. Always adapting and expanding your skill set. That's how you stay ahead of the curve. So far, we've talked about personalization, chatbots, content creation, and media buying. It's a lot to take in. It is. So before we move on to the next big thing, I want to ask you. Sure. What are some of the specific skills that you think performance marketers need to develop? To thrive in this AI-driven world. Exactly. Like, what do we need to focus on? Well, it goes back to what we were talking about before about technical skills and the human skills. Okay. So we need both. Definitely. When it comes to technical skills, you need to understand data analysis, AI tools, and platforms. Okay. So that's the tech side. Right. But don't underestimate the importance of soft skills. You mean things like communication and collaboration? Exactly. And creative problem solving. Because AI can analyze data and write content. Right. But it can't replace the human touch. Exactly. It can't connect with customers on an emotional level. Or tell compelling stories or build relationships. That's where humans still have the edge. So it's about finding that sweet spot. Where technology and human ingenuity come together. I like that a lot. It's a journey, not a destination. Because AI is always changing. We have to adapt, learn, and grow along with it. This has been incredibly insightful. Glad you think so. We've talked about how AI is transforming digital marketing. But now I'm curious about the ethical side of things. Yeah, that's a big one. It is. And I think it's something we need to address head on. Absolutely. AI brings up a whole set of ethical considerations. So let's dive into that in our next segment. OK, sounds good. We'll explore some of the ethical challenges and opportunities that AI presents for performance marketers. Looking forward to it. Stay tuned. AI, ethics, it's a hot topic. And for good reason. As AI becomes more and more a part of marketing, we really have to make sure we're using it responsibly. Yeah, ethically. Exactly. So let's break this down. What are some of the specific ethical concerns that come up when we talk about AI and digital marketing? Well, data privacy is a huge one. Oh, yeah, it's a big one. AI needs tons of data to work right. And that brings up a lot of questions about how that data is collected, stored, used. Like, are we being transparent with people about how their data is being used? Right, exactly. And are we getting their consent properly? These are things marketers need to think about seriously. Yeah, because people are getting more and more aware of how their data is being used. They are. And they're demanding more control. And transparency. Exactly. And it's not just about following the rules like GDPR or CCPA. It's about building trust. Yeah, if people don't trust you with their data, they're not going to want to engage with your brand. So data privacy is crucial. What other ethical things should we be considering? Well, another big one is bias. Oh, yeah. I've heard about that. AI algorithms are trained on data, right? And if that data has biases built into it. AI is going to be biased too. Exactly. And that can lead to some really bad outcomes. Like certain groups being excluded from seeing certain ads or getting certain offers. That's not good. We don't want AI to make inequality worse. We don't. And as marketers, we have to make sure the AI systems we're using are fair, unbiased, inclusive. So how do we do that? Well, it means auditing our data, carefully testing our algorithms, and working with diverse teams to catch those biases. So it's about being proactive. It is taking steps to make sure AI is being used ethically. And responsibly. Right. And it's not just about avoiding bad stuff. It's also about using AI to do good in the world. Oh, yeah. AI can be a force for good. It can think about reaching underserved communities, personalizing education, even fighting climate change. So it's not just about mitigating risk. It's about making a positive impact. Exactly. And as performance marketers, we're in a unique position to shape how AI is used. To make sure it benefits everyone. Businesses and society as a whole. This has been an amazing conversation. We've covered so much. It's been fun. From how AI is transforming digital marketing to the ethical considerations we all need to be thinking about. A lot to unpack. So before we wrap up, I want to ask you one final question. What's your biggest piece of advice for performance marketers who are trying to navigate this new AI-driven world? You know, my advice is simple. Embrace the change. Don't be afraid of it. Don't be afraid. Experiment with new AI tools. Learn new skills. Push the boundaries. AI is an opportunity, not a threat. Exactly. It's a chance to become better marketers. To connect with our customers in deeper ways. And create campaigns that are both effective and ethical. I love it. Embrace the change experiment and never stop learning. That's the key. That's a perfect mantra for performance marketers in the age of AI. And remember, even though the technical side of AI is important, never lose sight of the human element. Right, because at the end of the day, marketing is about connecting with people. It is understanding their needs and building relationships based on trust and authenticity. That's so important. And as AI gets even more sophisticated, our human skills, like empathy and creativity and storytelling, are going to become even more valuable. Absolutely. It's that blend of human ingenuity and technology that's really going to unlock the power of AI in marketing. This has been an incredible deep dive. Thank you so much for sharing your insights and expertise with us. It's been my pleasure. I think we can all agree that AI is a game changer for digital marketing.
