39 Steps Derby Theatre 28-08-2026

There'll be derring-do done in 'The 39 Steps', which runs at at Derby Theatre, from Tuesday 29th September to Saturday 17th October. Adapted for a cast of four players by Patrick Barlow from both the Buchan novel and Alfred Hitchcock's 1935 film starring Robert Donat as Richard Hannay, this is The 39 Steps as you've never seen it before. I spoke to Kathryn Perkins and James Keningale in a brief break in rehearsals, after watching the cast in rehearsal with director Cal McCrystal.
